dear jessica, this is probably going to be a very long comment as i want to write out some words i've been meaning to tell you for months now. i started doing your pilates for beginners workouts in the beginning of the year and i remember crying on the mat at your gentle and calm way of teaching. my whole life, i have not been good at sports and i had the worst gym teachers back in school who made me think of myself as someone who's not good enough to succeed at any sports and it made me dislike myself and my own body, and every time, i wanted to get into exercising, i did it with the wrong intentions (to lose weight as fast as possible) and worked against my body instead of with it. with just one gentle pilates workout, you single-handedly healed years of my PE trauma. i love that you always point out how you want to help people with the body they have and reach their individual goals, may it be a marathon or getting out of bed without pain. you helped me change my perspective and intention to working out and i'll be eternally grateful to you for that. so naturally, the video title shocked me - as a med student who's been to the ob-gyn department and as a daughter and granddaughter to two breast cancer survivors. i was so relieved when you said it was a DCIS and i'm glad it was discovered at that early stage. that doesn't mean that it's still not a heavy diagnosis with a lot of consequences that affect your body, mental health, wellbeing and everyday life. in german there's a saying that goes being lucky within bad luck. i'll keep you in my thoughts and wish you all the best. i hope you can go on this journey with trust in your body and with great support from your family, friends and subscribers. sending you hugs and love from germany🤍
Thinking of you at this time
Hello Ms. V. I am praying for you. I know God's hand is on you. You will get through this.
I want to ask you to do something, respectfully.
As you talk about this battle, please refer to it as your battle with cancer .
When you say " my breast cancer " you're taking ownership of the very thing you don't want. I am not saying deny the diagnosis. I am saying put cancer on notice that it is on foreign territory by not taking ownership of it. Began referring to it as your battle with cancer. You were not made to be defeated. I just found you and I have no intention on letting go. God bless you and your family. You got this.❤❤
Just found you and have done 2 of your 10 min workouts, please know I’m praying for you as I’ve loved your videos and teaching. God bless you, lean on Him at this time.
Hi, I started your Pilates a few weeks ago, and I think that you are great in what you do. Sorry about your diagnosis, praying for you. I would like to tell you more but my English is not good enough to express everything in my heart. Hope that everything will be ok for you. Michelle the FrenchCanadian . Namasté
Sending you lots of love and hugs! Everything will be ok 🙏!
I discovered your channel this week and just found this video. I was diagnosed with stage 2A HER2+ breast cancer 3.5 years ago. You put into words what I haven't been able to articulate. I do not feel safe in my body. I need to feel that safety. I have trouble sticking with workouts. I've gone through 22 rounds of chemo and I've had 5 breast surgeries since diagnosis. Thank you for sharing your story. I feel like I have finally found my place.
Bless you. Were you on HRT?
God bless you! My prayers are with you. You can beat this!
What matters most to our community right now is you. We are praying for you, pulling for you and we will be here every step of the way. You have helped us all so much. ❤
Exactly this! You have been such a blessing to us in so many ways. Praying for you, your family, and your team. ❤
I am a cancer about 5 years ago buy the GRACE OF GOD MY SAVIOR I'M DOING WELL CANCER FREE I WILL PRAY FOR YOU AND YOUR RECOVERY.
What kind of cancer u had??
Praise the Lord
I am an eleven year breast cancer survivor. It is a very personal journey and everyone needs to make the best decisions for themselves. I wish you healing and peace in the process.
So sorry to hear this. From a 5-year cancer survivor, my prayers are with you.
Thank you for sharing this with us and for your courage and grace in this difficult time.
As a breast cancer survivor I have one piece of advice …stay positive. A positive frame of mind is so important to the entire experience. Thinking of you and wishing you all the best. Take time to celebrate Christmas/the holidays with family and friends.
I'm so very glad it's a stage 0. It sucks, but it sucks a little less.
I hear you about all the appointments and tests - I'm waiting to hear if I have thyroid cancer, and it feels like it's appointments stretching into eternity.
All the best with your treatment and recovery.
