Probation is my goal right now. I’m just starting, tomorrow will be my third day of academy and I finish academy on Monday. I’m in a good office with a lot of older people working so it’s a good time for me to hop in. I’m excited to get in there to finish my probation time. @MailmanNick carried much longer than you have. You ate wrong to assume. Any twenty year veteran has thick skin. Ans there is good reason why carriers are seeking the rights again to collective bargain for their own contracts. Your response speaks volumes about you, frankly. Maybe you are a 204B or close to management. Doesn't matter. The attrition rate at thr USPS speaks for itself. But you would likely say those who HAVE left (evennif they have worked many times longer in years than you) are thin skinned.

It's funny because you were right about the laziness these days. Over in my metropolitan area they are so desperate for carriers that they hire people as PTFs from the start. There was this one youngster, about 18-21, in our academy. He arrived sloppily dressed, spent one day in the academy sleeping the whole time, paid no attention to anybody or anything, then quit the next day. He claimed he caught the virus, but I think he was just too embarassed to admit the real reason why he quit. Oh well.

I’m working at usps for 7 months, and definitely I don’t recommend this job, is really hard, a lot of work, that doesn’t pay off, at least in California, is not a lot of money, and you put your health on risk, without benefits for 2 years, im married and I have a lot of problems because I’m always working, I get home tired and moody, and trying to negotiate a day off with management is a nightmare. If you call sick they put you in a nasty rout the next day, love you nick but that is the real world at usps

The regulars milk their route and don’t give a crap if management gives them crap. You’ll learn to not care either what management tells you. If you’re part of the union, learn your rights to always be ready to punish management if agreements are broken.

It is not because we give up, I was discriminated against for being Mexican in a large base in West Virginia, maybe you will not pay attention to this message, but other things count as discrimination, and not only me, many people were run from my generation. I entered this company to be able to have a long career but also the managers are the ones who don't care about anything or anyone the person who was in charge of the union at that base don't support anything my worst experience of my life now I'm working in a company road construction and they pay me much better than what some regulars earn in usps maybe you won't have the same luck as me keep advancing maybe you have better managers
