The holidays are on its way! What holiday movies are your favorite?
Watching Elf is a Christmas tradition in our family as it's my mum's favourite Christmas movie so we always gather on Christmas Day to watch it after dinner
A Christmas Story, Elf, Home Alone 1 and 2, Scrooged, The Santa Clause trilogy, Christmas with the Kranks, Gremlins, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and A Muppet Christmas Carol.
Black Panther Wakanda Forever & Avatar The Way Of The Water
A bit of a bizarre and eclectic mix: Eyes Wide Shut, Batman Returns, Home Alone, It's a Wonderful Life, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Fanny and Alexander, and Gremlins. They may not all count as "Christmas movies" per se, but they are all set during the holiday season for the most part.
Elf, Home Alone, Polar Express, Nativity, Jack Frost, the list is endless
The reason R2 never stayed put in the OG trilogy is because the first person who told him to stay never came back. Heartbreaking honestly.
omg dont even i dont wanna cry
What *ARE* you blabbering about?!?!?
That's so fucking stupid.. nice fanfic
@@JadenMoon1475 25:10 "R2, stay with the ship". Then again, I don't think he was one to follow orders even before that.
Before going back to watch the trilogy, I really think you should watch Rogue One.
Not everyone enjoyed the Solo movie, but it also should be seen at least once before the original trilogy.
And…. Of course the Obi-wan tv series, *must* watch.
The cool thing to realize after watching all 6 movies, and especially if you do a Chronological rewatch, is that you see the beginning and the end of the story really clearly. Luke isn't the Chosen One, Anakin is. Anakin destroyed Palpatine and brought balance to the Force, it just didn't happen the way the Jedi thought it would.
Exactly how I see the fulfillment of the destiny of Annakin.
So many other theories out there but I 100% agree with you on this 👍
I used to have Episodes 1 - 6 on DVD, and prior to what my "Parents" said that destroyed my love of the franchise, I used to do those Chronological Marathons. So awesome, and it makes the Return of the Jedi ending with Victory Celebration song *SO* much better!!
I always thought the "balancing of the force" was bringing it down to just two jedi and two sith. Literal balance.
@@drakonik2782 I don’t think that would make much sense seeing that there were multiple Jedi still alive. Like Ezra, Cal, and Ahsoka (I guess maybe not her) and we can throw in Luke and perhaps even Leia who we know did train with Luke eventually. Luke’s students at his temple etc
Until "SOMEHOW PALPATINE RETURNED"
Sad Fact: Following this movie, R2-D2 never listens to anyone who instructs him to "stay with the ship," but goes with them instead. The reason is because the last time he listened to that command was with Anakin...who never came back.
and in the book as anakin visits padme before leaving to mustafar, c3po asks r2 whats going on and r2 says he doesn't know bc anakin doesnt talk to him anymore :(
Fun Fact: When Palpatine tells Anakin to leave Obi Wan, Anakin tells him: "His fate will be the same as ours". All 3 of them would then go on to die on the various Death Stars
Somehow...
But thats 2 different star destroyee
@@strahleman9651what?
*whispers* dont @@teipeu9033
And all 3 die to Darth Vader...or Anakin.
"I hate you"
"You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you."
That line will never *not* bring a tear to my eye.
It's incredible how, having watched this movie a hundred times, I still cry because that scene just breaks my heart...
It wrecks me everytime
That whole scene traumatized me.
Imagine if they left the entire scene in with Anakin screaming "Help me!" while burning and Obi-Wan saying "I cannot" and walking away...
@@Brainth1780 last week I went to see ROTJ in cinema and I didn't expect to cry. No matter how many time I've seen them. That's why I love star wars
Ian McDiarmid was only 37 when he first played Palpatine in Return of the Jedi. He was surprised when he received a call asking him to reprise the role for the prequel trilogy, as he thought they would have wanted a younger actor.
It was actually a great move. I think Palpatine was actually in his 50's in episode 1
It amazes me it takes most reactors so long to figure out who the Sith Lord really is. I get that in 1997 it was spoiled by Emperor toys that had Shiv Palpatine on the box, but to me at least it was as obvious as the Queens decoy in ep1
@@callmeshaggy5166 you're totally right. The FIRST giveaway that is BLATANTLY obvious is the name 'Emperor Palpatine'.
