Same here in Japan. The OP is really hard to get in ANY SIZE AND COLOR. Rolex boutiques in Japan doesn't seem to have a "note of interest" kind of thing, so we'd have to visit a lot of ADs multiple times and be lucky to be there on the right time they have a stock. Japanese people calls this journey on visiting multiple ADs for months and years of a long time, a "Rolex marathon" ... Sounds stupid, doesn't it? Well, I've done it myself. I was on the rather lucky side to get my hands on the OP 34 silver dial in just half a month, but I'd never wanna do it again. I hope you'd be able to get yours soon without running around multiple ADs like I did.
I like the OP but for me, they’re probably a bit overpriced even at rrp let alone the crazy market prices. They’re really nice and simple watches and Rolex manage simple better than so many other brands (why can nobody else see that well made tapered bracelets, good clasps and classic proportions are important). I don't usually like Rolex watches at all in terms of design, but the exception is the Rolex OP. Sometimes I want to just sell my whole collection for the white 39mm version.
To be clear they didn't sue La Californienne over the mods. They sued because they were marketed as Genuine Rolex using Rolex's marketing iconography without authorization. The complaint uses the word counterfeit. As in NOT genuine. There are several companies out there that do the same thing. If La Californienne marketed their stuff as aftermarket modification I don't think Rolex would have sued. If not for the branding I think Rolex would have left it alone as all it did is give greater coverage that people out there were doing this. I really don't see Rolex seeing them as competition.
@@WatchCrunchOfficial they weren't. That was the whole crux of ROLEX's complaint. Part of the resolution - The settlement, which does not appear to have been settled financially, means that the company can no longer use any of the Rolex registered trademarks or any reproduction, counterfeit, copy or colourable imitation of the Rolex registered trademarks. This includes on its website, as a keyword, metatag or in any descriptive part of the site, in connection with the advertisement, promotion, offering for sale, or sale of its altered Rolex watches.
Love it. Matches a lot of Nee Mexico jewelry. Wanted the bigger one from the moment I saw it (early on) - no luck getting one at retail but got the Monta which is pretty amazing and has the date (which I like). Love the Oris Cervo Volante in blue too, and the Halios in pastel blue. So more affordable ones are out there.
Great video, Jonah's hair is mental but in a great way and he seems like a cool fella. It's a well made thing but I definitely couldn't pull off this watch, if I wore this down the Rugby Club I would get no end of shit. I just don't move in the right circles.

I would say a few years before the Oyster Perpetual hype really skyrocketed, I thought that was perhaps the perfect Rolex for me, IF I were to get one. It ties into a vintage 1974 Rolex Op I had, but the OP stood for Oyster Precision, and it was a manual wind movement instead of an automatic. Additionally, it was very clean and simple with a silver dial and 34 mm case. Because it is a manual wind only movement, and it's smaller than usual size, at least in these modern times, I used it as my dress watch which it fitted the role perfectly being so simple and clean and classic... And thin.. i forget measurements, but it was no more than 9mm thick. Anyways, going back to the modern OP, I had my heart set on the white dial 36mm. It has the double batons at the 963, but, this was before they did them on the latest ones with all the colorful dials. I thought it unique because only the 36mm had them at the time and the 34 and 39 had the single larger ones. Additionally, I like it had an outer minute track with some Arabic numerals which was also unique to the 36mm version I am referring to. Anyways, that was then. Now?.. Forget about it. No way I'm paying the huge markups. Still appreciate them, just I'd rather spend a lot less on many other watches which there are no shortage of good value watch offerings out there these days.
I also prefer the older OP looks. Considering my hate of Mercedes hands and the cyclopes, I feel like the OP is the only model I could get from rolex but to me they ruined the design. They made is very blah...
