Some of us old timers got to experience this masterpiece when it originally came out almost 40 years ago. The mid 80s thrash era was an incredible time to be alive.
yes it was brother \m/
Slayer is what every metal band wants to be when they grow up.
I sure did
First time whaaaaaat?!
Fokin' Slayeeeeer!!!
How.....wha......huh.......
Whaddaya expect. He's an Ohio State fan 😅
Angel of death
One of the best guitar solos! My go to jam for getting work done lol!
Angel of Death
Postmortem
Disciple
War Ensemble
World Painted Blood
South of Heaven
All must!
Pretty much what I was going to recommend lol!!!!🤘🤘
"Chasing Death" & "Repentless" are a must too.
DEAD SKIN MASKKKKKKKK
Seasons in the Abyss
Bloodline
Welcome to Slayer....if you go down the rabbit hole, you're in for a treat.
South of Heaven / Silent Scream - first two tracks off of the album South of Heaven should be reacted to as a pair
🤘 SLAYER! 🤘
ANGEL OF DEATH......🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You'll never hear Slayer using another bands riff! Other bands use theirs plenty! Fucking Slayer!
Dave Lombardo( in an interview with Fantomas) claimed that their early stuff( "Aggressive Perfector was a Hit the Lights rip-off") derivative of Metallica.
Bro how have you never heard this? We like the same stuff and slayer will melt your face. Get ready for double bass madness.
Dude! You have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to Slayer!!!👹
I could be here for a very long time trying to suggest great Slayer songs to recommend to you but I have work in the morning !🤣
Explore at your own time, you won’t be disappointed!😉
Tbh I don't listen to Slayer either, but the fact that you, having done all these reactions, haven't heard them, made me click! LEGENDARY REACTOR
How is this the first time you've heard Slayer???? Someone's losing their job over this.
Also, their most popular song, by far, is Seasons in the Abyss.
But that whole album is banger after banger.
Are you having a laugh??? The most popular Slayer track is Angel of Death
Dude you always have the best reactions!!!!!!
yeah. Next up Seasons in the Abyss
Also, whenever you hear someone refer to "The Big Four" of thrash metal- they mean Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica, and Slayer. Pretty much the top 4 in quality (and possibly popularity) of that genre of that era.
@@locustkllr BITD, it was 90% Slayer, 5% Metallica, ~5% Anthrax, Megadeth, etc. But commercially, it was probably 90% Metallica, etc..
Nooo!
Yeah right you been livin under a rock 😂😂😂
Oh heck yes. 🤘🤘 this makes me feel like a teenager again. You definitely should check out Angel of Death by this band next.
I've seen several reaction vids for this song.
Yours may well be my favourite 😊
Thanks!
Try out
Meshuggah
Album: Chaosphere
Song: New Millennium Cyanide Christ
Year: 1995
See if you like it
Chaosphere was released in 98. Destroy Erase Improve was 95 🤘
I remember listening to this song in middle school band class in the 80s for the first time.
Dan..."Here Comes The Pain" & "Disciple" are a MUST. LFG!
Yes Slayer was the first Thrash-Metal Band and the Drummer Dave Lombardo is Mister Thrashmetal.
This comes as a genuine surprise to me.
I missed Deftones for a long time too, instantly loved them when I heard them! I saw them with Korn a long time ago, would love to see them again. I'm pretty sure I saw slayer at a festival too. 😂
first time? i doubt that..jeeez man u been livin under a rock.
0:42
one of the best to start with. cheers.
This album came out in 1986 when I was in high school. Best album ever made still listen to it
They're badass. To see them live is the most intense crowd. I thought someone was going to die. Saw them in 1988.
Head moving as fast as drum beat = he likes it
Here comes the pain was my first Slayer song.. it was on this WCW album that came out.
Me too! Glad I'm not the only one.
Slayer on a WCW cd?!
@@lamontcranstoniv3680 Yeaa they were trying to compete with WWE at the time I guess
@@Djcimofficial oh, I remember. I just wouldn’t have imagined WCW using Slayer. Seems outta left field. Although, they did have ICP and the Misfits at one point, so it’s not too crazy.
@@lamontcranstoniv3680 haha nice! Yea I even think bizkit was on there too. I have to go back and google the track list. But I do remember slayer the most.
