As a non-influencer, this is a refreshing shift. I’ve never understood the need for bigger, better, more or the need for ridiculously expensive bags or shoes. None of us is perfect, allow the changes, even if those take you back in the other direction at some point. Everything is cyclical!

She’s allowed to keep her things that bring her joy. It doesn’t matter that they are designer. She is building a better curated life suited to HER lifestyle and values.
i have been going through this recently buying and buying and realising that these things don't make me happy at all and the moment i realised this i started to appreciate other things in my life and it has helped me so much mentally and i am so much more at peace. Social media can be so toxic for people's mental health and you should protect your peace always.

So inspiring. I did a purge and downsized my home about a year ago. I have never felt more satisfied or at peace. This opened the door to further introspection and self discovery. It’s amazing that we can spend precious years of life allowing outer influences to dictate who we should be. I wish you the best on your journey, living your best life.

I think there’s a lot more of us experiencing this at this time. I have been creating fashion content online for 12 years and these days I’m not interested in shopping anymore. Instead I am reconnecting with my essence, my dreams and passions. It feels amazing!

Sooo refreshing- while I love fashion I was getting tired of being influenced into another item hauls shopping shopping shopping- I think the time for acquisition of things is coming to an end even on social media you’re one of the first movers. I’m so glad to see the new journey you’re embarking upon. I too went through something similar during the pandemic.
I sold 247 items from my closet on Posh and eBay. Made enough to purchase a brand new Chanel lambskin mini and I’ve curated a closet I love. I own about 30 tops and 2 pairs of sneakers. I only bring home things I absolutely adore. Designer is a weak spot of mine so it isn’t always easy, but it feels freeing.
Please don’t feel the need to apologize about influencing. One of the videos you posted about shoes led me to sell my Manolo Blahniks but I miss them dearly. Going to repurchase them this weekend for my birthday gift. lol

This is me to a T, only curate beautiful items you LOVE which are practical to you. I only own 3 pairs of heels, red, nude and black - the black is Manolo, they're beautiful and go with everything, I never wear heels except to weddings or events so I don't need plenty. I have 2 trainers, Veja (knock around trainers) and Jimmy Choo (more elegant trainers). then 3 flats - 1 Loro Piana mules, 1 ballerina flat, 1 massimo dutti mules. Again, few, practical and beautiful. I love all my items and get excited to wear them! but they don't take much space physically, mentally or from my bank.
I think this is what I needed to hear at this point in my life. Thanks for the inspiration Niki😊

I just did this recently, and now I have under 90 items of clothing. It helps that I am also going through some weight loss right now so it’s easier for me to get rid of more clothes. But the overconsumption in this world definitely needs to stop. Love the video

I really am proud of you and I totally understand. You are young, much younger than I am, but we go through phases in life and how you feel about things that does not make you who you are is another phase. I don’t have kids, but age gives us wisdom and I feel exactly the same. Having said that, I am glad that I did what I did in the past, because, body changes, mind changes, priorities changes. This is a really great video because we all hit these transitional times in our lives . I am now middle age, and I am realizing that what I used to like, I no longer like. My body and my lifestyle have moved me into a new phase of life. I can't wear stilettos any more, and I won't miss them. Now I choose from all the great sandals and sneakers out there. Just as you are now a new person being a mom, I am in the next phase (the one that comes after kids are grown). I am embracing it, and will be doing exactly as you are -- emptying my closet! Im over seeing this trend- where alot of UA-cam fashion influencers who made it, brought a house, brought a bunch of nice exterior item, is settled financially. Same with Josie, Anna Bey, Lillian Elise Millen, they go thru a period of being more homey and the previous items in their life don't suit their lifestyle anymore. This is a trend itself
sorry but this is not a "trend" for me. this process has been an awakening and a transformation process i have been going through for the last few years. everyone has a unique process and journey, and it is not fair to label everyone as the same. i actually had no idea that this was "trending"

It feels damaging to my soul, and our collective mindless consumption contributes to blatant human rights and environmental horrors that the fashion industry actively brushes under the rug.