Then you add the fact of the 'Hooded Face' in holo-communications from both the Original Trilogy AND the Prequel Trilogy and its a dead giveaway.
I mean SERIOUSLY, how can ANYONE who's actually paying attention NOT make the connection.
That is of course UNLESS the theory that Jar Jar is the TRUE Sith Lord actually holds water.
After all, Jar Jar was 'banished' from Gungan City and just so happened to "conveniently" be in the EXACT same location that both Qui Gonn Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi landed in. And then "conveniently" gets "saved" by Qui Gonn, thus ENSURING that Jar Jar stays with them because of a "life-debt".
AND during the battle between the Gungans and Battle Droids EVERY time Jar Jar "trips" wherever his hand is pointed the Droid tangled up with him "conveniently" shoots in the EXACT same direction.
PLUS when Padme tells Qui Gonn outside the shop that the Queen wouldn't approve and Qui Gonn tells Padme the Queen doesn't need to know Padme then says "well I don't approve" and you can CLEARLY see Jar Jar silently mouthing the EXACT SAME THING.
Plus when Jar Jar, from a COMPLETELY stationary position, gives a HUGE acrobatic leap high into the air that looks EXACTLY like a Force Jump before diving into the water.
Then the fact that ALL the Gungans who first see Jar Jar in Gungan City actually look and act AFRAID of him.
If you think about it, Jar Jar is a little TOO clumsy, and yet it ALWAYS 'seems' to actually BENEFIT him.
After all, Jar Jar goes from being a "banished outcast" to being a prominent member of the Republic Senate.
Just my own personal opinion anyway.
@@reedallen4613 hes never called "emperor palpatine" until ep3
in 4-6 he is "the emperor", and 1-3 he is "chancellor palpatine", for an innocent mind i can see how they can seem as different characters
i knew before i watched the movies so i cant say
@@alexo_pog I can definitely understand where you're coming from dude. And YES, while I admit I might have been HONESTLY mistaken, I PERSONALLY think that my perspective has merit. Or to quote Joe Pesci's character from the movie 'My Cousin Vinny', my perspective "Holds Water".
Sorry, just a little attempt at humor haha.
But I WILL point out that in Episode 1 when it CLEARLY shows Palpatine's face in a sort of 'profile' during Qui Gonn's funeral on Naboo, in my opinion that's VERY similar to how 'Emperor' Palpatine was depicted via hologram communications in the Original Trilogy.
Of course, if I'm remembering that wrong, then I honestly don't have ANY problem with being corrected.
I'd ALSO like to point out that I'm NOT an "innocent mind" as you put it. And I honestly don't mean any disrespect to you for using that particular terminology, I simply feel the need to point this out, in a polite and respectful manner.
I CLEARLY remember seeing the Original Trilogy in theaters when they FIRST came out back when I was a kid in Elementary School when Episode IV FIRST was shown Nationally in theaters.
Just my opinion anyway.
33:42 One of the saddest parts of the entire trilogy is that Padme was buried still holding the japor snippet that Anakin gave her when they first met on Tatooine. Padme is dead, Anakin has fallen to the dark side, and that one piece of jewelry calls back to their innocence when they first met.
This is just too good
And that despite everything he has done, she still believes in him.
Damn you weren't joking when you said you were gonna speedrun the prequels to get to Revenge of the Sith 😂
That’s how George Lucas did it

This movie and Star Wars The Clone Wars are why I love the Prequels. Order 66 and the fall of the Republic is probably one of the most impactful moments in the series.
It's so rough watching characters you get attached to like Kit Fisto and Plo Koon just get taken down so efficiently because of the betrayal.
absolute facts. revenge of the sith and clone wars are the best star wars imo
Kamino said army was for the republic in attack of the clones but the Jedi leads it what is the difference or is everything the same
Clone Wars 2008 is utter trash for a multitude of reasons. some of which are now coming to roost in the live action ahsoka show. @@jacktait9849
Ewan McGregor, (Obi) and Hayden Christensen (Ani) got actually that good at lightsaber fighting. The training they did for it was absolutely insane, and the actual speed they're moving in the movie is the pace they really went at it. Its fuckin bananas
Fun fact, I believe they had to slow down because the camera’s could not keep up with how fast they were
What makes this movie even sadder is it was confirmed by the director that Padme didn’t die bc of child birth or being choked, but because she didn’t want to live without anakin and was heartbroken that he switched. It even says they don’t know the reason she’s dying, but they know she just doesn’t have the will to live anymore. So if anakin didn’t give in to palpatine she would’ve lived because palpatine put those visions in his head so he could gain full control.
