You nailed the solo groove part! For me it's sometimes difficult to recognize what the bass is doing underneath the higher pitched instruments, you uncovered a lot of Justins ideas that I previously didn't even notice.
Great job but there's a much easier hand position for the part at 7:04. keep the ring finger anchored on 5th fret low D, for most of the phrase. instead of stretching to the 8th fret A string you just use your index on the high D, 3rd fret. reverse octave shape. you can hit almost all the notes for the pattern with your ring anchored on the low D. But for the final few notes you have to move to the 8th fret on the low D (ring or pinky) and then index on the 5th fret...then you switch fingers back to the ring on the 5th fret. You're doing two or three awkward finger swaps in the middle of the phrase in order to play it your way. It sounds good and you pull it off but I think my way is going to be much more comfortable and requires less thought about finger placement during this section. Also during the section at 8:12 I've always started the phrase with the open high D and 2nd fret G, then moving on to play everything else the same.. Lots of people seem to play it your way which is fine but I really like how easy it is to just hit the open D rather and I think it sounds cooler too.

I'll have to play it that way next time I run through this song!