Hi Jessica, I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 38. My youngest was 8 months at the time. I am now 68. My Mother died at 27 from breast cancer so I was acutely aware of my genetics. I had a Mastectomy at the time followed by chemotherapy. Please know I will be praying for you but I have great faith that you will triumph and get through this. Thanks for sharing this news with us and being a great Pilates instructor. Blessings and peace be with you and your family.
Bless you so much. ❤
Oh wow Jessica! I am so sorry! My daughter and I have been doing your exercises for over 2 years and have shared your videos with my family and friends. May the Lord Jesus cover you through your medical care, rest and recovery and anyone else dealing with this disease. God bless you!
Amen ❤
Amen 🙌
A very close relative o'mine had it like twenty years ago. She is still well and alive. You will beat this illness in no time!
I just received word today after having 2 biopsies three days ago that I have DC IS. I have an appointment in just a few hours with a surgeon. I'm in complete shock and with desperation to understand what I'm in for I found this video. I have so many thoughts I can't shut off and if I'm being honest I'm scared. Thank you for publicly sharing your journey so women new to this diagnosis like myself don't feel so alone. I'll be following your journey as I begin my own. Again, a big heartfelt thank you.
Sounds like we’re in about the same timeframe. I’m praying for you. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Give your fears to God and take it one day at a time. Try to find any and every little positive thing you can.
I don’t often leave UA-cam comments but this knocked the wind out of me. You’re incredible, your videos literally changed my life when I stumbled upon them earlier this year. I don’t even know you but have grown familiar and comfortable with your deeply supportive & soothing voice. You have a palpable impact on so many people’s lives. Thank you so much. Holding you and your family in prayer. We’re all rooting for you and your full recovery. Bless you.
Our twins were 9 months old when I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. They are 14 now. I understand the unbelief in receiving that dx. I'm also a PT & I love your videos. I'm going to be praying for you & your family. Like you, I would have never chosen this path, but there is richness to be had that seems can be gained nowhere else. I give glory to God for granting peace through the journey....praying the same for you, and total healing.
.....rooting you on!
Jodi Reed
I'm terribly sorry to hear this news, but so glad that this was caught early! You are an inspiration to me - I'm 54, and love that your pilates videos are for everybody and "every body"! I've never stuck consistently with any exercise, until finding your videos over a year ago. Sending you wishes for hope and healing, as you begin your treatments.
I was recently diagnosed with stage 3 metastasized breast cancer. I pray that you have a quick and full recovery. Pray, Stay positive, It will get better! 😊🙏
🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
I pray for you. Were you on HRT ?
Hi Jessica. I was diagnosed with DCIS in early Feb 2024. Oncoplastic surgeon advised lumpectomy as the size is too small. However, the surgery was together with my hysterectomy due to prolapse. I am now recovering, still anxious and sleepless sometimes. I can't wait to start doing your exercises. Hope to hear some more about your DCIS experience. Appreciate you a lot.🙏🤗
I have survived lymphoma just over 20 years ago, now i have breast cancer and had my left breast removed 3 days ago. Even tbough i feel ok mentally but seeing these videos really gets to me at least i know there are support out there
Dear Jessica, I send you love and wish you a good and successful journey. Also want to thank you. My 2 years old grandson was diagnosed with leukemia two months ago. I can absolutly understand what you mean in the fog you are in. I learned from you that a painful part of our body is not our enemy. So when my grandson tells me his legs are in pain (from chemo), I hug him in my arms, we sit and sing songs to his legs, we tell the legs how much we love them. That is my interpertation to what I learned from you. So thank you for your wisdom and I am sure you have all you need to win this. Good luck 🙏🏻
I'm so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I'm an 18 year Ovarian Cancer Survivor myself. 2 surgeries and Chemo...but by the grace of God I'm still here to share my story. I believe in the power of prayer, so I will keep you in mine. God Bless you and keep during this difficult but amazing journey to see what God will do, and how he will use you for his glory ❤
We are all rooting for you jessica!! ❤
I’m so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I’m a stage 2B survivor and just finished all of my treatment 5.5 years later and use your videos to keep me strong.
