On UA-cam, I watched a man grow I guess, grass on his roof. So, I shared this with my aunt Peggy. I jokingly said I might as well grow trees on my roof top. Then I heard you say, trees are growing into the homes in Ireland. 😆! For real?

We've no regrets about making the move. It was a no brainer to be able to buy a house and be mortgage and rent free. If you have any questions please let me know. I do plan to make some more videos about the finances and logistics and everything else that got us to where we are now.

More and more are moving to France for the same reasons. Look a little more to the country for a permanent home. To have a garden and pantry.😊

    Hi
It seems like I have found your vlog a few months down the line yr insulating the floor. Just come back to this one to see where it all began. Looking forward to seeing how it all goes.
I came over in 2002 from Wexford
    All the best

On a wet winters day you could very well be back in Wexford over here. It's been quite the journey to get to the point of insulating floors in just four months with the kids and dogs in tow! I've to do a video about that journey once I get a second. You must like it here if you stayed. What region did you settle in?

      Hi
We lived initially in Sarthe, in a town called La Flèche. I renovated our house there. We moved to the Alpes over 10 years ago ..

Good plan. After our first holiday just checking out possibilities (like you will be doing), we chose to come a few times to our chosen area, over our last few working years to check out that it met our list of requirements. Been here for years now and happy with our choice.

Bon courage ! Prenez en compte les perspectives climatiques (surtout dans le sud) et l’impact touristique qui rend le quotidien compliqué en été …

Hello, we are Dutch and have lived in the West of Ireland. We now live in the UK. We want to move back to Ireland, but we are facing the same problem as ye. We are therefore also thinking of moving to France.

We left Ireland on the 14th of August and had a holiday while getting a feel for the different regions and then viewing properties online in the region we were in. After just over four weeks we made an offer on a house and we should have it some time in November for the price of a few years rent in Ireland. I did a quick update on Instagram about it and will do a indepth video here once I get a minute. We are delighted to say the least.

Aha, found your beginning video for your home search. You found a great place and sounds like you are more than a bit attached to it.

It's great to have that video for the time capsule. It's interesting looking back on the videos where there is a plan to see how that plan turned out. We're not doing too bad at the moment I think given the we didn't really have anything concrete planned but we've ticked most of the boxes from this video. The big thing is if we stay here or sell and try and trade up. We do really like the house and the area so who knows what will happen next. Definitely want to try and keep things as stable as possible for the next while as it was a lot to ask of the two boys.

We are just south of Limoges in Haute-Vienne. It's totally new to both of us but we are loving it so far. There is a great little community in the area. We did look at Midi Pyrenees but our travels didn't take us there and we some how just ended up here!

@@dublinvanlife466 ahh ok. My cousins uncle on his mum's side lives somewhere near Limoges. I think he owns either an "Irish pub " or some sort of cafe or restaurant. Never visited Limoges myself, but have driven through it when travelling back up through France. I lived on and off around Toulouse between 2008 - 2017.

You should forget about sending your son's to school, home schooling is the way to go. Education has become indoctrination, 💪🔨🪓🌲🇮🇪🇮🇪

😂 jeez people like you. My kids love school, keeping them at home with anyone’s conspiracy theories just limits them socially and educationally.
