Great to see Bill Monroe’s tunes still played and admired! This is by far one of my favorite Bill Monroe tunes. Bill gave the number the title by the little run played Doc Watson at the beginning of this tune. Both Monroe and Watson were on tour out in Hollywood when Monroe wrote this tune. So Bill titled it “Watson‘s Blues” It truly is hard to beat a good Bill Monroe tune! Thanks for sharing!
I’d really hoped to be at this concert. But Covid slammed me down the Friday before… thank you for your post. It helps me imagine what it was like. Great video and sound. ❤🎉🎉
Thank you so much! I hate to hear that you had to miss the show, but Covid was definitely pretty nasty around that time. I missed one show myself because of it. This was my first late night jam though and it blew me away!
No Doubt that this is as close to perfection as it gets, very well done guys. Was in awe as it was being watched on you tube, as a matter of fact I think i'll watch it again. I would love to see them go on tour together. You guys R-O-C-K. Thanks for the perfect video, Be careful & be safe.
Pickin and grinnin, awesome. Just throw in a lid sittin on a porch swing, out in the woods, wearing a cap kinda sideways, pickin a banjo. Sounded very nice.
You’re welcome Bill! I checked out a couple of your songs on UA-cam and really liked them. Keep up the great work! I used to have a ‘65 Mustang years ago, but spent all my time trying to restore it and never got to travel much in it. Sure loved that car though!
@@tennesseeed3739 When I was in the army in 1970 my wife Rosalie traveled from fort to fort while I trained troops for Vietnam and we had everything we owned in that 1966 Mustang. We ended up in Germany. Also my song Sailing to Freedom got some good play on the site Sailing into Freedom starting on episode 265 on you tube. Thanks for your interest have a beautiful day. By the way Rosalie and I are still going strong!
@@burlingtonbill4687 that is such a great story and wonderful that you all are still together after so long! Thank you for your service and I hope you have a nice day as well!
@@muleboy1956 @zollnec1 I was going to write the same thing. To the younger 'Grassers," everything is Del's. They pretty much all think that "Vincent Black Lightning 1952" is his also. No matter how many times I tell them it is Richard Thompson's song and like Del, plays the hell out of it. Hey kiddies...dig a little deeper in the well and you will pull out some fine freshwater you have never tasted before:)
Purty good. Nice to see Billy playing with one of my favorites.both of these Cats are soulful players.Superlative !!!
Great performance. Two great musicians playing together to sell the tune. Great skills and no showing off. Thank you for bringing this to us.
Two best together what a great surprise and the excellence they easily produce

"The Boy George of bluegrass!"
How so? He dyed his hair a few times ? He has brought a bunch of new listeners to bluegrass which only keeps it alive.
No not even close.
Marty stole my girlfriend. 😆😆😆😆
It’s Del s song
it was written by Bill Monroe. He named it after Doc because of the lick he added at the beginning.
