- In honor of the birthday of our Hero a few more uploads from me today! : ))
Fantastic show recorded at the NEC in Vancouver on September 12 1983 during the Serious Moonlight Tour. Please enjoy! : )
I love how he shares the spotlight with other musicians like how he stared into the camera and move to the left of the stage... coolest rockstar of all time was a gentleman not a disrespectful punk
I was at this concert, it was my first concert ever. I was lucky enough to have seen Bowie 4 times. RIP Starman
Bless you and everyone else who had the fortune of meeting The Man Who Fell To Earth. Must’ve been a real sight to see.
I saw him twice in Germany. It was great.
I was at this concert in the Vancouver Coliseum... I'll never forget the night I got to say hello to my hero!
I was there too!❤
I was on the dock beside them when they were filming the video. We were doing deck repair on tug boats. They came over and asked us to be quiet. We obliged.
That entrance is just awesome. What an opener!
The center stage rhythm guitar solo by Carlos Guitaros, rightfully given to the most loyal of David's friends, remains as inspiring today as it did 30 years ago.
Carlos is great
The one and only mr. David Bowie...
The greatest entertainer period
Oh how we miss you beautiful Bowie! X
He is such a cutie! I especially loved the little wink at the in of the song💕
40+ years as a fan and still obsessed with this guy.
Vancouver, Canada I was there and I still remember it to this day so very well. It was a moving experience!
I was at this concert. It was the second show he did in Vancouver during this tour. At the end of the first concert he announced that they would be back in a couple of months to film the concert video, so I got to see this show twice that summer!!!
I was there as well, I'll never forget the night.😊
Genius opening sequence!
I was at the Serious Moonlight Tour in Belgium, the most wonderful two hours of my life
Great concert. Bowie forever!!
I was at that concert. Still have the concert stub and the shirt too. Great concert!
+BananaJSSI I was there too!
+Jacqueline Parkes both you guys are SOOOOOO LUCKY!!!!!!!!
I was 12, Bowie was everything, but my mom wouldn't let me go. In hindsight, I probably wouldn't have been able to even handle that much awesomeness! And Carlos...jeez...
Me too, ticket stubs from BOTH nights.
@@DanceintheRaine666 Awesome
Nice! I see my man Carlos Alomar weaving magic with that Guitar!
Teeth so fucking beautiful and the wink and smile MY HERO forever DAVID FUCKING BOWIE
I was 18 in '83 and living in So. Cal. Me and a buddy went to the US festival and the 3rd day, the final day was headlined by Bowie. The Clash were great on day 1. Judas Priest was day 2's best performance. Day 3 Bowie was transcendant. Just incredible. The best of all 3 days.
He was in such a good shape, amazing tour. What a band as well!
Saw the Tacoma Dome show on this tour. Amazing. Stellar band, great to see Carlos Alomar and Carmine Rojas, Earl Slick was on fire. Perfectly staged, every movement perfect. What a memory.
I was at that show. Best arena concert I ever saw, and I saw Bowie 3 more tours after.
Always comfortable and confident on stage!!
Sulffolk ice music loves David Bowie
One of the greatest performers I've ever seen. ATX early 90's Frank Irwin Center.
RIP Tony Thompson, ferocious drummer
Oh no! Damn, fantastic drummer. Very sad to hear 😢
Man.....I was 15 then and was a fan. Good times then. RIP and thank you for all the wonderful music 🎵🎸🎷🎶👏👍😎!
Yes.I thank him for all the beautiful music too! And that will live on forever! I saw David Bowie twice in mid 70's. He started out being an exceptional performer and continued on. Im so glad David was alive during my life time. RIP oh you pretty thing.🥰
The start of this video (which is actually a full concert which I remember seeing on television in 1983) is really cool and doesn't look dated after 38 years.
What style! Such swag!
The master of the stage, no one like him
This tune embodies David at his most vital and creative in 1977, combining his two best friends, Eno and Alomar, along with his own genius, which in the history of modern music since, and yet to come, will never, ever, be equalled.
I'm pretty sure look back in anger came out in 1979 along with the album lodger
My ref. was to the Berlin so called "zeit period" from which this tune is inseparable regardless of its date. The notion that this period was his most creative time is supported by wide authority: Philip Glass, Markand Thakar, and Eno -- just to name a few.
Tony Thompson on fire( drummer). RIP
Tony was a monster drummer.
TOTALLY! A legend!
Great concert I remember that blue suit he wore we were 21 we were on right side of stage about 6 rows from stage headed to Richard’s on Richard’s after that 🎉❤ he’s still missed 🙏🎤❤️
Excellent HD upscale
R.I.P David Bowie
I love his unique lapel on his suit with the W shaped cutout on both sides.
Great upload, teenaged me had this concert ... on Betamax hahaha!
Great gig. My first ever. First is best

Único gran artista y cantante gracias DAVID BOWI! !!!
bowie is super star.
Great song
I wish i would've been there...but i was just born 5 years later...
0:42 pure gold intro
The mix here is much closer to what a live concert sounds like in person. I wish they'd done that with Stage.
この兄弟素晴らしい。
ライブ全体でいきてる
Who knew pontius pilate could dance and sing so well?
What Stage presence
serious is the sun behind our sun.
I think I understand that wink at the end a little bit more just now! I had always thought he was just being obnoxiously cheesy, but he was actually winking at death! (And/or at something similar.)
Introducing Mr. Blonde Curly
Thanks
Interesting...the opening footage was shot in summer 1983 during demolition of the old Pier B-C. on the Vancouver waterfront The Canada Place Convention Centre with its famous "five sails" is built on top of that pier. Not sure why they staged that make-believe Chinatown market with those Chinese-Canadian extras in the middle of the demolition site though....doesn't seem to make sense but hey it's a music video so anything goes.
+Anthony Maw
The single was 'China Girl', so I guess it called for ethnic casting. The shoot was originally set in Chinatown, but the aerial shots were too difficult/dangerous, so it was moved to the Pier B-C site. There are some clips form the CT shoot included.
Whats the name of the camera effect in 1:30 cuz it looks sick ??
良いスーツだな。
Dam
@ 0:37 that old man doesnt even realize who hes had the privilege of standing next to lol
Bowie is Legend
かっこよすぎる😂
2:56 the sign is upside down you're welcome
That's why he smiles
What is the NEC? The venue was at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver for the video taping which was a double taping ( 2 nights). I was there for both night and the one that followed at BC Place Stadium in front of 45,000 fans.
+greg rocketman The BC Place show was in August 1983 and then the Coliseum (PNE not NEC) shows/live tapings happened in September 1983. 14 year old me was at all those shows, too
i see NEC listed everywhere on YT........ i see he played NEC arena in Birmingham UK close to the Vancouver date so probably got picked up extraneous somehow from wikipedia.................. i wasn't sure if BC Place and PNE x 2 was back-to-back but as mentioned it wasn't
Me too, I was there both nights at The Coliseum, an experiences etched indelibly in my brain.
Channeling Barbera Stanwick

バーナードトンプソンが最高だと思うな。アールスリックも。
ボンゾのアキレスみたいな
とんでもないドラミング
more cocaine/ maybe they could have played it faster
I was thinking the same thing! One of my fave songs but they killed the groove here.
It's funny how corny the production is ... Donald Trump got the idea for his wig from bowie
Horrible eighties sound!
