The sad thing from this game is that it didn't get much of attention. Imagine what this game would be if it got famous. More fandom, more lore, more continuity.
Imo, better to stay small and unique, then to get big and get swarmed by outside interests and loose it's uniqueness.
@@Beta_Mixes That's exactly what happened to Henry Stickmin series. It got too famous, and now just doesn't feel unique for me anymore.
@@PainweedingPills well yeah, i get the point.
@@PainweedingPills if Submachine gets remastered and gets released on Steam, it will not receive as much attention as its other flash brother, Henry stickmin
@@SynthanarchistThat is good. It must stay that way, because i saw how Henry Stickmin lost it's unique charm (thanks to Am*ng Us), and some other newgrounds flash games too thanks to Fr*day N*ght F*nkin (Edit from 11th April 2022: It's even worse than i thought! It literally ruins everything it touches, even small indie games!). Also, I saw that Submachine is getting remastered, and is getting released on steam, just letting anyone know if no one has heard of Submachine: Legacy.
amazing game, to think how much effort the creator put into this and how much time you have taken to film this and find the secrets, i love the lore and the complexity of it, i couldnt even get past the first puzzles but here you are
i salute you for you are truly a dedicated one
I remember playing these on some flash game websited in the mid-late 2000s. I never got through them since I barely understood english at the time and didn't have the patience to, but I do remember that those games were incredibly atmospheric, since they seriously creeped me out back then.
Clearly the music and ambiance is a masterpiece. Skutnik needs to take his storytelling to the next level:
The console
Sorry! Consoles? Next level???
@@Nate-bd8fg submachine 11
He's remastering it for Steam.
What a satisfying ending. Finally a happy ending in a sad game. Haven't seen those in.... actually never.
Undertale have a satisfying ending and it's also a sad game if you pay attention to all details. If you never played I suggest you get it when you have some time free....also don't pay attention to the "fan"dom"" or what people say about that game just try for yourself, I'm sure you will like it.
I fucking miss this game
@@MQR2003 no PC lol
@@MQR2003 saaaaame dude I remember playing these at the library after school I got stuck on 4 I think lol
@@warrenpeace8729 it will release on steam in 2022
These games were so mysterious to me as a kid. Such strange spaces and I had no clue how to solve them. Really remarkable games -- I would imagine myself in these places, exploring, but without any idea what they were actually about.
these games were my childhood bro, i've been playing them since 2011 or so. Such a shame flash player got discontinued :(
When i was a kid i use to love the unsettling mysterious tones of the games, expecting a jumpscare at any moment lol. I loved all of them but 5 was def my favorite
Don't worry, flashpoint covers you
Same man
y8 browser can play these game
To say this game is mysterious and quirky is a great understatement.
Who is the main character? How and why did he end up in this basement at the beginning of the game? What is the point of his journey from one part to another? Find Murtaugh? Find the answer to the question of how and why this adventure began? Or maybe something else?
Moreover, what is the use of Gems of Wisdom? What is their story? How does Karma work? And what exactly is the title "Submachine"?
I have the impression that all these actions with discovering new levels, new rooms and worlds, getting items, etc. are done only because it's supposed to be like that ... I mean: the goal of the player's actions is terribly unclear, as if it didn't exist.
It was quite emotional to see the story unravel itself to reveal Murtaugh and Elizabeth still alive. Even though we all thought they shared the same single unconditional timeline and were mummified in the underground temple.
Wow, what an absolute work of art. I remember playing the first 5 games a long time ago, but I never checked for further sequels. I'm glad I found this.
I like to see this video as a tribute to Mateusz and the Submachine Series as a whole. Congrats!
This game is very complicated for me :D I cant belive when somebody can invent so much different worlds. Story about that is difficult but interesting. So much idea here and so much work. Very good work.
