Hey brother I baught the 27.5 inch wheel 500 watt motor but I really want to thank you because there is no difference in assembly all the same your voice and intelligence made it easy it's exactly the same. Thanx again..... Have you ever thaught about teaching ...I think you would be very good at it because you voice was very calming and you showed exactly what to do
Hello Edward, I'm glad you found it useful! I've volunteered teaching in the past, but decided to pursue a different profession. Unfortunately teachers do not get paid well in San Francisco.

Hey Colin -- thanks for your time to help us make a more informed decision about an eBike purchase. I watched your video review of the Hyper 700C from Wal-Mart and would appreciate your recommendation on this TotGuard T-266 vs the Hyper 700C. Most of my riding will be on flat surfaces here in Florida -- not many hills to deal with here :). Again, thanks so much for your extensive reviews.
Hello, I would strongly recommend the TotGuard over the Hyper. Almost everything is better including power (350w vs 250w), range (28mi+ vs 20), brakes (disc vs v-brakes), potential higher max speed (25mph vs 20mph), and twist throttle (none on the Hyper). The battery on my wife's Hyper died after storing for months, and replacements are difficult to find, or are expensive. The totguard's battery looks like every other generic battery, but I have yet to confirm. The ebike prices are nearly identical too. I'd only recommend the Hyper if you prefer that frame style. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you.
@@ColinLeung Thank you very much for your reply. It was very helpful and pretty much what I expected based on my cursory reading. As a first time buyer I really hesitate to spend big bucks. There are so many brands that it’s difficult to know which are quality bikes and which are just junk. For a casual rider like me over-spending is a major concern.
@@genemcloud4114 You're welcome. If you're trying to get your feet wet with ebikes I'd suggest starting off with a cheaper $300-600 ebike that has your speed and range requirements, figure out what you like/dislike (more range, faster motor, better brakes, fatter tires, etc), and possibly upgrade in the future. From my experience they perform similarly to the $1000 to $2000 models without the bells and whistles like hydraulic brakes, hydraulic forks, integrated battery, and brand name markup. Batteries last around 1000 charges, or 2-5 years. You can either purchase a replacement, or ride the bike like a normal bike if the battery ever dies.
@@ColinLeung Thanks again, Colin. I've been watching sooo many UA-cam videos on eBikes. I thought I had found a solid Brand that was a tad more expensive than I wanted to pay, but the reviews had been excellent --- until I found one where the guy was stranded. Honestly, I understand all brands will have a bad apple now and then, and that's when good customer service becomes important. I've noted that many buyers have tried to get local bike shops to help them with issues and most simply refuse to work on these "unknown" bikes. Again, I appreciate your time post videos that help us all make more informed purchases.
Just got mine today so I'll post you a review/critique after I've used it a few times. I will say this, Colin - EXCELLENT VIDEO, Bud! Useful, informative and easy for old men to understand. Helpful set-up tips and instruction with a solid, honest review. I'll refer back to this video often. Happy riding, Kid!
@@ColinLeung I did get to ride it the day after I wrote this. Your assembly instructions were perfect. Like I think you highlighted, what would I expect for $600? But for an entry-level e-bike, it has everything one would need. As I stated, I'm older, can't drive and have ridden my conventional bike a little too far on occasion and had to rest for a while on my return trip. This solves that issue. Fortunately, the weather cooperated on the day of my maiden voyages but hasn't since. (Short summers here in Michigan) I had considered paying 2 or 3 times the price for a higher-end, mid-drive e-bike but glad that I didn't. I've yet to try serious uphill riding but there really aren't that many hilly areas around me. Not sure how I feel about the half-twist throttle yet but there are inexpensive replacemet options available if it becomes an issue. I don't know what kind of a winter I'm looking at but I already have warm riding gear. So, barring rain and snowy roads, I think I'm going to enjoy riding this at least through next Spring. And should I upgrade, I'll keep this as the practical, functional staple. To wrap up, this is perfect to get used to an e-bike. Thanks again, Colin!
