I watched every step of this build and the race day. Watching this back on this video reminded me how much work went into the mongoose and what an awesome job you guys did. This is my biggest problem with this channel. whenever the build is over they never really go out and test it
I think Tim Kuniskis’s reaction said it all. You also may have gotten some engineers at Dodge fired for not getting this done themselves. Awesome car guys.
Seeing Ricky blast past the haters was so satisfying
Great build. This is the version where everything pulls together without issue or debugging. Still it is a pretty cool car. Lot's of reliable HP. New clutch, brakes and suspension means with some tuning it could be dialed in pretty well. Love to know how it is to drive on the road without the MT tires.

Love the viper even though it's a death trap! It would be the only car I'd buy just to look at. Maybe drive around the block every once and a while. Other then that id be terrified to get in one.

My favourite moment of this build was when the CEO of dodge was speechless to how you installed the hellcat motor into this car.
Which is surprising considering the viper engine is much bigger
@@arcticwolf8150 it's because of the supercharger, so fitting the hellcrate in a not so vertically spacious enginebay was tight
@@slapdasharbitrary I’m curious which has more power,acceleration and top speed the v10 or the v8 ?
@@grimreapergaming3061 I'm not too sure but I think it's the V8 because it's newer, makes more power in stock form and probably still has more power when both are maxed, might be lighter and stronger too, don't quote me though.
@@slapdasharbitrary considering vipers from calvo are making anywhere from 1-3k horsepower and he's still shooting for more and I've personally seen stock hellcats throw a rod racing its definitely not stronger or higher horsepower producing when modded. I will concede on the weight though

sorry if this is a dumb question but im pretty new in the car community and have been watching throtl and all their sick builds but im wondering, are they a performance shop that people can take their car to and theyll work on it? because it seems to me that they are mostly just a online store for parts and they do the performance work on the side. i guess what im asking is are they a shop i can just take my car to?

Would have much preferred to see a Gen 5 Viper V10 swapped in but this is cool too as an exercise. Could have just turned the stock v10 and made 1k hp if that was the goal but it wasn’t. Great skills gents.

@@jimmyqballs also have a 2000 GTS. Getting scarce for parts for sure. Makes me contemplate ownership, but it was my dream car growing up. Took me months a 2k to find a windshield last summer.

I would have kept that V10 for this event and just built onto that the Viper engine would have made twice the power then those Hellcat Redeye engines the Viper Engine is still the most powerful N/A engine Mopar has, I'm against swaps cuz I love when people take the engine that's already in their car and build onto that instead otherwise just buy the car that has that motor u like already in it but this car was awesome at Roadkill nights it took second against Winston's 1500 Challenger but it gave it a serious run for it's money only having like 850 hp very impressive
My first favorite car . I would draw it everyday till the point my classmates would line up for me to draw them that blue Dodge Viper with white stripes … I definitely want this car. I’m still a fan of dodge till this day. Thought about buying one and swapping it with a red eye .

If I wanted to do this build on a 2003 SRT10 Viper, what would it cost me for this total build?
Couldn’t imagine under $40k unless you get used engine and parts and do work with you and buddies or know a guy who will swap for a good deal.
My limited knowledge I’d assume nearly 10-20k for the motor several grand for labor and whatever extra for fitment/custom parts

I’m confused. Did you have a custom harness made to go to the ecu? Or is it hellcat harness and viper body harness?
Hellcat crate ecu and Viper chassis harness.
@@mickeyandrade3435 it’s that simple? No splicing, no need to use a hellcat cluster
@@drkangel1134 - I wouldn’t say it’s simple by any means but, you use what’s supplied with the kit. No additional cluster is required. Now that we have the car back we will be buttoning it up (I.e. making the OEM gauges work).

We almost did that. Sadly, the rear ends in those cars are like glass. Once we came to that realization we changed our focus to viper.