I am SO SO SO glad I was able to get both the Black-Dial not long after release from a local AD (first Rolex, first big watch purchase period actually), and I loved the thing so much I decided to ask them about the Yellow-Dial. LOVE the vibrant Yellow shown on the site, but the actual Dial looks like they squirted mustard on it and let it dry 🤮. Damn glad I was able to see a display model first. I decided on the Turq instead. But I always reach for the Black-Dial, still, so now I'm highly considering selling the "Tiffany" 🙄 and putting it toward my first RG piece since people are willing to pay so much. The OP is an amazing piece for the price (not talking market, as even the Black Dial is up there)... I was able to buy a 40mm No Date Sub from a family friend months ago, because even though I'm not a dive watch guy, that piece always gets to me somehow... Ended up hating it, and I honestly don't understand the Sub/GMT hype at all. I paid about the same for the TWO OPs as I did the Sub, and guess which two pieces I still own...? The OPs. A 39mm White or Rhodium Dial OP is in my future... And for some reason I absolutely love the white grape. But I'll have to try one on before copping a 36...
@@WatchCrunchOfficial I might as well ask, since you replied... Have you ever owned one? It's a piece I've never been able to find at a GM Dealer local to me (I've looked all around trying to find one I can just check out... The 41mm OP fits my wrist pretty perfectly, but there's just something about the 39mm OPs I love), and while I'm willing to pay Market for it since last I looked they were still priced pretty fairly. I'm definitely a "Black-Dial Guy" when it comes to most pieces, but the Rhodium 39 is just different enough to be worth the purchase. Especially if I can sell the Turquoise OP 41, buy a BNwB&P Rhodium 39, and have a very nice chunk of money to invest/put away in the fund I've been building up for my first gold piece. Hard to say no to that, though I feel like a dick selling the OP for so much after getting it for retail not long after release... If people are willing to pay it, I mean eh  The one question I've always had about that specific 39mm OP was legibility... In certain lighting conditions, it's almost like the stick markers turn black (while the 3/6/9 are obviously larger/lumed). Would love to hear your opinion if you've had any time with it hands on! Great content, by the way! No idea how I'm just being recommended your channel NOW, with some of the W&W content you've put out. Late to the party for sure, but still glad to be here. Keep up the great work!
@@idonotexist_ can't say I have, tried one on briefly. I think polished hands will always have that issue but the facets help to reflect light in different directions. Thanks for the kind words 😊
@@idonotexist_ Grand Seiko does legibility great but its better to see them in person. My regrets are not buying white OP39 and blue OP36 with 369 dial. I told myself there is no rush they are still going to sell them for years to come and I was so wrong. There is no dial that would speak to me in current Rolex offering since then. I ended up with Grand Seiko Spring Drive and watch is great - normies dont recognize the brand, nobody is asking if watch is fake and gliding of the second is unique. I learned that there are so many great watches at all price points that nobody should buy Rolex over MSRP.
I like the 36 mm Turquoise Rolex Oyster Perpetual a lot. In a perfect world, a 39 mm, single markers only model would exist. Check Long Island Watches ISL-85 to see what it would look like (bought one, by the way, since getting the OP is not an option for mere mortals)
In my opinion this watch will be a classic in years to come I think it's rrp is about right I am on the wait list for the milgauss this will also become one to have in a collection
Hearing about them suing a mom and pop shop that was doing this before they were doing it to their own watches actually has made me realize that I never want a rolex now. I hate it when companies do this and I will refuse to support one that terrorizes small groups like that, not that I'd ever have the money to get a rolex in the first place but wow did that just at the drop of a hat change my opinion on rolex as a company.
Are the ones trying to flip the watch for 10x msrp dumb or are the ones buying it dumb. It all relative if you ask me. I remember people calling those who were paying between 16-18k for this watch last year dumb. Now in retrospect were they dumb? Dealing with facts, this iin 41 is an extremely rare modern Rolex which was made for less that 18 months. A rare modern rolex is almost unheard of. It is more a less an unofficial limited edition release. I believe less than 2500 each of the coloured/ Stella dial OP 41’s were made. That’s an extremely limited number considering the demand they have stirred. They are presently solely sought after by serious collectors and I don’t see the price ever dropping below 40k…. Unless some other global phenomenon occurs…. And in that case everything may be gone to shit… not only the watch market.
