    Clean and easy hinge install, love it. From someone who has shoveled a lot of snow, I recommend an aluminum grain shovel. A bit less snow each time, but sturdier and way more control. Lasts forever, and good to spread/shovel mulch in the spring as well.

    Yow, those are nice. Look pretty simple to install, too, for what they are. That jig is DEFINITELY worth it, I'll say that much.

    Very impressed with that hing and associated mortising jig. That cabinet is going to look and function great with those hinges. Thanks Jon.

    Really cool hinge. I live in Canton, OH and we are more than 2 feet below average in snow fall for the year. I have had my snow blower out once this year and even that wasn't really needed. We are just waiting for our turn !

    2:46 mark. great jig Mr. Peters. Great hinged too. The barrel hinge also is a hidden hinge but I sure like this one better. It's much stronger. Each have their respective uses of course.

    I used those hinges on a job about 15 years ago. I liked them but they were kinda pricey and there was no jig available then so they were tedious to install. But with that jig they may well be worth a second look. Thanks, Jon.

    I have an RV dinette with a leaf that needs to fold up out of the way to make room for getting in and out. I didn't want to lose the ~ 16" of tabletop I'd have to lop off if it were just fixed. The tabletop is 1.5" maple butcher block and the leaf that will be hinged weighs a whopping 25 - 30lbs.
    These hinges are perfect since they're meant for doors, which weigh a lot more than what they'll support in my application. Other options aren't ideal;
    a piano hinge, for example, wouldn't be flush. Who wants that on their dinner table? There are mortised top mount hinges that are used for similar applications, but the mortise needs to be done perfectly since it's immediately visible. These are concealed in a way that would make a slip of the router less disastrous (not to mention these have jigs available). With deadlines approaching rapidly I just can't risk an accident with pricey (and obnoxiously long lead time) butcher block.

      You probably already know by now, the Soss Jig for the Soss 204 Hinges require a 21/32" ID and 3/4" OD bushing that needs to be 9/16" long. I made the mistake and ordered the Powertec Bushing set which was 15/64" long. Now off to Menards to buy the Milescraft set.

    They should have made the jig with without those screws, maybe an insert. I can see those screw holes eventually stripping out with a ton of use. Maybe I'm wrong though.

    Hi Jon. Was wondering if you knew which Soss hinge number you used for this 3/4 stock, and which accompanying jig. I see on amazon there is some confusion/complaint over the jig not matching the hinge style/number so I wanted to try to avoid this issue as I order some Soss for an upcoming built-in. Thanks again! Eric