It's a great Bike I have 800 Miles on mine and its working like brand new. I put a mirror on it and a back fender plus a custom seat and removed the reflectors on the wheels and stickers.
I was looking at conversion kits and came across this listing. This entire bike seems to be equal to or better than the kits at less than the cost of said kit. Glad to see you like it
Thank you! You helped me a lot making a decision on buying this bike. This bike will help me get home as I leave my car charging on a public EV station five miles away.
I just got mine today. It was a week late which sucks since it's $120 for shipping. Put it together in about an hour. Filled up the tires to 30 psi at speedway and went for an 8 mile ride on a bike path. The thing is super fun! Battery came fully charged. Mostly used pedal assist 3 and it got up smaller inclines just fine. Also the quick release front tire is nice so I can toss it in my chevy cruze, fits in the trunk with back seats folded down. Only thing it needs is a better seat and handlebar riser. Totally recommend and definitely recommend watching this video first before you buy. Very informative.
Good video. Bought my bike a year ago. The 27", 48V 500 Watts is my model. Wish you had the video back then. Still, it's a good bike for weekends. Thank you.
Hello, I've had my top guard ebike since February 2022. I now have approximately 1700 miles on it. However out of the box I found it to be dangerous as far as the breaking ability. I broke it in properly and found that it would only bring me to a slow stop. Could not lock up the brakes which is necessary for emergency stopping. The first thing that I changed on it was the brakes ordering and installing hydraulic line pole brakes both front and back and putting 180 mm discs on to replace the $160 mm. The next thing I did was I replaced the rear derailleur, the seat adding a suspension seatpost. Then I put on high quality flat Bontrager pedals, and a RockShox Judy front suspension Fork. I then Saturday front rack panniers with a rear rack with panniers so that I could go to the grocery store or go bike touring. In the last 1800 miles of riding it almost every day where I live in a very hilly area and I'm talking steep hills in some cases. The rear wheel from the torque has Twisted the spokes where I have broken three spokes over the last 1800 miles. This is just with normal writing no off-road extreme stuff. The way the rear wheel is laced with spokes is very unprofessional. It is not laced correctly and this is why the wheel causes the spokes to break twist etc. I have dealt with Amazon and several occasions and all they wanted to do was return my money. Or give me money off. My upgrade on this will be to install a the thing 500 watt rear hub motor conversion kit. Just this last week I noticed that the LCD display is no longer registering miles or real-time speed. The 48 volt battery is held up very well for as much writing as I do considering the weight of the bicycle with everything on it and my weight at 250 lb. So basically I've rebuilt the bike almost entirely except for the wheels in the frame and the front chainring. Fortunately I have 35 years experience as a bike mechanic, with a lot of patience. Bottom line is if I was to do this over again I would go to a local bike shop and buy any bike from them where I can actually get real time face to face support if there are any issues.
I'd suggest a U lock and a cable. The U lock will go through the middle of the bike frame and rear wheel, and against a bike rack or sign post. The cable will wrap through the U lock and through the front wheel. I'd also suggest taking the battery with you if possible. amzn.to/4c68DRJ
@@uprite88 The lock will deter people, but anyone who is determined can steal it. I lost my key and was able to pick it with a paperclip. That's how easy it is to unlock.