Anakin had some kind of "prophetic dreams" about death of his mother. I guessed they were real because of his connection to the force, so I always guessed that force was warning him even in Padmes case. So his dreams about mother are his own but about Padme Palpatine manipulated them? 🤔
I love Palpatines face on the balcony at the end of attack of the clones when he’s watching over his clone army. Because this is essentially what propels him into power, he has control of the separatists and the droid army and he has control over the republic and the clone army. An endless supply of soldiers to fight each other and destabilize the galaxy in the background while he’s in the heart of the senate getting more and more power and control
Mace Windu: *Corners Palpatine*
Anakin: *Arrives*
*Cue Clopin from Hunchback of Notre Dame:* 🎶 And for one time in his life of power and control, Palpatine felt a twinge of fear for his empty black soul. 🎶
Maybe this is what war is in real life. Facilitating and overlooking both sides… to meet the needs and wants of the elite
All the fighting and pain and loss gives him power - he feeds off that dark side energy,....
Local senator rises to Emperor by playing army with his toys. Millions die.
Kamino said army was for the republic but the Jedi leads it what is the difference
26:45 originally it was supposed to be established that Obi-Wan knew about Anakin and Padme basically the whole time. That's why after he saw how Anakin acted toward Padme on Geonosis, he still sent him to escort her home to Naboo.
From a deleted scene where Obi-Wan visits Padme:
Obi-Wan: "“I am not blind, Padmé. Though I have tried to be, for Anakin’s sake. And for yours. Anakin has loved you since the day you met, in that horrible junk shop on Tatooine. He’s never even tried to hide it, though we do not speak of it. We... pretend that I don’t know. And I was happy to, because it made him happy. You made him happy, when nothing else ever truly could.”
Padme: “You love him, too, don’t you?” When he didn’t answer she turned around. He stood motionless, frowning, in the middle of the expanse of the buff carpeting. “You do. You do love him.” He lowered his head. He looked very alone. “Please, do what you can to help him,” he said, and left."
I actually prefer Obi-Wan not knowing. It makes more sense for him to not be able to help Anakin if he doesn't know what is happening, what wrong choices Anakin are making.
If he knew, he would have stayed with him in these last important moments and would not have let him fall prey to the lies of Palpatine.
@@leovk5779 The fact is, like all Jedi, he wasn’t considering the option Palpatine might be the Sith Lord. A corrupted politician, perhaps, but not Darth Sidious himself. He hadn’t taken into consideration the fact Anakin might be in THAT much danger. Nor did he know how intense Anakin’s fear of losing his loved ones was.
So yeah, Obi-Wan knowing actually does fit with how he behaves, and it makes his story even more tragic.
@@rickblaine9670 I disagree. If Obi-Wan had known, he would have done everything to help him, especially help him not get controlled by his fears. Like "I'll protect Padme", or even just staying by his side whatever happens in those final dramatic moments, and then Anakin would not have been tricked. Obi-Wan really cared about Anakin, so not doing that would have been out of character even if he is a jedi. Not knowing Palpatine was a dark lord of the sith would not have changed that.
I don't think he exactly *knew.* I think it was more of a suspision. Perhaps he only thought Anakin had a crush on her and didn't realize they were already honeymoon deep.
@@leovk5779 Anakin wanted to keep it a secret, knowing how edgy Anakin can be, Obiwan decided to keep his distance on Anakin and Padme's relationship.
It’s such a serious moment but I couldn’t help but laugh at “you just shmurdered all the Jedi kiddos”
maggot
What makes the final moment between Obi wan and Anakin even more sad, saying "you are my brother" just shows the kind of love and feelings Obi wan could've had with Anakin. Remember in Ep 1, Obi wan wanted nothing to do with the kid. Even as adults, they worked together and had a great partner ship (sometimes with a few disagreements on the side) but because they're Jedi, they cant have any emotional attachments, even positive ones. Anakin had Quigon and obi wan as mentors, but what he really wanted and NEEDED, was a father and a brother to be that emotional support in his life. So overall, obi wan calling Anakin "brother" was too late.
