Hey Shawn , I am no military affiliated in any way but I love my country and envy the fact that you get to meet some of these people , it’s amazing how these individuals don’t realize how much they have done for the lives of every person that has heard of what they have done or had to be saved by them . This is what AMERICAN looks like , this is the unshakeable protector mentality that one could only hope to come close to . This guy is a fucking dog , bites down and don’t let go until the job is done ! Makes me proud to know they have the civilians 6

I know guys like Kyle are mythic heroes. But he hardly mentions the 2 DSS Special Agents that were in the stack with him and helped coordinate the op. He only mentioned them at the 12:20 mark (“RSO”) but only as if all they did was coordinate shuttle rides. Was that intentional to respect the anonymity of DSS?

Shawn, the greatest feature of men like you and in this case particularly your guest Kyle is that you don't NEED to tell your stories except to one another. The fact that you come here and share it is in obvious relation to your sense of duty - that sense of duty and true mastery of your environment is what is missing from a vast portion of society here in America at this point. Please, at all cost, keep these dialogues going - it is one of the only places that people like my son can see what it means to serve a greater purpose and learn to understand that there is a cost VERY worth paying for the protection of our way of life. God bless you and all who have served with such distinction. A Marine, a retired swat officer and counter-sniper, I feel small in this world watching you both speak and I'm grateful for that.

"I didn't have a pen and paper on me - like a good soldier". That's really funny actually, it's the ONE thing that's really stuck with me from my days in the FDF. Every workplace I've been at since, pencils keep appearing in my pocket because I remember being yelled at when I couldn't take notes. Seems to be a universal idea that soldiers are taught. And remember guys - regular pencil, not ink or ballpoint. If it rains, those will run.
Jokes aside, this is a really fascinating clip. You can really see it in his entire body when he explains the heavier stuff... he's back there in the moment. He's clearly still processing a lot of that stuff, but it's absolutely terrific that he's sharing and getting it out there. Been watching the show for a few weeks on here and Apple podcast. This one really effected me, these guys from delta and devgru and other SF teams have taken lifetimes of physically and mental trauma and ask for nothing in return for the selflessness and sacrifice. Having blood on their hands to keep us and other safe has to be an incredible burden to bear. They deserve more from us and our country and communities. We should all hang our heads for the violations against our beloved constitution we have allowed our government to perpetuate as we have stood by complicit and without courage to act on our own soil, while these warriors have gave everything they have in defense of our republic and our way of life. It’s time we all take a cue and grow a spine. Their efforts should never go in vain or be forgotten. Shawn, your show is excellent and your doing important work. I hope you get as much support as possible to share these stories and remind us all what you and others have done in the name of freedom and the defense of America and he alliances. Great advice. As a veteran it's good to take advice. I used to think to I could do things all on my own but I realized actually taking time to listen helps so much. I love learning and gaining knowledge. I'm so glad for the pain because if I didn't go through the things I did I wouldn't have learned. I'm so glad I got help after I got out the military cause all the stress I went through as a child made me always on edge and I worried about what people thought of me but after getting help and being around other vets have helped me so much and I realize how important it is to not to isolate myself during all of my free time but take time even if it's one day out the week just taking time to be around vets and listen to others knowledge.

Unfortunately they lost their life that day however it could have been much much worse for so many more. These people are the great ones... The one's that don't hesitate when told people's life's are on the line... To go in alone and knowing that he's alone takes a special kind of person. Thank God we have a few handfuls of those kind of people. And we need them. We have many people(all of the military) who are brave and willing to fight and die for our countries people and others... And they should not be looked past by any means.... Thank you! I pray that you find healing and are healthy and find happiness in all the things moving forward.