Oh Jessica, how brave of you to share this so very personal news. You are an inspirational lady and I wish you all the good luck in the world. Thank you for your amazing videos and the very special gift you have for making people value their health. 🥰🥰🥰
Sending you a warm hug
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I had DCIS at age 37. I have a left breast mastectomy. I am now 54 years old and doing great! You also will be fine.
I was diagnosed at 41 in October of 2023. I did need chemo therapy and now I'm recovering from a diep flap. I found your videos in the middle of treatments and now I get to do your recovery videos. Thank you for sharing your journey! 💕
I had my first mammography at age 46 last year. I have dense breast, but nothing notable was found. I'm wishing you well. I'm sure everything will turn out well for you. ❤
Hello, I just wanted to say that your videos have been extremely beneficial in strengthening and relieving the pain in my body. It is such a blessing that your tumor was detected so early and that you have been surrounded by people who support you. I just wanted to remind you that as someone who has also gone through both emotional, mental, and physical pain throughout my life, when your strength runs out you can run to the open arms of your loving Heavenly Father who knew you before you were born and created you to be wonderfully complex. He will never abandon you or forsake you. Wishing you the best in your journey and thank you for sharing your story with us. May the peace that surpasses every circumstance be with you and may His strength that surpasses all creation empower you. May Jehovah, the Almighty LORD bless you and be with you. Amen.
I lost my mother to Stage 4 DCIS when I was 20. She left behind four children. She was a nurse practitioner who noticed the lump doing a self-exam. The doctor misdiagnosed her by literally breaking the biopsy needle in her breast, which wasn't discovered and properly diagnosed until 1 year after the fact. I have followed DCIS and read a spate of articles since my mother's passing. Apparently, great scientific strides have been made with this type of cancer .
Thank you for your incredible outlook and approachable pilates videos. I lost 190 poinds since last October without surgery and zero medication. Your basic 15 minute pilates was my starting point and I still do it every night. Prayers for you and your family. You are a blessing and a light to so many. I'll be signing up for your unlimited in 2024.
Sending you loads of love 💕 ❤
Very scary diagnosis when first given the news hang in there I can relate to how you are feeling
I am ten year survivor. It is a very personal journey and you are correct about a million comments about what you should do be true to yourself Jessica it will be okay.
My daughter and I have both succeeded on this journey. My diagnosis was exactly the same as yours, and I made the exact same decision you’re making. I found that physical activity helped me through the process. Wishing you well.
Hi Jessica, take good care of yourself, I believe you will go through this process in love and light surrounded by Angels with a triumphant result. Many blessings
I’m so sorry you are going through this. You are a precious light in this world. I will pray for your healing, care and all the moments with yourself over the coming months.
Jessica. Best wishes to you through your treatment and recovery. Unfortunately so many people have their stories and experience. My wife has successfully battled breast cancer twice. Being near Boston gave her access to great hospitals and Doctors, that said - being her own health care advocate and not being shy about questioning the Doctors was important. They say attitude is so important, and you've got the greatest attitude around !!! We will be praying and thinking of you.
I 🙏 for your full recovery
Hi Jessica, iv not had breast cancer but iv had cervical cancer and my daughter had refractory leukaemia. While I can’t comment on breast cancer I can say that the online community for all cancers is incredibly supportive and full of lovely humans who feel like family and we all go through the highs and lows together.
It’s amazing news that you have stage 0 but please don’t let that make you feel like you can’t cry and hate the world a little bit, it’s unfair and some days are just awful.