"could've" had with Anakin? Why would Obi-Wan even say this if he didn't already have this exact love and feelings?
@@MrZackavelli What I meant is , could've expressed these emotions more clearer.
Padme’s last words: there is still good in him
Anakin’s last words: you were right.
underrated comment 🙌🏼
Oh the feels
This comment didn’t have to hit me in the feels the way it did
For me, I first saw the Clone Wars cartoon as a kid. I then saw the six films in chronological order, and it was the greatest movie experience I've ever had
The Clone Wars series puts a lot more things into perspective and makes that 3rd movie hit harder. I would definitely recommend watching that series.
@@SSSlid Not everything is really necessary, but I think it's good enough to watch it all. Maybe avoid the animate Clone Wars movie because it's pretty pointless. It only introduces one of the recurring characters. That's about the only purpose of it.
its also explains what happened with ashoka and maul
What hits harder after watching the Clone Wars is watching Asoka fighting Darth Vader in Rebles.
I like how it makes Anakin feel more dignified with his anger for being allowed on the order but not as a master. He feels like he's earned it having already trained Ashoka.
@@SSSlid watch it all I'd say including the movie...
You’re one of the only reactors who actually ‘gets’ the complexity of Anakin’s character and not just see him as a creep who totally deserves what he got. This one surely always made me appreciate the original trilogy more and more especially Vader and Obi Wan fights. The death of Padme and Rise of Darth Vader along with Anakin/Obi Wan duel scene still remains my favourite in this one. With that said Revenge of the Sith and Empire Strikes Back are the best Star Wars movies ever.
Revenge of the sith is my favorite star wars film and film in general. It is so cool to see someone experience it for the first time and GET what is so good about it. The prequels got criticized so harshly by fans of the OT that I think the general consensus is that they were flawed movies. To me the supposed flaws don't matter because the story beats hit and hit harder than any other films. The transformation of Anakin to vader is insane and the ending of the story lines up so well.
This film made the Saga truly about Anakin and his journey. He is the hero of star wars and in the end he is the chosen one who kill palpatine and returns balance to the force. He is not the perfect hero that Luke is, he is a deeply flawed character and that is what makes him so compelling.
One of the darkest Star Wars films in the series, as well as Empire Strikes Back and Rogue One.
I just didn’t connect to any of the boring, bland, cardboard cutout characters in R1.
@@codybishop7526 bro don’t disrespect andor like that!!! 😔
@@codybishop7526Same
I really don't think Padmé died because of a broken heart. Her last words were "There's still good in him." She was a fighter her whole life. She wouldn't have given up on life like that. Not until she tried everything to convince Anakin to turn back to the light. And especially would want to be there for her kids. So I believe Palpatine actually knew how he can "save the one he cared about". I think he kept Anakin alive by draining away Padmé's life. I mean Palpatine wanted Padmé dead anyway because he saw her as a threat to his dominance over Anakin. The droid doctor had no idea what was happening, it just said what the only logical scenario should be according to its programming. I also like this theory because it means Padmé continues to live in Anakin in some form. His wife saved his life, and later his son saves his soul.
If he had the power to drain life and kill someone from such a distance, why the need for assassins? I mean - I know Vader chokes people out between ships in the OT but I always figured that was because they were "relatively" close and within visual range or on screen so Vader knew where they were, possibly even a power the Emperor didn't have.
I thought similarly, but it wasn’t Palpatine draining life from Padme, but Anakin himself, unconsciously draining her to save himself. Having been conceived by midichlorian manipulation, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility!
I like this so much better than 'She sad, so she dead'
@@Taterazay95 Palpatine knew how to manipulate them as well, something he and his master had learned together.
@@bunkymartian1652 Tell that to Carrie Fisher's mother.
As an old man, this was the right combination of irritatingly irreverent, adorably innocent and refreshingly authentic, a rarity in all these faux-reaction channels. Well done!
