It's because so many of them trade in their fantasy leagues and can only operate from a standpoint of winning the deal instead of forming a cooperative relationship.

So what is the consequence of telling Jax who ur gonna draft? I mean I guess they could share that info but that kind of falls along the lines of “unwritten rules” I feel like

You could also bluff hard to get additional draft capital. Like in the case of the eagles bears trade where they moved up one slot to draft jalen carter. On one hand why would you trade away your pick if the team you trade to is gonna take the guy you want, makes no sense. Might as well just stay put and not move up bc no GM in their right mind would do that unless they were heavily compensated. That being said, on the other hand they act like they’re gonna lose the guy they want and ask for a crazy amount of capital.

Also, I think there might might be some conflict of interest issues. I'm divorced. My divorce was relatively amicable. At the beginning of the process, we met with a lawyer together, and told the lawyer that we had agreed on all of the terms of our divorce, and just needed a lawyer to do whatever needed to be done to make it all binding. The lawyer told us she couldn't technically work for both of us. One of us had to be the client, and the lawyer had to operate in the best interests of that person.

I’m a bills fan and personally wanted to go IDL(mazi or Benton) or OL(Avila or Harrison) but we end up landing torrence in the 2nd and signing Poona ford who I think will be solid as a rotational IDL. Getting more weapons was the goal and the WR’s available weren’t worth it at that point imo. Dawson Knox is probably gone in a few seasons and kincaid, if he can stay healthy, could be a star TE. At the time I was on the fence with it but after seeing how the teams shaped up now it was a pick with a lot of upside. I’m not really sure what other “lot of holes” you mean, they have one of the most complete rosters in football
You have to remember these guys have been in the league possibly for years so their reputations are on the line when dealing. They know each other and have met each other before some are good friends, maybe you do this for the next tom brady but you dont do this for a tight end.

I'm just saying watching Mahomes cut your team to pieces with very short passes and still never adjusting to pressing those very mediocre recievers at the line was beyond bad coaching it was a lack of basic common sense. Staying in that very soft zone and never bringing anykind of pressure was ridiculous. Not 1 stop in the 2nd half of that game was just complete incompetence from Gannon, Siriani, and some of the veterans on that team. That ridiculously soft almost prevent like style defense only worked in the regular season because of a weak schedule and a great offense. You don't give the best qb in the league that kind of time and play off the recievers so much. That entire game plan was the exact opposite of how you need to play that team. I don't think Gannon even considered what he would do if he couldn't get pressure with his front 4. How he's gotten this far coaching in the NFL is ridiculous and Arizona's gonna find out pretty fast how much of a mistake they made giving him that job and Siriani proved he's not a big time coach.

That is where connections & reputations come into play. Information could be used as leverage to get better trade compensation

This is also why you rarely see trades within a division. Those teams are the most likely to actually spite draft your guy.