You capping bro lol. There is no way a metalhead have not heard of that song before at this point. :DDD
Dan...I dare you to do "PAYBACK" By Slayer. You're not ready...
I recommend Skeletons of Society. Banger! The big 4: Metallica (most charismatic), Megadeth (most technical), Slayer (heaviest), Anthrax (they also exist).
That one! 🤘
SLAAAAAAAAAAYEEEEEEEEER. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Slayer had exactly 0 commercial songs. I don't even think they had a video (that was routinely played, at least). If you like this song, like I do, I highly recommend you listen to their early, complete albums..
This is probably their biggest song, was on Guitar hero 3, their next biggest is probably Angel of Death, kick ass song
Dead Skin Mask and Seasons in the Abyss are good songs too
I am 50 years old, and Slayer was one of my first heavy metal bands I listened to in the late 80's. Angel of Death is one of their really known songs. I love every album of theirs, you need to check out "Seasons in the Abyss", South of Heaven", "Show No Mercy", and "Hell Awaits". Those albums will NEVER disappoint😂 Plus those are their older albums, just an FYI.
213, undisputed attitude is always great…I love the punk covers
3:55 Slayer and Metallica, alongside Megadeth and Anthrax are some of the first band on the Thrash Metal scene.
Beer, Slayer, Bed. That’s my daily
How is this even possible?!?!?!
Raining Blood is their biggest song
Seasons in the Abyss
South of Heaven is my favorite
Long time subscriber, first time commenting. Noticed you asked for requests and I would love to see you react to 'Bland street bloom' by 'Sikth'. One of those bands that's highly influential (essentially created Djent and Math metal) but never got the live they deserved (despite sounding incredibly distinct)
Ya misspelled Meshuggah xD
@@Sandalphon777 you misspelled prog fear factory :p you're right though they were very influential on Djent. I don't know what theit 90s stuff sounds like though. Earliest I've heard is the rational gaze era which was after Sikths first album
@@LordWargasm yeah I think if you go all of the way back to their beginning it's like they're trying to find their own sound and methods...once you hit destroy, erase, improve it's almost right but I believe Chaosphere is where they really finally nailed it. I mean if we wanna go early rough rendition we could even include bands like Prong, Machine Head, and a few others and progressive you could even look back to Hellhammer and Celtic Frost til Tryptikon...but there are so many variations and experimental methods attempted all over the place between the 80s to 2K or a little after...it was like an ebb and flow situation...I mean we damned sure can't leabe out Death or Disincarnate especially Death for setting a sort of "standard" that almost everyone else would listen to and take notes from off and on...but a way of looking at it would be like a Dam...there was a controlled current flowing then several bands became well known in the metal scene and suddenly the flood gates of the Dam were thrown wide open and kept building til the creativity levels plateaued and then the pressure dropped and its left with a steadily flowing stream of possibilities but the Dam itself has been bringing those flows down quite a bit by closing off the creativity flood to build back up while other "new" bands tend to play it safe and try to emulate rather than really innovate. Eventually the right people will culminate into new bands tired of the "cookie cutter" metal band offerings and get back to the authenticity and desire to stand out, be different yet still bash your head in with sonic assaults andnthe return of "guitar gods" adding in new features which have become more comminplace innthe eras after...maybe more profound timing signatures and bass solos, drum tracks to show off their full arsenal of skills or whatever else...finding a voice to open the eyes of the blind, naive, gullible, trusting, or willfully ignorant of the world around them and who seeks to harm them through what means as well as perpetuating what circumstances to get to the point of their aims and agendas the byproducts of those that most people don't see or don't wanna know if they have the option not to but will be forced to through this medium as ot progresses and the band members begin to think as individuals observing and experiencing the world around them and assessing what it means for and to them, etc...eventually reinvigorating critical thinking to hone their craft and messages to be realized through this artistic expression tool.
My first time hearing Walk by Pantera was watching ECW while RVD was making his way to the ring.
U can't get a Master of Puppets vibe out of Raining Blood, onky the uninitiated would say that😂 and the sound of the guitars at the end is because of their Floyd Rose 🤘🏻
Hello Block O.
3:55 it was the same year as master of puppets came out
they were just as famous thrash band as metallica in the 80s
They are better than Metallica.