Fun fact: while Anakin is telling Padme that he’s going to Mustafar to “end the war”, 3PO is asking R2 what’s going on with him… R2 replies that he doesn’t know… because Anakin doesn’t talk to him anymore.
I always love the moment people start to figure out who Darth Sidious is and you definitely didn't disappoint.
People who love movies, usually are curious about the actors in them. Watching ROTJ, and not looking up Ian McDiarmid. Always suspicious about that.
But do people not recognise his voice? is this a common thing, not knowing it’s him until the reveal?
I knew it was the emperor even in Phantom Menace and I was only 10, cause I recognised his voice. I thought the everybody knew except the characters lol
@@saneill17 Hmm, did you watch it in theater? And did you watch the re-released Special Edition of the old trilogy (when they inserted the CGI)the year before?
So, there's a theory that Palpatine planted the visions in Anakins head to manipulate his fear of loss. Then as Vader was being operated on. Palpatine leached Padmes life force to sustain Vaders life until the armor was in place.
Also, it is canon that Palpatine had Anakins surgery done with no pain relief. So the pain further fueled his rage. Not to mention that the suit didn't fit well and was substandard cybernetics. So Vader was actually itchy and in pain while wearing it. Which he needed to do. So he was in a constant state of aggravation.
While it's a nice theory, I think it sort of dilutes the point of Padme's death. The fact that there's nothing medically wrong with her isn't meant to make you try to figure out a "real" explanation, it's meant to be poetic. She's a pure soul who can no longer live in a world of darkness. Like the Elves of LotR, who must flee from Middle Earth in the wake of Sauron lest they be corrupted.
I just have to say: at 10:15, I laughed so hard, I couldn't breathe properly for a solid five minutes, all the while trying desperately to explain to my poor fiancé (who was not watching the video) why I was suddenly dying XDD I ended up sending him the link because I couldn't say anything without laughing hysterically lmao. Brilliant joke, 1000/10. I now cannot unsee General Grievous with that music and his walk anymore 🤣🤣🤣
so in the novelization of episode 3 I'm pretty sure Anakin was going to originally let the kids leave but due to the number of clones with him he figured its merciful to kill them himself over the clones
How did he feel about the clones being replaced with stormtroopers
I believe for the light saber battles they were either choreographed or trained by an Olympic fencer... That's why they were so damn awesome...
Back when these released people complained that they were too fast and thus unrealistic. But the reality is that people DID do this battle. Hayden and Ewan really hit sticks together exactly as shown in the movie, they hurt each other repeatedly in the outtakes getting out right. If two regular men could pull this off with only choreography, then two space wizards with precognition and a lifetime of training could do this no problem.
@@Kjf365 yeah plus it matches the epic score. I couldnt imagine a slow fight scene next to that score
@@Kjf365 The thing is, lightsaber combat SHOULD be fast. They are not blades of steel with weight, but a handle with light emitting out. The issue with combat in the sequels is that the characters swing them as if they have a lot of weight.
If you look at the behind the scenes, the sabers are lightweight and the glow is photoshopped on. The sequels used actual heavy sabers sadly :(
@@BuffPomsky That's actually not true. I used to think that too, but then I found out more. Plasma has a hefty weight to it, and so do lightsabers. Even in the Clone Wars, characters who don't usually have lightsabers and get them comment how they're heavier than they thought they would be. They switched to the heavy blades in the prequels because that's how it would actually feel using a lightsaber in real life.
I love the climactic lightsaber duel on Mustafar between Anakin and Obi-Wan. The music, the fight choreography, the special effects and the audio design were all so top notch and hold up really well. It's supremely more tense than any of the other lightsaber duels.
Nick Gillard, who was stunt co-ordinator on the prequels stated in an interview that the slaughter of the younglings sequence was much longer & far more disturbing than we see in the final cut of the film. Upon seeing the dailies George Lucas just went ‘Oh god’ in horror of how brutal it was. All that remains of the sequence is what’s seen in the security footage Obi Wan watches.
Also, Hayden & Ewan were so fast during the final battle, that they had to slow down the footage. The BTS footage of them practicing is absolutely insane!!
There’s a very good fan film called Shards of The Past, which I recommend you watch.
Nick himself is seen in the security footage getting choked out by Anakin while Anakin fights someone else one handed.