@@ADOG-pr7lv The feeling of "fast" is subjective. To a new rider electric bikes usually feel fast. If you've ridden on faster ebikes then it may feel slow. Overall I'd say it's average.
The electric hub was able to sustain power for moderate hills. There's gears, so you can always shift to the appropriate gear and take any steep hill. If you want to be able to cruise up steep hills then I'd suggest a 750W or 1000W motor. Thanks.
Hey awesome video really in depth, just wanted your opinion on something, the link you put in the desc brings me to the 350W one for 449 do you think I should get the 500W one for like 60 more? their product page only says its 3 miles faster. do you think its worth it?
Hello @gamerkemder9001, if $60 isn't a lot then I would always consider buying the biggest motor possible. 500W should help with hills and acceleration. I was told there's a way to unlock the max speed, so theoretically it would be faster with the larger motor. See the settings in the video description to change the max speed. Thanks!
There are a bunch of settings you can adjust in the menu but I don't know what they actually do because the descriptions aren't very clear. Have you gotten into this at all? Any hacks you know of to make it go faster?
Hello, I went over the settings in the video at 15:02. ua-cam.com/video/BLrr2mAQ1U4/v-deo.html Sorry, I don't know of any hacks for the controller to make it go faster.
@@ColinLeung no...there are way more settings than that. If you press + and - at the same time for 3 seconds you enter a whole other set of 20 options. I have a list of what those options are but the descriptions aren't very clear. Thought you might know since you went pretty in depth on this bike.
@@camaperture8116 I found another youtube video that had a link to the other menu options on pages 3 and 4. drive.google.com/file/d/1SyAxHLs7-iTS9C2In9hHKzZhQu6_HJBN/view It seems like you can set P08 to 100 to unlock the max speed. Someone claimed they got 26mph because it was based on the motor and battery. P08: speed limit: range 0-100 km/h,100 indicates no speed limit, Here the input data indicates the maximum speed of the vehicle: for example, input 25, indicating that the maximum speed of the vehicle willnot exceed 25 km/h; the drive speed is maintained at a set value, Error :±1 km/h;( average speed limit for booster and switch) Note: the value here is based on km. When the unit setting is converted from km to mile, the speed value of the display interface is automatically converted to the correct mile value, but the speed limit data set at this menu under the mile interface is not converted, which is inconsistent with the actual display mile speed limit value; Note: P09-P15 menu is valid only in communication state