This is the reason I won’t purchase a Rolex….plus I don’t have enough celiberity to purchase a Rolex or get a free Rolex. The bottom line: There are a hell of a lot of great watches that will go head to head with with a Rolex at a reasonable price.
Absolutely it's still on their website ..but not for us mortals ... preferred customers and AD's pals probably. Who can blame them? Buy for 5k and sell for 25k the next day? I think it must be difficult to know how to behave around such items.. and I really don't think I'll get that call for the green OP... ever

I bought a Speedy from my AD a few years ago (now sold...too big)... so hopefully that will help. Same as you Good luck with the Explorer...I tried on a two tone. I wasn't so keen on the dial , but it's totally personal preference .. brilliant watch
@@Valera_Scotland Also bare in mind you can swap the dial colour after purchase i.e. put your name down for the silver, then send to Rolex to get whatever colour you like (whatever is currently available). Loads of people did that to get the Tiffany blue. Costs about £1200 for Rolex to do this and there is absolutely no way of telling really. Might be an easier way to get the green dial variant that you want. You don't get to keep the original dial though...Rolex hold on to that unfortunately
I absolutely love the blue and the pink, they're a great $5k watch. The insane secondary market is not worth it and I think in time it will go back down when it stops being the it thing on social media
This move will make people crave even more new launches, it is a similar strategy as Patek did when discontinuing the Nautilus, it elevates the model to the icon status, also elevating the status of the company for the future (and maybe prices accordingly).
I can’t help but view it as a woman’s watch, and also wonder if Tiffany didn’t feel a little ruffled over it, all the more after they subsequently participated in the Patek release. If it weren’t for the boost the Nautilus gave the “Tiffany” OP, it would be profoundly karmic considering the legal action taken by Rolex against the California couple. As ever, Rolex remains highly polarizing.
You could n theory wear it 100% of the time, 24/7/365………other then maybe your bedding! routine. But is the AT and many others not fit the bill, of course they do. But soon, ill be getting my (my) handmade 3 hander from Dornbluth, yes it was a 12 month wait, but they tell you the cue length. Ceramic dial, bronze case, special hands, etched and lumed numbers, rotor dedicated to my son as a heirloom, 2 straps that you chose custom made………wtf is this Rolex thing. Its over the top.
Do not compare the iconic date just to a damn entry level watch how dare you the only reason that Daytona is famous is Paul Newman it is a bulky ugly ass watch til Paul wore it

If La Californienne marketed their stuff as aftermarket modification I don't think Rolex would have sued. If not for the branding I think Rolex would have left it alone as all it did is give greater coverage that people out there were doing this. I really don't see Rolex seeing them as competition.
I think la Californienne was pretty clear from the jump that they were not selling original Rolex
It seems everyone in on the pastel hype train which limits options in what people wear compared to black or white which goes with everything.
Yeah definitely more of a 4th or 5th watch in the collection.
What is the price of this watch now
Great video, Jonah's hair is mental but in a great way and he seems like a cool fella. It's a well made thing but I definitely couldn't pull off this watch, if I wore this down the Rugby Club I would get no end of shit. I just don't move in the right circles.
Haha Morgan, I think I also need hair like a rock star to pull of the watch 😉
@@WatchCrunchOfficial Yes Max we're condemned to sober watches, gutted.
I feel that the Turquoise, yellow or red are just too much of a target for thieves.... not that I can get one anyway, but it's good for my head to know that...I wouldn't feel right wearing one anyway... they are all fantastic. Any colour
Oh is that a big prob over there? They definitely attract attention!