I was always a Star Wars fan, but something about Episode 3 really rounds out the saga. It adds so much to the universe and the characters that being a fan somehow felt complete after seeing it. Totally agree that it adds to the appreciation of the whole series. Great reaction!
Gary Oldman was originally cast to play General Grievous. He flew to Australia (where the film was shot) and recorded lines for the character, but he would ultimately drop out of the movie as his participation violated some Australian rules of union filmmaking. The role eventually went to Matthew Wood, who was a Lucasfilm sound editor at the time and not a professional actor.
Of all the new characters introduced in the prequels, both Grievous and Watto are my favorites. We see Maul, but never get to 'know' him, but having Parks play him made it special.
@@terrylandess6072 Considering what they did for Dooku in Tales recently, I really hope they canonise Grevious's backstory in some way because it is insanely tragic. As a design, I loved Grievous, but finding that out, I was fascinated.
@@AmazingChi they already did, in the very first episodes of clone wars.
Originally this movie came out right after those episodes ended, so him coughing in this movie made sense as a continuation.
@@videohistory722 No, I mean his full origin as a regular organic person and the tragedy that makes him a cyborg.
The coughs though were actually George Lucas. Little tidbit for ya.
This is the only part in all of Star Wars where Anakin/Vader chokes someone with his whole hand. He didn’t know his own strength while in a full rage
Also if you listen very closely, right before the mask goes over his face, you can hear Anakin’s raspy voice say “Padme help me”
He's got a pretty good grip on a young padawan during the holotapes :)
Anakin choked multiple characters throughout the clone wars show.
He actually chokes her with his machine hand
6:33 Ange: "I'd recognize that mouth anywhere"
Me: Well you haven't for the last 2 movies sooooo...
This is going to date me, but I saw A New Hope when it originally released. It was the first movie I was allowed to see at the theater by myself. I have been a super fan since 1977. I came across your channel as a reaction recommendation from UA-cam. I watched your reaction to the first episode, and decided to watch this one because I absolutely love watching people fall as much in love with this series as I am. Great reaction.
The Clone Wars gives so much more context to Anakins story arc and explains exactly how order 66 came to be; a.k.a how Plapatine had control over the clones. I’d recommend watching the series and rebels especially if you will watch any of the live action shows.
I knew this kind of comment was inevitable the moment I heard "You sound nice but you're not!" Lol
Always notice something new: In this case while watching the holotapes of Anakin killing younglings the following 'taped scene' was from the Chancellor's office. So the Jedi had cameras active in the office already watching him . . . . . While likely done for the story to progress (confirmation of Anakin's betrayal), it's not a good look for the Jedi.
I remember watching this in a packed theater and not a dry eye was in there at the end of the Obi-Wan and Anakin fight 😭
Also 100% yes on more Star Wars commentary please 😊😊
Been a Star Wars fan my whole life, love to see people's reactions. Glad you enjoyed it!
Funny that you mentioned maybe the Emperor had a body double in the holograms. In this movie they didn’t actually do that, but in the comics Sly Moore (the creepy bald all white woman that stands near Palpatine when he speaks to the senate) was force-sensitive and aware of who he was, and would use her abilities of manipulation to disguise herself as the Emperor to take care of a lot of his holocalls for him
The second he tells them 'Leave Us..." while speaking to Anakin, the amazing change in his tonal presentation should be the last 'clue' he is the Sith Lord.
Glad you liked this one! I thought your idea of lighsabers with Wii remote straps was great and I'm surprised I've never heard that before.
If you're willing to watch the shows I'd HIGHLY recommend them because they add SO MUCH to the story. The Clone Wars for example follows Anakin and Obi Wan as they lead their clone soldiers into battle between Episodes II and III. But there is so much more than that and you won't be disappointed. Just a couple things that show adds are more character development to Anakin, individuality to the clones, and the introduction to Anakin's own jedi padawan!
The most heartbreaking thing of all: Obi-Wan truly thought of Anakin as a friend. Outside of work, they definitely had a rapport. Obi-Wan grew to love him like a brother.
