Al Oliver finished with a league best BA, RBI, Hits, Total Bases and 2Bs. Over his career, he was a 7x All-Star, second in ROY voting, 3x Silver Slugger, 2743 Hits, .303 Career BA, 1326 RBIs, 80+ RBIs 10x (including 100+ RBIs 2x), 150+ Hits 10x (including 200+ Hits 2x), 30+ 2Bs 9x (including 40+ 2x), only 756 Ks in 9778 PAs and a member of 6 division pennant winning teams, an NL Champion and a World Champion. Al Oliver enjoyed a fantastic career which has been largely overshadowed for unknown reasons.
For the second time in three seasons, LA came up 1 game short of a division championship. The Dodgers could have won 6 NL West Championships in the 1980s with just a few more wins. Regardless, the Dodgers were the team of the 1980s with 4 division titles, 5 playoff series wins including 21 playoff game victories, 2 NL pennants and 2 World Series trophies. Only the Cardinals won more league pennants (3) but just 1 World Series trophy in comparison.
Can't deny he was a heck of player, that cardinal infield could hit and field the ball as any in baseball those yrs...it's a different game now but, top ten all time imo.
Best show on TV when I was a kid. This show can never get old.

It's a mystery to me too....one of best hitters especially with men on base

He should be in the HOF.
7:10 if you were a kid in the 80s once you heard that music you knew you were about to see some awesome sports highlights 🤣
Arguably the best show about baseball then and now....with mel allen no less.