Hello @01mrjsh, thanks for the comment. I gave the bike to my dad, and cannot measure the head tube, stem, and handlebar diameter to offer a product suggestion. Depending how high you want to raise it I suspect you can add a few spacers on the tube below the stem. Additionally you can purchase an angled stem that fits the head tube, or a new quill/gooseneck stem that has the same tube and handlebar diameters. They all function similarly.
It may be possible to disable the pedal assist, not pedal or lower the pedal assist to 0 during a turn. In the video description it lists all of the programming settings. You may be able to set P05 gear power to 0, or P10 drive mode set 0. I don't have the ebike anymore to test it. Thanks
The controller settings allow changing it to 48 and 60v. I have not personally confirmed whether the hub can handle it. I'd match the battery with the hub voltage just to be safe.
Yep, im pushing 3300 miles on it in about a year of owning it. I have the 500w/27.5 inch model and its served me well. In terms of brakes, you do have to adjust them occasionally so it helps to carry a bike tool kit with allen wrenches to do that when needed, and basic maintenance like chain lube, and whatnot. Only caught 3 actual flats, 2 of which were my fault lol. Overall solid bike for the price ( its around $600 ish nowadays). I luckily bought it with 50 miles on it for $400 from a trusted seller so im glad for newcomers coming into it, they can get it for around the same price.
@@ColinLeung I sure will... already have a panniers digital camo bag for it that will go over the rear wheel I ordered for a pedal powered mountain bike I own. I'm going to camouflage the bike in the same or similar pattern since I paint a lot and adding a carbon fiber mountain bike seat to it... to match my carbon fiber and titanium left leg I lost in 2018 below the knee. I'm adding some RockBro Pedals with spikes similar to golf spikes to this bike so my amputated leg stays on the pedal on the left side like I do my mountain bikes... and will see if I have to use my other left leg prosthetic or not that is carbon fiber and stainless steel with a RAMPRO ankle on it that swivels like a real foot. I mainly used that leg for motorcycles and scuba diving and such stuff but also good for rowing boats for the ankle swivel. Any way this bike will be useful for my hunting trips... and more... with the pannier bag I can carry my bull-pup semi automatic rifle or my archery gear into the local wilderness here. I'm adding a phone carrier to the bars as well for GPS and what I'm adding it isn't a lot but seen people do a lot with these bikes so decided to put one to use myself. Wish you a great day and I'll see if I can post a video of what I do when my E-Bike arrives and I get it painted the way I want and all together.... building what they send is easy... hardest part will be waiting for my paint to dry... LOL... thanks for writing and have a great day.... and I forgot I even bought a helmet to match the camouflage of all of it that is full face for mountain biking because of my missing left leg... I live near Fort Bragg and they call it Fort Liberty now and that still makes me laugh a bit... the political BS of renaming one of the biggest military bases in the USA. But this bike will be useful around here... for what I have planned for it... appreciate your video. Wish you and all those watched your video the best... and will update when I get done with mine and upload a video here with a link for you of my modifications of this E-Bike and for the fun of it will put my "gear" on it the way I plan to use it for hunting seasons and such... turkey hunting here is great as well as deer but also will use this E-Bike for local hunting in stores and such... nice machine... later....
Id go for it. I have over 3000 miles on it and tis still running fine. Tbh probably the only thing youll have to keep an eye on are the brakes. Just carry a bike tool kit/allen wrench with you and adjust them when needed and youll be fine. I changed out my first set of brake pads after 1500 miles and man it made a world of difference lol. Everything else works as expected. The bike is dope and honestly helped me convince a ton of people to get into ebikes since this bike looks "good" imo, especially when you add rmirrors, lights, phone mount, etc to it. I have the 27.5 model and i dont regret it one bit. I will say though, after a year of riding it, im considering buying a 2nd ebike, one that can go to about 30 or so mph for abit more speed, and then use this bike as a backup bike to ride whenever the weather is less than ideal. I honestly love this bike to much to sell it now.