Sending you so much love from myself and my family to you and your family. ❤
Hi Jessica, I don't know if you will even have the time to read this but I hope you do. Thank you for your vulnerability ... I stumbled upon your Pilates videos this morning for the first time to do a stretching routine as I am a bit stiff across my chest area and shoulders. I can not say that I know how you feel, but I do understand a little bit. I was diagnosed with breast cancer stage 1 (the same type as yours at the age of 52), one year ago, and received a bilateral mastectomy on 25 November 2022 with partly reconstruction. The second reconstruction operation was in February this year. I understand about all the tests, doctors appointments and healing plans and I want to wish you well and say that you are not alone. I will be praying for you for full recovery. I am so thankful that you are so fit, and I want to encourage you to remember that your beauty will always remain inside of you, even though your 'outside' is changed. I am grateful to say that I am in full recovery now. I have subscribed and will follow your journey. Love and kindness, Liesl from South Africa ♥
This was very brave for you to share. Thank you for being an open book 😊 📖
I had the exact diagnosis and journey in 1999. It is now 24 years later and it has been all clear. It is scary going through it but there is life and happiness on the other side. Best wishes to you.
I am wishing you all the strength and light that you need to get through this. Your videos have helped me and others so much. Thank you for sharing this. Your openness and attitude are so awesome ❤
May you have a quick & easy recovery 💓
Dear Jessica, My heart sank when I saw the tagline of this video. You have been such a pillar for us through all of our physical trials and tribulations, and I am saddened beyond belief by this awful news. One thing I know is that you will come out of this better than before. Why? Because you did that for me before and after my hysterectomy and for so many of us with health issues. You and your family are in my prayers, and I wish you a speedy recovery from this. Thank God you caught it so early. Take good care, and thank you doesn't even begin to cover all that you have done for your online community. We love, appreciate, and support you! May God bless and watch over you. 🙏 ❤
Hi Jessica, Thanks for sharing. I was diagnosed with aggressive level 3 DCIS late in 2020, during the pandemic and felt isolated and alone. If you haven’t already, do contact a “patient navigator” to help organize the overwhelm and better process the symphony of medical visits. If you feel at any point that you aren’t being “heard” having a cancer social worker from the hospital accompany you to doctor visits. I had a bilateral mastectomy after all was said and done with no reconstruction to keep it simple. You may have two surgeons, your cancer surgeon and reconstructive surgeon. It feels terrifying and overwhelming and, boy, do I understand!
It’s now the end of 2023, and I’m still cancer free (I refused radiation) and I forget I ever had cancer unless something reminds me. You’re going to rock this, Jessica, because you have something I didn’t: SUPPORT! My thoughts and prayers are with you.❤
Dear Jessica, I am 66 and love your videos. I was also diagnosing with bc in 2008. Mine was also caught early. I had a lumpectomy and radiation and have been cancer free since. I’m glad you’re documenting this journey. As I went through it, I have forgotten a lot about it. I will be praying good things for you. You are loved.
Thank you for your brave sharing. My 14 yo daughter found you a few months ago. She is working on her own health journey and she has brought me and her grandparents along with her. Thank you for being a positive voice for our teen. You are so inspirational and we are sending you love and light.
I'm sorry but this is heart breaking 💔 I'm praying for you.
Hi Jessica,
Thank you for sharing your story. Early diagnosis is so important and using your platform to encourage others to regularly check is such a compassionate act. I have followed your channel for a while and really love your gentle, coaxing teaching. Please take time to look after yourself and recover
I found you a few weeks ago after recovering from a hysterectomy. Thank you for your honesty around your hysterectomy and current medical issues. Prayers for a quick recovery and strength to get through this
You are a beam of light, Jessica. God's promises will be fulfilled in your life! Be encouraged
You're so inspirational. Thank you for sharing! I am a breast cancer survivor. I was diagnosed and received treatment 5 years ago. There are wonderful doctors and nurses in the oncology field, and I'm sure you're in good hands. Stay strong! You've got this! It's hard, but there have been many improvements in breast cancer treatment in the past 10-15 years. Sounds like it was caught early. So wonderful that you've chosen to share your journey with us!
I’m a recent visit to my cardiologist, we discussed cancer. She said that nowadays they are treating cancers like thyroid or cholesterol or diabetes. On one hand, hearing cancer as
a whole doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, I found solace that it is very treatable.
Much more information these days. Take care!
2 year survivor … do what you have to do and keep your eyes forward… lean hard on Him 🙏🏻
Dear Jessica
You have been my pilar for a long time now..
