A lot of people say that these are going to go up in price even more over time and with the current market trend/history it’s possible. It matters how bad you want the watch and how much of a disposable income it is to you. This watch cost more second hand than some people make a year

Rolex improved on the design by introducing a rotor spinning 360 degrees, improving winding efficiency. Having said this, I would much prefer owning a 36 mm Turquoise dial Oyster Perpetual than a Daytona.

Got mine from my local A D my partners daily wear she would never sell it. I waited a year and tottaly respect my AD for sticking to his word, this was a first time buy from this dealer.
Keeping mine as well. I made a video about my acquisition in November. It got an unexpected bump from Patek madness. And by the time that calms down, there will be a second round of crazy when Rolex discontinues it later this year. In the meantime, AD’s are receiving nearly zero of these from Geneva. It’s crazy not to sell but just like you, I’d rather have the watch. I also think it will become impossible to replace if we sell. Cheers.

I would struggle not to sell this, for me it’s such a lot of money that I would be crazy not to sell. But even if it was loose change I would feel conflicted about owning something that was so over valued. I think I’d give it to the RNLI or some other worthwhile cause for them to sell at auction. My view has nothing to do with the watch as I would really like a black op or explorer to keep.
Waited two years myself and gratefully allocated a green one last week. I nearly turned it down, but when I tried it on it morphed into a beauty. Wears so well, discreet, yet classy. I love it already. Lost my love for my Hulk though so that’s back with the AD.

I’m glad Rolex gave the oyster perpetual the upgrades that the previous versions didn’t have……it somewhat annoyed me that they made it a ‘lesser’ model initially as so many people just want simplicity or an ‘under the radar’ Rolex…..

She liked it, we took it. the 41mm turquoise OP is nice looking. I have one and would guess that this is well and truly a bubble that may well burst at any time . I’ve spoken to a few dealers and I’ve been told there is lots of fishing with prices but they know of no biters at prices being advertised. They are getting offered the pieces at 28k or 29k and laughing at perspective sellers . I would sell at 40k but if honest I don’t think I have a cats hell in getting anywhere close to these figures .and quite rightly so it’s absolutely ludicrous..
I know the inevitable comparisons with Tiffany but this dial colour, in my opinion, is by far the most legible in the line up. What chances of getting one from my AD?
I much prefer the black out if my them all. The green looks ok I have also tried on the normal dark blue and it was nice but sort not gave me a migraine looking at it very glossy and too shinny for my wearing. The black just looked spot on in the large 41mm size. The green and the other colours will go up now the colours have been discontinued
I have the rhodium 39op. No longer feeling it, especially with resale prices being so juicy. To me it's no less loved then a Seiko sarb or aqua Terra. I hope the madness continues, tbh. Better prices for the sleepers 😉

Whenever people wonder why there's quite a few Rolex lovers pissed about the lack of availability when it comes to buying a Rolex at the ADs this example here fires their anger. Directing yourself to the grey market and pay more for your desired watch is totally acceptable if you want to have it now instead of waiting forever. But when it comes to this, like paying 10x the money of an entry level Rolex many folks freak out. Understandable.
Agree 100% personally i really like it, hence i bought one, but at £13,500, which was a little over I wanted to spend, but Im not selling, I happy I got one at a level that was acceptable to me.

I agree completely. I think at retail, they're probably worth the money but not at premium. But that is from a perspective of a logical thinker without investment or making a quick buck in mind. For a collector though, rational purchases is thrown out the window. A collector sees hot property through trends, historical and brand significants; regardless of price to add to their collection which will never be complete.

It's the hype. It's priced 10x MSRP but it's not necessarily "worth" it. Got a quite broad Rolex collection. Also owned the green OP41 but recently sold it with a reasonable markup. It just sat on the wrist as flat as a plate. Not comfortable at all. The dial is way too empty for that size and the thin bezel. Processing quality is typical industrial Rolex style. Fine. But looking at the stamped clasp you notice it is in Rolex terms just low-tier. Compare that with any other sports model (apart from Air King). I don't know any long-time watch enthusiast who would say this beater is actually worth paying significantly over list price. Buy what you really adore so you can lean back and calmly ignore the next hype to be fuelled by IG et al. "Man is the creature that doesn't know what to desire. So we look at other people in order to know."

The stock market crash is overdue at this point. The interest rates are getting higher as well. Soon, this whole watch artificial playground will burst and watches will be available at your local AD with little to no wait. No one stays at the top forever.
I don't get the hype behind this turquoise dial OP, I find it awful to look at. The red, pink and yellow are pretty bad as well. I do love the silver dial one. To each their own, I just don't get the hype.

I would rather have the new Rolex Explorer 1 then this OP tbh. I am always carefull with perticulair colored dials and this one is no exception. I am sure the hype will dissapear someday and there will be a lot of tears

I don't get the hype behind this turquoise dial OP, I find it awful to look at. The red, pink and yellow are pretty bad as well. I do love the silver dial one. To each their own, I just don't get the hype.
Having a “relationship” with your AD…🙄: buying watches you don’t want or need to perhaps get the phone call one day for the one you want…. 🤣. My wife would be really upset if I offered her a datejust just in the hope to treat myself to a Sub or a colored dial OP down the line….

Rolex were involved in the expedition, loaning a few watches to the team, but they were not worn on the debut summit as is often reported.
Smith's released a watch called the Everest, which was the same watch as the Deluxe worn by Hillary, but with Everest on the dial.
I've owned a Rolex OP since I was in my early twenties and had always believed it was worn during the summit too. I still own it, but now proudly next to it in the watchbox is a British made Smith's Everest from 1954. Both gorgeous watches.

It's not worth any more than 5K USD and these are just listing and no one believes they're selling at these levels other than flippers selling back and forth!! BTW I got a green 41mm two weeks after they came out from the AD, traded it straight up for an amazing vintage sub a year ago.

I unsubscribed simply because you are playing the game Rolex wants, You are probably the best watch channel on You Tube and your style and content is superb but reviewing watches that AD's advertise as retail but simply aren't available is dishonest.