Thanks Matt. What does the plastic look like, and where is it located? There shouldn't be any plastic on the tire. There's a reflector on the wheel, or the tire valve cap.
@Colin Leung it's located around the gear hub on back tire, only on the right side. It says XH-C01, what it looks like to me is a mud guard or something but unsure.

Colin, I’ve just purchased one of these bikes! With me being 6’3 I’m going to purchase a gooseneck extension to raise up the handle bars. I’m seeing various gooseneck dimensions available. Would you happen to know what would work best for this bike? Thanks!
Hello Jason, I'm not familiar with specific products that fit this bike, but any stem that has identical dimensions to the fork tube and handlebar should work. Just get a long enough gooseneck for your liking.
I got it all squared away. I’m new to all this. Haha I thought there were various dimensions but more-less, it’s just length sizes for height. I watched a few videos on how to install it and it all came together!
I just got mine put together last night. Super solid and high quality construction. This little engine will take off!! Since I’m 6’3 I added on a gooseneck extension and it’s perfect now! I haven’t been on a bike in over 20 years so it’s been really exciting to get back to riding! I can’t wait to get readapted to riding again and put some milage on this thing! Two notes: I could only get about 32 psi of tire pressure in my tires and they are firm! Use your fingers to press into the tire. If they are firm, stop there. Also, I noticed the handlebar reflector is super loose. In the packaging materials you’ll get some thin black foam. Cut a small thin strip of it and feed it into the underside of the reflector bracket. Once you tighten the screw it’ll make a solid tight connection with the bar. Go buy this bike you’ll love it!!
What is the issue with your rear wheel? Did you buy this one specifically? I'd suggest contacting the manufacture, or look for a model number listed on your hub and search google for the same one. 3rd party hubs may or may not work with potential modification, so it's easier if you get the same one.
I have had some problems with the wheel to where I've over adjusted it to the point that it's out of round, and it's driving me CRAZY, so I'd like to order another one, because buying another bike is totally out of the question
@@bowhunk If the hub is still good you may be able to have a bike shop true the spokes to get it round, or replace the rim if it's that bad. It may be cheaper than buying a new rear wheel.
Not too good. You could do gravel paths, but dont think about downhill. The brakes on this thing need to be upgraded, they are a cheap pair of $15 chinese mechanical disk brakes and they wore off about 2 months into me buying this thing, I bought a pair of 4 piston hydrualic brakes and it does the job perfect
Hello, there should be a bolt at the top of the headset (the top of the fork). Loosen that to rotate the fork. If that doesn't work then also loose the 2 bolts holding the handlebar stem that's also connected to the top of the fork. Then tighten the headset bolt and then the stem. I hope this helps.
Hello Carson, I charged it once before giving the ebike to my dad. I believe it turned green. It should be fine if it doesn't turn green as long as the battery indicator shows that it's full. @@ColinLeung sweet, I actually answered my own question shortly after I asked this, I just didn’t leave it plugged in long enough but it finally went green for me the other night, the 500w seems crazy fast compared to the 350v on takeoff btw. Hello Victor, are you able to adjust the pedal assist level to ensure that it's on? Does the pedal assist function work? If all of those work and the throttle doesn't then the throttle wire may be loose or defective. If the pedal assist is on, and the pedal assist and throttle don't work then the wire to the motor may be loose, or the motor may be defective. Is it easy to find a spare battery? I'm concerned with buying an eBike and then at some point finding out the battery it comes with is all there is. This isn't just in case the one that comes with is DOA or defective. I like to have more range than one provides. Or are there batteries that are compatible with a variety of these?
Hello, someone else asked about replacement batteries and it seems like the company does not sell replacements. I gave the bike to my dad, and cannot verify, but oftentimes these ebikes have 2 wires (positive and negative) on the battery that connect to the controller. As long as you find a battery that matches the wattage then any replacement should work.
@@cojil There's also a variety of voltage rated options and connectors. This is the ebike I ordered and found Amazon doesn't appear to have options that work with it as is. The motor is 36v, below the cutoff of any higher voltage battery with a good BMS designed to protect the cells. It's okay though. It shouldn't be too difficult to swap the mount.
I really need help on the front wheel as i tried doing the thing where you hold brake when loosen and then tighten but it didn’t work, also my back wheel makes a ticking noise when i’m not pedaling. Do you have advice?
For the front wheel you can loosen the brake caliper and using your eyeball try centering the disc between the brake pads. Tighten one bolt not all the way, but enough to hold that side in place and slide the other side of the caliper so the disc is centered. Then tighten both. What kind of ticking noise is it? Is the brake pad hitting the disc, or something else hitting the rim?
It depends how deep the sand is. It may be okay on sand trails that are hard. I'd suggest adding thicker tires if you're going on loose sand like the beach.
You can add a front wheel DD gearless motor on these gear motors. I bought a Mukkpet 350watt Gear motor with 48v 10-4ah . Gear motors car ride long distance of over 10 miles non stop but at minimum speed of 20mph. Adding a DD gearless like a 2000watt can speed up bike to 36 to 40mph for long distance without needing bike to cool down as most DD gearless motors due. With th is s Dual set up, makes the e bike into a 3000$ value e bike due to added performance.