I have CRPS and you have been always on my side.
Now, please know I will be praying for your speed recovery. We will be here, waiting for you..
God bless you
My thoughts and prayers are with you. ❤
Prayers for you Jessica.
Having breast cancer twice and reconstruction following the 2nd diagnosis, I can sympathize with you. Its been 10 years since the reconstruction, and things are going fine. Good luck with your journey. May God bless you.
Thank you for sharing, I am 3 years post treatment. Your words resonate with me, thank you for your bravery and determination to help others at a time when maybe what is really tempting is to collapse (like I did). However, I’m still standing, stronger every day and looking for positive people such as yourself to incorporate into my ongoing recovery. May much positivity come back to you during your journey, best wishes for the road ahead.
Jessica, sending you strength and love, thank you for all you have done to help my life.
I’m almost 41, I’ve been thru it last year, your spirit will get you through this. You’re in my prayers Jess
You will be in my prayers
I am sending prayers, love, well wishes for a safe recovery! ♥♥♥
Prayers for you every day 💙🙏🙏🙏
Dear Jessica opening yourself up to your followers can’t have been easy. Thank you for doing so. Good luck on this journey. Sending you positive energy x
I’m sending love and hope to you, Jessica. I hope you can feel the love and care coming to you from all of us in the community ❤
10 years ago I was the same age, I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma. Then 5 years ago, I was again diagnosed with DCIS. I know how devastating the news can be. But you are right: everyone is on their own journey. I just want you to know that you have my love and support throughout your journey.
Dear Jessica. I have been (silently) following you for two years now. You helped me through an extremely bad symptomatic herniated disc. I have been so grateful for your wonderful workouts and your affirming support. I’m very sorry you are going through this, but know that you are so appreciated and cared for. Even among those of us who have never introduced ourselves to you. All best wishes as you take the next steps in your surgery and recovery.
I "found you" about 2 weeks ago. Your calm tone and uplifting comments have meant the world to me in my new fitness journey. You, your family, and your physicians are in my prayers. Please remember that your outlook and approach to your treatment journey are just as important as the procedures you will be enduring. It's ok to cry and rail against your situation; it's also ok to wallow in negative emotions. As you stated, everyone's journey is as unique as they are. Please remember that you do not journey alone.
Sending positive thoughts! I felt after I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, I remained positive but for me but for everyone around me. I didn't want to be treated differently by others. My strength and positivity kept me going. I trusted all my doctors 100%. You've got this!
You are in my prayers Jessica, as is everyone else in the comments who has battled or is currently battling this illness. Sending my love.
You are a strong person. This journey is yours and you will go on that path with grace. I am a mammographer and I thank you for coming in and taking care of yourself. Stage 0 DCIS is the result of early detection.
Dear Jessica, just as you’ve been our cheer leader, know that we are all cheering for you along this journey too. Thank you for teaching us to be gentle and thankful for what our bodies can do at any moment, and hope you’ll continue to do so for yourself. Big hugs
Hi Jessica, you are one inspiration lady! Thank you for opening your heart and telling us all the personal event, what is happening to you. My heart goes out out to you. Take care❤
Jessica, thank you for sharing your diagnosis. I wish you a successful surgery and speedy recovery. I know it’s a lot, but I am so glad it is a stage 0. Sending you and your family hugs.❤
I want you to know that you have such a positive impact on so many of us out here! Your videos mean so much to me- I do at least one almost every day. I love how warm and encouraging you are in your videos. I love how you talk through each stage of the sequence. And how you tell us to meet your body where it is. I remind myself of that a lot😊
Thank you again for putting so much light and healing out there-I hope our messages help send the love and support back to you!
13 years ago we went through this same diagnosis with my mom. The benefit of being diagnosed so early in the DCIS stage is that my mom didn't need any treatment after surgery because the tumor was in situ and not invasive. I hope you will be able to do the same since surgery is more than enough to endure. All my best in your journey and thank you for sharing.❤
Wishing you and anyone else with cancer, many blessings and a healthy recovery. I’m so grateful it was caught early at stage 0.
