Ok, that lady behind you before you blurred the background- when you were showing the cats? I was cracking up! That was some next level disdain right there, hahahahaa! I hope she ordered a strong drink so she could relax a little. Great first day! And those tacos!!!! YUM! Looks like a very lively resort! Oh, and it was a no brainer that Kev would have Chicken Parm!
Seriously! She needed to chill a bit 😅
@@MemoriesandMojitosTravel I appreciate the good laugh she gave me, though! 🤣
Haha. I noticed her immediately too.
@@kimberlylinham🐔🍝
I saw that too 😂
Hey Brittany! Just wanted to say your hair & makeup look beautiful!
Thank you for all you videos and info you put of there!
Awww. Thank you so much 🤍
I was in Playa Del Carmen yesterday. What a beautiful place. Cozumel is stunning in the east coast. Thanks for you two sharing your experiences with us
You can find nice pharmacies with cheaper items if you get off 5th. Sounds like you had a great time! Will be back in Playa in November / December for 11 days.
Since you brought it up, an “opposite” day where Kevin reads at the pool and Brittany does all the pool games would be so fun 😆 Great video
Fun for whom??
@@MemoriesandMojitosTravel 😂😂
Love your hair length!!!
So....watching you guys unpack has inspired me to try carry on again! My husband thinks I'm crazy but....I said "Brittany and Kevin had lots of stuff in THEIR carry on". Lol. Let the packing begin!
You’d be surprised all that I bring! It’s heavy as can be, but I have all that I need and much more 😬
@MemoriesandMojitosTravel I'll let you know how it goes! I paid more for nicer seats with priority access to overhead bins so I feel like I HAVE to use that perk now.
I always mention “Brittney and Kevin do this” to my husband as well 😂😂
@araceli1461 somethings are a “do as I say, not as I do” thing though 😂
I did it! Just got back from a week at Planet Hollywood Cancun with my husband....carry on only!! My husband said we're carry on people now....lol
Yikes that lady behind you at 2:40she must not have liked being recorded I guess. She didn’t look very pleased 😅
I did notice the stink eye.
important to upgrade liquor for us Nice video guys
looks really nice there interesting concept you have by leaving your dress there for someone . like the back ground music also :)
I’ve been leaving clothes behind for many years now, it’s very well received!
Hi Brittney - nice first day!. Have you thought of visiting Paradisus PDC or Cancun ?
Hi! No 😊
I found the dress lol! Secrets Cabo, August 2020🤣
🥳
It's gotta be chicken parm for Kev!
Gotta be 🤣🤍
@lindsay2642 I guess I'm predictable.
Agree! definitely chicken parm!
Holy cow are you guys moving in?
We only take carry ons…. So not likely!
We only take carry ons…. So not likely!
Taco bar looks delicious
Kev is DEFINITELY going to get spaghetti and meatballs. That's my guess 😀
Or maybe chicken parm! lol!
How was playa del Carmen at night? I’ve Only been during the day. Also we just got back from impression isla Mujeres secrets and it was amazing! You guys should def go
It’s energetic!
Your dress does look familiar, but I'm not sure on where you wore it. I do know that Kev would prob order chx parm!
He’s so predictable!
Hey guys I just found your channel and I love your videos! So my family and I are going to Mexico for the first time at the same resort as you guys and we don’t know if we bring pesos, USD, or just use our cards. How did you guys to do it? If you guys could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated!
Hi! All options will work. It really depends on what you plan to do. Peso is the countries currency, so you’ll get the best pricing using that. If you plan to use credit cards make sure that you use a card that doesn’t foreign transaction fees. Small businesses may not accept credit cards, so again, depends on what you’re paying for. USD is widely accepted but you will overpay since you’re subject to whatever the business sets the exchange rate at. Hope that helps
@@MemoriesandMojitosTravel Thank you so much!!
thanks for taking me to places i have always want to go. do you think i would feel safe as a single there?
Absolutely
I don't recall seeing you in that dress on you and I have watched all of your vlogs. Did you wear it before you started documenting?
Nope! It’s definitely in a vlog! 🙃
Where did you get that cute waterproof bag you have at the swim up bar?
Walmart, about a decade ago!
Is there any big stores like Walmart around? (Planning my first trip with a one year old in the fall, concerned about bottle water for formula)
Yes
👍
Is that upcharge for Don Julio or Patreon all over the resort?? They didn't do that in 2018 when it wS still the Royal.
Yes.
@@MemoriesandMojitosTravel How much was the upcharge?
@kristischoff188 $8-10 per shot.
This resort used to be awesome when it was The Royal Playa Del Carmen, we went in 2012! It was the best. Went after it changed to Hilton in 2017 and it was not so great! We now only go to Excellence Playa Mujeres.
Review of the Resort: A "Memorable" Disappointment
Well, well, where do I begin with my stay at this resort? Let's call it an "experience" - one I'm eager to forget. From the moment you step foot into what claims to be a luxurious haven, you're swiftly transported to what feels more like a cattle farm. Ah yes, the ever-charming wristband - your badge of dishonor. So, if you fancy being an easily identifiable mark for every vendor, potential miscreant, and overly enthusiastic local in Playa del Carmen, this place has you covered!
Inside the resort? No escape. It's like being in a relentless sales pitch, but here, the ever-enthusiastic resort staff are the hawkers. Want to relax? Think again. They're always on standby to try and upsell you something. Upgrades, excursions, spa treatments, premium dinners - they're always on the hunt, and you're the prey. Ah, the serenity!
But where things truly take a dangerous turn? The so-called "security". For an establishment boasting its exclusivity, the behavior of some guests seemed more fitting for a backstreet bar brawl than a high-end retreat. The open bar? It's more like a ticking time bomb, drawing in unruly twenty and thirty-somethings. With their increasingly aggressive antics and sheer disregard for others' safety, you'd think the resort was auditioning for a reality show on brawls. The "security" team? Oh, they were there, but their indifference and inaction were alarmingly evident. It felt less like a retreat and more like a hazardous obstacle course, where every day brought a new set of challenges to one's personal safety.
"Smoke-free", they claimed. Yet the reality was an all-pervasive haze of secondhand smoke, and despite countless complaints, the smoky saga continued unhindered.
And don't get me started on the so-called all-inclusive deal. Overpriced restaurants and room service that felt more like a drag than a luxury. At 700-800 euros per night, the returns were pitifully inadequate. Mediocre drinks, a "piña colada" more reminiscent of murky puddle water, and dated rooms that screamed of neglect. My first night? A cacophonous symphony thanks to the ancient air conditioner, forcing an urgent room switch.
For a resort that parades itself as 5-star, a hesitant three would be a stretch. The raving reviews and promotional videos? One can't help but question their authenticity and how many palms were greased for those glowing endorsements.
In short, if you're seeking luxury and relaxation, this resort is a masterclass in how not to deliver either. Steer clear.
Chicken parm!
Obviously 😬
"Karen" at lunch...so hilarious! Mind your business lady.