Using the gear motor on cruise control, I turn on the 2000watt and give a light twist to move along. Both batteries end up having more hold due to both motors . The main gear batteries saves the most. Both motors use less torque on start up and when gear ⚙️ on cruise and I use the Boost off the Gearless, main batteries wattage on cruise control is ,ZERO and the Gearless motor never has any resistance due to starting off the speed of the Gear ⚙️. I put thought months ahead of choosing right method of watching other Dual builds. Just get new tires for it. The stock tires and tubes are very cheap. Don't risk a flat. Other than that it's a great bike especially considering the price.
This bike is garbage , don't buy it! Trust me , after three months the battery lasts maybe 4-7 miles and doesn't have any speed, drops to 12 mules an hour. We've had several battery changes but it just happens again. I can't make it to work, 7 miles away before the battery dies. It may be good for city riding but countrybwith lack of places to change and the fact there are hills , ot doesn't last. Anything less then 39 miles is very low, and maybe short citybrides on flat ground, it's should be okay, b7t it still get shorts, brake wear out every month, and top speed is 19.5 , that's full power with pedaling hard. It's not a good bike for the money.

Happy riding, Kid!
Thanks Jeff. Let me know how you like it after you ride it. Looking forward to seeing your review!
(Short summers here in Michigan)
I had considered paying 2 or 3 times the price for a higher-end, mid-drive e-bike but glad that I didn't.

Thanks for the feedback, John!
Thanks for sharing your experience with this bike
I actually brought mine into the shop the other day for this reason and they were just unaligned. They work great now.

I AM THINKING ABOUT GETTING ONE DOES IT FEEL FAST
@@ADOG-pr7lv The feeling of "fast" is subjective. To a new rider electric bikes usually feel fast. If you've ridden on faster ebikes then it may feel slow. Overall I'd say it's average.
Hows the bike going up hill? Thats my main motivation for getting an ebike
Hello, I went over the settings in the video at 15:02. ua-cam.com/video/BLrr2mAQ1U4/v-deo.html
Sorry, I don't know of any hacks for the controller to make it go faster.
@@ColinLeung no...there are way more settings than that. If you press + and - at the same time for 3 seconds you enter a whole other set of 20 options. I have a list of what those options are but the descriptions aren't very clear. Thought you might know since you went pretty in depth on this bike.
@@camaperture8116 I found another youtube video that had a link to the other menu options on pages 3 and 4.
drive.google.com/file/d/1SyAxHLs7-iTS9C2In9hHKzZhQu6_HJBN/view
It seems like you can set P08 to 100 to unlock the max speed.

Is there a way to defeat the auto assist and only have it come on with the throttle? Auto assist when making a tight turn is pretty dangerous.
It may be possible to disable the pedal assist, not pedal or lower the pedal assist to 0 during a turn. In the video description it lists all of the programming settings. You may be able to set P05 gear power to 0, or P10 drive mode set 0. I don't have the ebike anymore to test it. Thanks