As a mentor to Anakin though, he was a complete failure, constantly lecturing and belittling and making it clear time after time that Anakin couldn’t count on him. Heck he even shouted it to his face one time “You’ll be expelled!” If the council wanted Anakin’s head, Obi-Wan wouldn’t have raised a finger.
And then Obi-Wan having to live alone in the desert for over a decade with those memories and the things he could’ve done different? Double ouch.
*Two* decades, actually, because it was 20 years, not ten.
*Fun Fact:* The last thing Obi-Wan sees before Vader kills him on the first Death Star, is Luke & Leia reunited!
The real tragedy of Anakin's fall was that he was the greatest of the Jedi, not just in power, but he was the kindest and most noble too. He cared for his droids, and for the clones under his command in a way that the other Jedi didn't, they just treated them like cannon fodder. Even Obi-wan reveals his prejudices with "if droids could think..." like you going to tell me that 3PO and R2 don't think?
We've got her hooked! You should totally do reactions to the Clone Wars series! The Clone Wars takes place between Episode 2 and Episode 3, and really fleshes out the important characters from the movies and gives so much insight into the galaxy's lore. It's all on Disney Plus now, and it's 7 seasons. That might sound like a huge time and work commitment, but each episode is 20ish mins, and the series is kinda broken up into story arcs that are usually 3 to 4 eps long. If you wanted to do reactions without dragging it out on your channel, you could do like one story arc per video instead of one episode. Also, while it's all excellent Star Wars content, it's not all essential, so I have created a list of the arcs and which are essential for other friends of mine if you would be interested in looking it over. Honestly, I can answer any questions about the Clone Wars you have; it's one of my top favorite shows ever. Even if you don't want to do a reaction to it for the channel, please watch it sometime on your own, there are some *PEAK* Star Wars moments in that show(Plus it's where Ahsoka is introduced, who is one of the best and most complex characters in the franchise, and if you liked the complexity of Anakin's darkness in the movies, then you will love how his character is written in the show.)
yesss
And Rogue One. I wanna see her reaction to *the scene*
She doesn’t react to a series that long.
YES PLEASE!!! It would be really cool.
Also there is the OG clone wars the shorter 5 minute episodes
this is amazing!!! lmfao the editing and humor for one of my favorite star wars movies is next level, please review the shows
18:16 the squeaky noise when he lands. 😆 That was do not part of the movie itself.
A bit of an explanation, cos the film doesn't cover it all that much. Remember how Obi Wan said the Jedi who ordered the clone army be cloned died 10 years before Kenobi showed up on Kamino, around the same time the Jedi guy ordered the army's creation?
Guess who had a hand in making the clone army?
And guess who made sure they had a secret set of orders bio-programmed into them?
Order 66 being "time to shmurder all the Jedi"
Also Padme "losing the will to live" is sometimes interpreted in an interesting way. Vader's first breath happens at the moment Padme dies. What if in his struggle to survive, Vader used the dark side to rob her of her last ounce of life and keep himself alive. Palpatine didn't lie about Vader killing her, and Vader did learn the secret to extending life through the Dark Side... in the most tragic way.
Palpatine's manipulation is the worst kind, cos he RARELY OUTRIGHT LIES. The Jedi were evil, they failed Obi Wan and Anakin by being so afraid of him (which leads to anger and hate and suffering and the dark side, according to Yoda) that they didn't train them to feel things right, and their inability to put aside their pride and emotion (something the council do too) caused Vader's birth and Obi Wan's fall into obscurity.
He never lied about them, that's the worst thing about it. The Jedi were hypocrites, and if they let Anakin learn about the dark side and emotions instead of shying away from them, he wouldn't have turned.
This whole story is so tragic. Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme, the Clones, the Jedi... It's so heartbreaking
If you wanna see Chewie's family I hear the Star Wars Christmas special is quite something 🤣🤣🤣🤣
But you wouldn’t understand it if you don’t watch the sequels first

It's definitely...something
Big thing you mightve missed:
Mace Windu said Sidious was too dangerous to be kept alive.
Sidious said the same thing about Dooku in the beginning.
which is exactly the moment Anakin started believing what Sidious told him earlier "The Jedi and the Sith are similar in almost every way".
A sith pushing for a kill made sense. A jedi? it just showed the decay of the jedi order to a point where they werent much different from the Sith
@@savsal2603 the most of people don't understand this
She talks so much over such crucial parts, it got kind of irritating.
