How could anyone give this a thumbs down? I pray they will someday meet Jesus and learn that Charlie was speaking nothing but truth. A great man. I bet a heck of a jam session is going on in Heaven!!
These words are a perfect example of why I will always have a lot of love and respect for Charlie Daniels. Don't get me wrong, he was a talented musician and his music will always live in me. However, more importantly, the man was a great supporter of our military and patriotic to the core. RIP, Charlie.
Charlie you will be missed the words in your song A simple man resigante so true when you recorded it and even more so today, thank you for all you did in your lifetime, rest in peace heaven definitely has a mighty voice in its aresenal God bless you and your loved ones and God bless America.
He is absolutely correct in what he says, so many young people today have been brainwashed into thinking that this country is bad. If we truly lose everything that makes us America those people that fought so hard to get it to that state will see that it wasn't what they thought it would be once all of their freedoms are taken. Rest in peace my friend your music will live on forever you brought a lot of people joy and happiness with your music.
I only ever knew one of my grandfathers, since my father's dad passed 9 years before I was born. I had always counted Charlie as my replacement grandpa. My extra grandpa to balance my maternal grandfather, a Veteran who like Charlie was a proud Patriot. 2020 robbed me of both men. The news crushed my heart. He was a National Treasure and the world is a poorer place without him in it.
I remember liking his Devil Went Down to Georgia song when I was in 6th grade. It wasn´t a common choice in the Rock and Roll area where I lived, and some of the kids laughed at me, but I´m glad I spoke up for Mr. Daniels´ music!
'Got on a plane in Fresco and got off in Vietnam. I walked into a different world, the past forever gone. I could have gone to Canada or I could have stayed in school. But I was brought up differently. I couldn't break the rules. Thirteen months and fifteen days, the last ones were the worst. One minute I kneel down and pray And the next I stand and curse. No place to run to where I did not feel that war. When I got home I stayed alone and checked behind each door. Still in Saigon Still in Saigon I am Still in Saigon in my mind! The ground at home was covered with snow. And I was covered in sweat. My younger brother calls me a killer and My daddy calls me a vet. Everybody says that I'm someone else That I'm sick and there's no cure. Damned if I know who I am. There was only one place I was sure When I was Still in Saigon Still in Saigon. I am still in Saigon in my mind!
Poor old Charlie Daniels finally out played the Devil and woke up at the Gates of St. Peter. Rest in peace Charlie. You can play the fiddle to your hearts content in heaven.
A great performer. A great fiddle player. A great mind. A great American. A truly great man. Go be with God Mr Daniels. Your talent and wisdom will be missed. God bless.
History proves that Washington, Lincoln, Reagan and hopefully Trump today believe in Divine Providence that God Himself ordained our country for every race, creed and ethnic group to be called to live in harmony. Trust God!
I’m not bashing on the guy but Charlie sang some songs that would kill any white person now days if they play it driving down the street. I hope he found Jesus before he passed.
R.I.P Charlie ! Musician, songwriter, country gentleman, Christian, and American Patriot! Will be greatly missed !!😢❤️

We need to have the conversation about what to do about teachers teaching the hate for America.
Democrats agenda ? Vote them out of office?

I've always thought "Simple Man" would have made a fine national anthem.