Amazing longplay. It shows everything the games have to offer but doesnt waste the viewer's time at all. I really appreciate how you showed both endings to Sub3, i didn't expect you to do that. Definetly subbing
The moment you realize this series of flash games predicted the Escape Room concept.
not predicted, it made it
Escape room games have been around a lot longer than submachine
Crimson Room was the big room escape game from when I was a teen, Submachine came quite a bit after
@@-Cetus-
Don't say it
Oh my this is so nostalgic... To me who was a child, this was a challenging series to solve. Also I didn't learn English back then, so I didn't know the story, too. 😂
Thank you for the walkthrough!
Man I wish the sub machine series is available on the iOS and Android
I loved the music and the incidence between the game sounds and the music. It gave so much atmosphere. Strangeness and surrealism
What a satisfying ending. Seeing actual people.
2:12:28 I always wondered who that note was for.
Maybe one of people that was sent into the submachine
Didn't even read the Thoth secret scripture
_ᵃᵐᵃᵗᵉᵘʳ_
This game is a classic
There's other 2 that is also classics
Fog fall and covert front
Submachine Series Chapters 1-10
Chapter 1: The Basement Begins
Chapter 2: Clue in the Lighthouse
Chapter 3: Trapped in the Loop
Chapter 4: Journey in the Lab
Chapter 5: Ruins in the Root
Chapter 6: The Edge of Darkness
Chapter 7: The Ancient of the Core
Chapter 8: The Big Plan
Chapter 9: Mystery in the Temple
Final Chapter 10: The Final Exit
You know I've played this series a ton of times and I'm still a bit confused with the overall story no matter how much I play them
And I'm still waiting on someone to do a lore explanation on this..can't find any anywhere :(
don't worry, we all are
@@Beta_Mixesthere's a lot of established lore, but people were getting frustrated with the creator for making changes. People will probably make videos about the lore once it's finalized on steam
Submachine is like Backrooms but with -Hundreds- Thousands of Puzzle
except you can actually escape
Submachine could be used as a backrooms level, if someone ever does it
@@Synthanarchist yup, like example you are stuck in the lighthouse back again and you realized there is no item to collect or puzzles to do but instead many areas can be discovered
Isn't BTW Covert Front connected to Backrooms as well ? Since it basically is crossover with Submachine.
@@zoranzabcik4945by the looks of the 4 games, it may not be connected to the backrooms, but submachine is probably a predecessor to the backrooms
I miss flashplayer...
This is the game I had to really look on the Internet for. I randomly found it as a kid somehow and it always scared me for how empty the game was.
Submachine Universe would make it 3x longer.
I’ve been searching for games like this after playing all the cube escape, rusty lake games. It’s so cool to see how cube escape seemed to get some inspiration from this. There’s not very many story driven escape games like this anymore. Not ones that I like anyway haha
The only problem with those games is that some of them have too many locations.
The 3 game was always the one that pissed me off
This whole series has a truly "Souls-like" way of introducing the player to the plot - you have to do something, but you don't know why, something is happening, but you don't know why, you get scant bits information about the plot in fragments and put it together now
loved it, except the only problem was that FLF didn't contain Stereo '72
Not the hd version, the old version still has it
Sin duda uno de los mejores juegos del 2000' y cuantos mas faltan por contar... Extraño esa época 😢
I think the submachine series is the point and click game i played the most out of any other point and click game to the point I have almost everything memorized with the acceptation of the puzzle in submachine 2 that requires math I need a calculator for that one, where will I be able to find a place with other people Who play the game and other fans of the series
Just like the ens of sub3 says, I don't want to escape, from the submachine
dios esto me hizo muy feliz :(
I think it would be awesome if Skutnik managed to show us the first days of the AI goddess coming to fruition. S.H.I.V.A herself.
Just beautiful 🥰
2:16:14 We're free.
i would love to see this made into a full game so like submachine 1 carries to sub 2 without any menus if you know what i mean
Your dream has come true, and it's coming to steam
@@atlev I heard. Cant wait