@@WatchCrunchOfficial probably not up in Scotland as much.. but if I pass through London or travel, I'll feel the need to wear a G shock instead! Once I get the black or sunburst blue, I won't feel the same worry
@@Valera_Scotlanddidn't Adrian almost get robbed for his sub in London? 😬
@@WatchCrunchOfficial I believe so... I guess you can get robbed anywhere for anything! There will be someone crazy enough out there to rob me for my G shock too!!
I like how you matched your outfit with the watch 💯👊🏽
Thanks! I'm a dandy like that 😁
@@WatchCrunchOfficial I do the same 😆
I would rather have the Halios Seaforth in pastel blue. The blacked hands and markers make a big difference.
I saw a Helios the other day and now I want one! But they are also very limited 😭
Love the channel, keep putting out the good stuff!
I also prefer the older OP looks. Considering my hate of Mercedes hands and the cyclopes, I feel like the OP is the only model I could get from rolex but to me they ruined the design. They made is very blah...
How much is an oyster link? 😄
I’m not a fan of the watch but that watch looks great on ur wrist man
Haha, I happily returned it after a week 😉
Nice video man (all of them)
I really love watchcrunch, are you working on an app? If yes, when it will be released?
Yes yes, an app is being worked on as we speak, no ETA yet but soon!
Thanks man, I will wait for it, it is a very nice platform /social
I love the simplicity of the op. It's clean. It's perfect. I'd love one in 36, not that ugly "tiffany" though. Not for me.
I'm totally with you on the 39 rhodium 👌
If people are willing to pay it, I mean eh
The one question I've always had about that specific 39mm OP was legibility...
I'm with you, the 39 was great 👍
In my opinion this watch will be a classic in years to come I think it's rrp is about right I am on the wait list for the milgauss this will also become one to have in a collection
I believe that a watch without a date function at least isn't worth considering, that's me for sure.
It's not the dumbest watch that Rolex makes, it just lured the DUMBEST people out there to try and flip the $5k watch for $100k. Now that's real dumb.
Haha, yep 😂
Not sure about turquoise, at least on me.
This is the reason I won’t purchase a Rolex….plus I don’t have enough celiberity to purchase a Rolex or get a free Rolex. The bottom line: There are a hell of a lot of great watches that will go head to head with with a Rolex at a reasonable price.
One silver lining is that this price phenomenon has made people look harder at other brands 👍
the crazy rolex market really muffles my interest in the brand.. and i thought the prices 2 years back were wacky
Yeah, I'm patiently waiting the hype to die down so we can just enjoy the watches again
Isn't it still available in 36mm?
Absolutely it's still on their website ..but not for us mortals ... preferred customers and AD's pals probably. Who can blame them? Buy for 5k and sell for 25k the next day? I think it must be difficult to know how to behave around such items.. and I really don't think I'll get that call for the green OP... ever
@@Valera_Scotland They are listed for $25K but selling for more like $15K. Still high, but you know...Rolex. I think you will get the call, just have to be patient. I'm on a list for an Explorer I, purchased 1 Rolex from the dealer in the past. Told my wait time is 18-24 mths. It is what it is I guess
@@m.e.p.r thank you. I hope you're right! I was super keen on the green first, and nearly considered paying £9800 for one... but I've decided to calm down. If the only one I manage to get is black or the sunburst blue , well they are still the same quality watch, just a more common dial.. I think they are both good options.... I bought a Speedy from my AD a few years ago (now sold...too big)... so hopefully that will help. Same as you
Good luck with the Explorer...I tried on a two tone.
@@m.e.p.r oh really? Is this really possible? That's really interesting
OP36 is more proportional and more attractive watch
It's a good fit 👍
I absolutely love the blue and the pink, they're a great $5k watch. The insane secondary market is not worth it and I think in time it will go back down when it stops being the it thing on social media
This move will make people crave even more new launches, it is a similar strategy as Patek did when discontinuing the Nautilus, it elevates the model to the icon status, also elevating the status of the company for the future (and maybe prices accordingly).