I bought mine back in November last year 350 watt. and installed a 36volt 15ah battery with a BMS I have about 850 miles on but it seems to not have the jolt getting going it once had do think the controller may be the issue
Sorry to hear that
did you get it figured out?
I have had one for 3 months so far so good.
I'm glad it's working out for you!
how is your holding up?
Ive fgound some on the facebook marketplace
@@cojil That fit this by default? Or did you have to modify something?
@@uncrunch398 depends on the bike you have I guess? 350watt or 500watt try to get the one that goes for ur bike
Is the battery water proof
The listing says it has a IP54 waterproof Lithium-Ion battery. Thank you, Kevin.
@@ColinLeung Thank you soo much I fixed the front wheel and everything else it swell. Thanks a lot!
@@owenlehne Great. I'm glad you got it fixed!
Would this bike do ok on sand trails?
It depends how deep the sand is. It may be okay on sand trails that are hard. I'd suggest adding thicker tires if you're going on loose sand like the beach.
nice video build
Thanks Mr. Hooke!
what’s the actual top speed
I read that some people got around 27mph
You can add a front wheel DD gearless motor on these gear motors. I bought a Mukkpet 350watt Gear motor with 48v 10-4ah . Gear motors car ride long distance of over 10 miles non stop but at minimum speed of 20mph. Adding a DD gearless like a 2000watt can speed up bike to 36 to 40mph for long distance without needing bike to cool down as most DD gearless motors due. With th is s Dual set up, makes the e bike into a 3000$ value e bike due to added performance.
That sounds awesome. Do you have to have two controllers, and connect both motors to the battery?
@@ColinLeungThere is an adapter to use 2 batteries as 1. Believe the controller as well , but no , I'm using 2 motors, 2 batteries, separate controllers. Just added the throttle bar on left side of the DIY or the factory made. Bike is very light of small frame 26inch MTB, 79.lbs. This way of the Gear ⚙️ makes the Gearless to ride long distance without having to cutt out to cool down for a few minutes ( they only can go so far high speed for 3 to 4 miles before cutt off mode) . Very Practical and for sure, this best and likely the standard of the Dual makes as most overkill defeating the purpose of the cons.
@@ColinLeung I use a 26 inch Kit of wheels being 2.125 wide to handle contact pressure but the kit I used is a Jauopay but they come without tire, jus double wall rim. I used just as a Turbo Booster so I bought kit without Display. My main Display reads mph of using, just a booster job and speed reading is good enough to avoid Clutter or crowded handle bars( just throttle bar and power button is cut off)
@@ColinLeung oh, the kit hub is Disc Brake Compatible of the screws.
@@user619tlsdca5 Wow. That sounds very intense and fun. Nice setup
Really like this E-Bike and added a rack to the back and Pannier Bags and does very well for me.... also ordered fenders for it which will arrive today and put bigger pedals on it with the "golf cleats" so feet don't slide off since I'm missing my left leg... wonderful machine in my opinion. I have rode it in rain but not heavy rain so fenders are necessary but I try to avoid rain with all the electrical stuff on it but also have covers for the bike in Pannier or saddle bags if a heavy down pour shows up while riding I can just cover the bike and wait it out if short duration for protection of the electrical aspect angle of this machine. Nice bike... I have a lot of plans for using it...
Thanks for sharing your experience with this ebike. I'm glad you enjoy it
@@ColinLeung if the battery ever needs replacing in it do you know the best place to obtain an extra battery for it, I know that average about 250 US dollars for a battery for these things... so probably having a back up battery is a good idea... any way if you know how that can be done with out too much struggle let me know and thank you for your review... helped in my decision for this Tot Guard E-Bike. I like it a lot... and if I can keep it going for years I will... with replacement items such as battery and brakes and on and on... helps a lot for the missing leg and I use an Össur carbon fiber and titanium left leg... that is put together similar to bike parts... LOL! Like carbon fiber seats and such and I put one of those on my pedal power mountain bike that I camouflaged for hauling stuff into hunting areas here where I live... any way thank you for your review and tips. Appreciate it all a lot.
@@dwightemery5694 Hello, I'd contact the manufacture for a direct replacement battery. I gave the bike to a family member, and cannot check the contacts. You may be able to buy any ebike battery that has positive and negative leads to connect to the controller, and mount to the bottle holder screws.
@@ColinLeung thank you...

@@ColinLeung oh, what speed app are you using on your bike?