Angel of Deeeaaaaaaaatttthhhhhhhhh
Wtf first time!?!? Lol this album came out same year as Master of puppets
Why is it most reactors always start their Slayer reactions with Reigning Blood. Lol. Thankfully you're a metalhead. As a Slayer fan since '89, I suggest War Ensemble live from Wembley Stadium next. It's their official video. Maybe something a little slower after that, like South of Heaven. Their best stuff is their early albums. But they have some really good songs scattered amongst their newer albums, but you'll find most good songs on this album and the South of Heaven album.
The best Slayer stuff imo, is the stuff that came before this, aka The Metal Blade Years. Chemical Warfare would be a good introduction to older Slayer.
Him : I've never heard a Slayer song
Me : I hate that for you 😢
Angel of death, Alter of sacrifice and Jesus saves just saying 🤷♂️
Rip Hanneman 🙏
Ngl I was hatin till you said it was whooping ass and didn’t stop. Respect 🫡
Angel of Death
Lamb of God is basically Slayer on steroids.
Bro bro bro - If you liked Reign in Blood..check out their follow up album South of Heaven with the song South of Heaven being one of their biggest hits.
Requested by Airin aka Flip.
Also check out & do a reaction to the band Emmure - their song "Nemesis"".
Thnx bro we enjoy watching your channel!
Just gonna drop some band suggestions here, do as you wish... Melvins, CKY, Otep, Nuclear Assault, Testament, Anthrax, Paranoia, Voivod. All worth a listen.
You need to add Iced Earth to your list
Bloodline, Angel of death, Silent scream, Ghost of war, South of heaven, Expendable youth…
What's up, bro? If you have not listened to slayer songs, do these ones south of. Heaven and seasons of the abyss? React to these 2 next.
This song kicks ass awesome reaction dude think you might like Angel of Death really cool channel really like your Slipknot and Metallica reactions 🤘🤘🤘🤘
ANGEL OF DEATH NEXT PLEASEEE
This album came out in 1986... same year as Metallica's Master of Puppets.
😵
Ya really just gotta listen to this album from start to finish, the complete thing is less then 30 minutes long, all classics.
Probably Angel of Death but they have many many big hits!🤘🤘
Oh shit
it was in GTA Vice City
Angel of Death !!! Do next ..
Block Ohio!!! Yesss!!!
O-H
Like number 213! Noice!
Public Enemy used Slayer riffs as samples😉 Maybe that's the reason it sounds familiar? But wait, Public Enemy is also from the stoneage 😂 The reason why we all can't believe you never heard a Slayer song is just that we are very very old😮...... Reign in Blood, the Album that in every poll for nearly 40;years now is voted as the best Metal Album of all time! Even though it's just half an hour long.
Listen to season the abyss
They have to many albums to say what is the best slayer song. So many great songs.
Master Of Puppets and Ride The Lightning were good......,,. and then there was SLAYER!
Lars Ulrich called Dave Lombardo the best drummer on the planet.
I gotta comment on your tattoo...
GO BLUE!!!!!!
〽️〽️〽️〽️
Have you never played Guitar Hero? Lol
If you havent yet, you really need to do megadeth holy wars...the punishment due
Should always be listened to back to back with "Postmortem", which segues into "Raining Blood" to close the album.
Not satanic, but they like to use satanic imagery and themes.
Tom is Catholic... Big 4 thrash band
Is this dude related to Lars😂
SLAYER fuc...ing SLAYER !!!!!
Metallica is not in the league of Slayer
Jesus Christ? Wrong one bro 🤣
Might be the best trash metal song ever!! its short but good, Metallica could have a few contenders to like Metal melitia, or Antrax Caught in a mosh.. surely some of the iconic trash metal songs..
First time?????????
Reign in blood not raining blood.
Not first time dont lie.
Sad
Can't fuck with Slayer, even tho I fuck with them. Classic shit.
Satanic imagery...Vocalist (Tom) & Drummer (Dave) both had Catholic upbringing & are religious...tho alot of their music has an anti organized religion aspect to it...Kerry King & Jeff Hanneman (Guitarists) did the majority of songwriting thru the yrs...Raining Blood & Angel of Death off that album are their top songs in popularity...1st 5 records are classics...rest of catalog is hit and miss for casual fans
First time . ..lie
Absolutely trippin dude. This is far beyond anything Metallica ever did. No comparison.
If you like up the term Thrash Metal it says: Def. Slayer