Definitely, it's like doing limited editions without doing it 😉
I love the bracelet, crown and the dials on those OP's...nothing else!
I really like it, but doesn’t have to be one of those super special colours, that are unattainable anyway. I want the design and movement.
Yes, I also prefer the "boring" colors 😁
I can’t help but view it as a woman’s watch, and also wonder if Tiffany didn’t feel a little ruffled over it, all the more after they subsequently participated in the Patek release. If it weren’t for the boost the Nautilus gave the “Tiffany” OP, it would be profoundly karmic considering the legal action taken by Rolex against the California couple. As ever, Rolex remains highly polarizing.
Agreed Jon, I still find these colors quite feminine. Maybe I'm old fashioned
Yep. It's a woman's watch for sure. Not sure how any self-respecting man would be seen wearing one.
Prices have not really come down
The 41mm hasn't x6. Not even close. Don't look at the list price, look at the selling price. £15k-£17k.
I'm wearing that watch,
Except it says Casio and tells the time better.
I also saved myself $4,960.
"O"ver "P"aying "Pun intended" redefining Rolex!
Haha, yep 😂
Suits you Max, Jonas should gift it over…🤔😂
Now people can get this watch with balls on it. I love balls.
You could n theory wear it 100% of the time, 24/7/365………other then maybe your bedding! routine. But is the AT and many others not fit the bill, of course they do. Got this little sweet Le Petit Prince IWC blue IWC, just friggin great. My Omega AT, my even Eterna 3 hander fills the need.
The pictures I've seen of Dornbluth are very impressive!
I love the color.
The indices are too long and those doubled just make the face look busy.
Tiffany does not own that Blue...Cuba does.
Do not compare the iconic date just to a damn entry level watch how dare you the only reason that Daytona is famous is Paul Newman it is a bulky ugly ass watch til Paul wore it
what a beautiful watch.
Most overhyped watch in history. Should not cost more than 2k (euros).
So dumb I almost didn’t click on the video. But it was a good one, nice!😂
For 3500 this is the perfect watch. For 35000 this is a joke.
Just wondering, are you Korean? 😮
Why click bait the title
did you see how they fucked up the new air king?
"I don't care what you think" - the perfect Elon Musk watch.
Not attainable. Sighs
Time my friend, let's hope 😅
Hey man, would it be too much of an ask to refrain from having that one bit of reminder to "hit the like and subscribe button" I think your content is good enough to not require such a trivial request. IMO I find it distracting and quite annoying as most YT content creators are doing the same thing and it's starting to be ubiquitous enough for people to not care. Other than that--great content as always.
Nobody likes doing it, but it clearly has an effect so that's the game we have to play on UA-cam 😞
Please these Rolexes are a joke....its like buying a Chevrolet at Ferrari prices. AS THE QUALITY MAYBE OKAY BUT NOTHING SPECIAL....I would never buy one even though I can easily afford one. PT BARNUM said there is SUCKER BORN EVERY MINUTE and Rolex is laughing all the way to the bank. 5,000 to 15,000 dollars🤣
Forget Rolex... Go for San Martin much better value... IF you are too rich... Also Forget Rolex... Get Patek... At least they are better designed and decorated inside out.
It’s discontinued because it’s dumb 😂😂😂
It’s back with some balls now. 🤷🏼♂️
So based on the title.. the Calatrava is the dumbest Patek Philippe watch? Are you really into watches Max?
Yup
It is light blue , not turquoise! Why do you colorgrade the video to change its color so it fits your narrative? Everybody just feeding the hype train is so annoying!
I hope your life gets better dude... seriously 🤦♂️
"It's just case, dial, movement and bracelet."
What about hands? I'm pretty sure I see some hands.
😂😂😂😂that intro
😁👍
Beautiful looking mom and pop.
OP design is cheap asf. When people talk about great things about Rolex they are not talking about baby entry level stuff like OP, Explorer or Air King. Get a proper Rolex or forget Rolex