Dear Jessica, I haven't been following you regularly lately but this video came up in my feed because I''m subscribed. As a 3 time cancer survivor (2 x breast, 1 x ovarian), I can only say that I attribute my success to exercise, Pilates, Yoga, walking, cardio and all the other wonderful alternatives offered on UA-cam. Best wishes for your continued success as well.
Jessica, you are such a bright light and have helped thousands upon thousands of people with your videos, your work and your transparency. We are all praying for you and sending you positive, loving vibes. Let the love you have generously given over the years come back to you tenfold in this difficult time.
So sorry
I have just had a biopsy and am waiting for the results. Thank you for the information. You are so courageous . Good luck on the journey
Sending a warm hug...God bless you!
Wishing you all the best!❤
I will be thinking of you and yours, Jessica. Positive thoughts are on the the way. Thank you for being you and helping me and so many others.
I had the same diagnosis 4 years ago but only required radiation. I pray you find strength and healing throughout this process.
Jessica, I’m sorry you’re going through this unexpected valley. Thank you for your vulnerability and trust in the community you’ve built. I will be here doing my part to support you by tuning in, liking, subscribing, and commenting daily. You are loved. You are deeply appreciated. God bless.
My best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. You have been a great help to me in my efforts to remain active and healthy as a 76 year old man.Your strength and courage are an inspiration!
Sorry to hear your news, but it sounds like its been caught very early so praying for speedy recovery and healing. As a stage 4 melanoma patient, i came across your videos when i was unable to attend classes. I stopped for a while when treatment made me ill but ive started up again slowly. The anxiety, gratitude and basic videos help and i hope to rebuild my strength again. Wishing you all the best from the UK!
So sorry to hear this. I had an abnormal result, with biopsy, also. They said it was a fibroid. That was 4 years ago. I understand the fear and anxiety. Praying for a good outcome for you. Your videos are extremely helpful to me, as I battle multiple health issues.
Stay strong Jessica. Nothing can be detrimental against your super positive attitude and lots of energy that your community is sending your way.
Will keep you in my prayers. Be well🙏🤍
Dear Jessica, my heart, thoughts and prayers are with you, sending you hugs and love
Jessica - sending you so much love right now. I was diagnosed right around the same time you were with Stage 1B1 cervical cancer. I found your channel because of your hysterectomy videos and they have been so helpful. Like you right now, I'm in a fog and trying to process everything. It's not easy. Especially at this time of you year. I'm in your corner!
Prayers for you and your family. You have helped me through a very difficult time in my life. My body was shutting down from grief. I was in so much pain I was barely existing. I am better but the struggle continues. May you be blessed with total healing and continue to help many, even the silent ones.
Strength to you 🫶 Take care 🧡
Thank you for your honesty and vulnerability. You are an encouragement. Thoughts and prayers with you.
Sending you strength for you and your family as you go through this fight and lots of love and healing
Jessica I am so sorry you have to go through this journey! I am a BRCA2 carrier and had a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction two years ago. Your videos helped me regain strength and keep body positivity. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Just found this video when preparing to do my daily workout for scoliosis with you. You have been such a positive part of my life in the last month since I found your videos. I always find the time to include you in my day. Your voice alone cheers me. I have never met anyone who exudes positivity as much as you do. You have all my thoughts and prayers and support in this. You got this! Thank you for all you do.
So sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Wishing you strength to get through this challenge. Just wondering why a double mastectomy for DCIS, isn’t it a very aggressive treatment plan? All the best, we’re all praying for you.
Same question.I have DCIS but was advised lumpectomy due to size. I also have hysterectomy and that is why I follow Jessica since I felt, I can relate to her.🙏
Dear Jessica, I've been through the same journey 7 years ago. It is hard at moments. Therefore, I'm so glad that you are well surrounded by family and friends and the Jessica Valant Community. As for me, you may be sure that I'll walk beside you through this with my prayers, on my mat and any other way possible. Wishing you lots of courage, patience, a peaceful heart. A big hug from accross the ocean (Belgium)