@@ColinLeung I do have a slight rub
@@ColinLeung do you know if the tires are puncture proof?
Hi can I have an update? Planning to buy this
Hello @tan334, I gave the ebike to my dad. He hasn't said anything bad about it, so I'm assuming it's working well.
Great video thanks.
Thanks for the comment, Randall!
You can get the 500 watt now for the same price. 😊
Great! That sounds like a better deal
There us a governor on the bike as well. It can be taken off to increase speeds. Its nit hard at all. To maintain the level I'd suggested youtubing hiw to remove this governor. Id definitely go with an engwe bike, two batteries and higher soeed , and akso 70 miles is your distance. Even if smart, get an extra battery ifnyou get one of these. 8 miles limit per batteries after a few month's, especially when country riad riding, and withbwind its far worse.
Thanks for the input!
Thanks you really answered everything I got one coming next Friday my biggest question are they waterproof lol
Hello, I suspect that the bike is water resistant, but not waterproof. Meaning it should be fine riding in the rain, but not submerged in water. I personally would not leave it out in the rain without a cover.
@@ColinLeung 🙏
How can I get a replacement and extra battery?
Hello Esteban, I would contact the manufacture for assistance on replacement batteries.
@@ColinLeung
I contacted support but they don't sell extra battery.
@@estebangarcia9105 Dang. Perhaps you can purchase a different battery from Amazon or online, and hook it up. I suspect the connection is just a positive negative terminal. I gave the bike to my dad, so I'm not able to confirm.
Can it go of curbs and stuff?
It can, but it's not a dedicated mountain bike and weighs more. I would not suggest doing it too frequently, or it may damage the suspension
Not really. After a bit the battery will get loose and it makes an awful noise. Suspension is pretty crappy too
Is there a replaceable battery????
I haven't seen one available on their site, so I'd suggest contacting the manufacture.
@@ColinLeung will do 👍
I appreciate not skipping much but wtf I'm so lost on 10:02 I'm not sure if ours came the same exact way or if you did anything off camera
Ok what the fuck NOW I GET IT BUT THERE'S NOTHING TO COVER MINE WITH I ONLY HAVE THE SPRING

Thanks for the comment!
Does it come with a horn?
yes, it comes with a horn and a headlight
You the man
Thanks Andrew
can you do a taking off speed limiter on the tot guard pleaseeee
Hello XD, I'm not too familiar with that process, but can post a video if someone advises how to do it.
The speed limiter can not be taken off
If the speed limit could be removed this bike would run about 40mph
cheese, not a 350w. the hub motor is limited by gearing as is the bike.
❤🎉 love mine awesome
I'm glad you love yours!
The bike is unstable like the fork is set at the wrong angle. If you take hands off the bars it wants to spin, crash waiting to happen at 20mph......
Sorry to hear that. I did not experience the fork wanting to spin when I let go of the handlebar. Was the fork bent during transport, or handlebar or fork not aligned properly?
love it
Thank you, Mary!
Does it say anywhere what class this ebike falls under?
I'm sure it's Class 2. Per Google Class 1: eBikes that are pedal-assist only, with no throttle, and have a maximum assisted speed of 20 mph. Class 2: eBikes that also have a maximum speed of 20 mph, but are throttle-assisted. Class 3: eBikes that are pedal-assist only, with no throttle, and a maximum assisted speed of 28 mph.
@@ColinLeung Thanks!!
I've had my bike since about March and the battery pack is so loose that I can't take the battery off at all
Sorry to hear that
you can remove it. You need the key to unlock it then you can just pull it out, then you need to tighten the screws that are there,
Get a proper spanner and find you get another turn on them pedals from that usless thing!
Thanks for the comment. I have a full bike tool kit with the proper spanner, but only used the tools provided to show viewers that the tools that it came with work.

My battery for Tot guard will not charge
Sorry to hear that. I'd suggest contacting the manufacture for a replacement if you already tried different outlets, and made sure the brick is lit and connection to the battery is secure.
what’s the range on full throttle?
Probably 15-20 miles
Kinda seems like all ebikes under 1g are the same.
This company is terrible I have a 27.5 in48 watt500volt motor and can't get a hold of them to get a replacement controller.ordered on from Amazon and they sent the wrong one any suggestions would be helpful
Sorry to hear that. I found this contact page on their website. totguardbike.com/contact-us/
This page says to contact them through Amazon, which I assumed you tried. totguardbike.com/customer-help/
You can try messaging them through Facebook. facebook.com/p/TotGuard-Ebike_Official-100083660456241/
Worst case I'd return the controller through Amazon if it's within the return window, and order a different one.
Let me know how it goes
Just get new tires for it. The stock tires and tubes are very cheap. Don't risk a flat. Other than that it's a great bike especially considering the price.
Yes, new tires would be a nice upgrade.