Best lines from yoda, “not if anything to say about it, I have”
“If so powerful you are, why leave”
Anakin is the chosen one. He just fulfilled the prophecy in episode 6.
I got hooked on Star Wars pretty young. Remember watching Yoda and Luke meeting in Empire when it was replaying on TV and my Dad had flipped to it and thought it just looked so cool an interesting. Episode 3 is my favorite cause to me, Lucas paid off the fight everyone was waiting for between Obi Wan and Anakin at the height of their powers and I also like how in the prequels he and the actors put a lot more detail and training into the battles because this is the era where all of the knowledge was there.
Glad you’ve enjoyed the series so far!
Thats crazy. The first memory i have of star wars is seeing Luke meeting Yoda on my TV when i was like 8.
The score when order 66 is announced was amazing storytelling in itself.
One of the most tragic parts about the whole downfall of Anakin is that Padme's death was a self-fulfilling prophecy, had he not gone to the dark side, and also attacked her she would have never died. And while watching this I realized. That Palpatine proved to actually have the power to put a stopper in death, because he was somehow able to save Anakin who should have most definitely died from his wounds.
It’s so cool to see people still being introduced to something I love so much, it reminds me of the excitement I had when I first watched it! Great job 🙂
not sure if you saw it, but a really sad detail at 33:40 Padme is still holding the little charm that Anakin gave her in Episode 1
She definitely missed it. She talks way too much over important scenes.
i can watch this movie so many times and not get tired of it even though it makes me emotional but its still the best star wars movie of all time 😁
Nice to see that someone else is loving these 3 movies as much as I do. I like the First 3 (well 4-6) movies but to see how Anakin grew up and change was soooo good.
The editing on "Hello there" and "General Kenobi" is gold. Thank you.
Loved your reaction! This is exactly why George Lucas made these movies. To see such joy and wonder in you is great and is what makes his movies timeless.
I just love this film, my personal favorite of the saga. The darker tone, lightsaber battles (that by the way Ewan and Hayden performed themselves which is crazy), the BRILLIANT score by Williams...And just the third act alone is one of the best things of the franchise. It's just crazy to think that Anakin and Padme's love changed the galaxy forever
Anakin and Padme are like Romeo and Juliet but their love literally set the whole galaxy on fire 😂
@@tbakhalid4781 it's reason the empire ruled the galaxy and why it fell, ironic
Fun fact: in return of the Jedi when Luke jumps above darth Vader and takes the “High ground” darth Vader says to Luke “Obi Wan has taught you well” referring to the moment in this movie when Obi Wan says “it’s over anakin I have the high ground”
One of the greatest examples of a self fulfilling prophecy. That’s why I loved Obi Wan’s line “now you have become the very thing you swore to destroy.”
This movie really ties everything together. I agree, it made the original trilogy even better, and it’s impressive how it’s almost like backwards engineering.
The thing people need to remember about "The Prophecy" is that Anakin *did* actually bring balance to the Force. It's just that the Sith were always few in number. Now, the Jedi are as well. Balanced, as light and dark both exist, neither over the other in totality.
Thank you and don’t bring up rin I don’t recognize her as a chosen one. Only my boy anakin
@@joeclark2590 you're the one who brought her up so maybe you need to just let that shit go when people aren't talking about it. I get that you don't like it but you're the one throwing it and everyone's face cuz you can't let it go
@@joeclark2590 Who's Rin? From Naruto? lol. Rey I think you meant. Yeah she's trash.
Not quite. The prophecy was all about JUST destroying the Sith, as they are the ones causing the imbalance.
@@onemoreminute0543 False. Palpatine alone was the only Sith causing any galaxy wide inbalance.
You weren't wrong that _Revenge of the Sith_ was Dark and this was without a doubt my favorite of the Star Wars Prequels
Hope you react to more Star Wars content on the channel and if you love Revenge of the Sith and the prequels you should react to The CG Clone Wars film and the 2008 follow-up series as it's set between _Attack of the Clones_ and _Revenge of the Sith_ which will provide some gaps, questions, answers and plotholes from the prequels. So, If you love _Arcane_ which has cinematic quality episodes you'll love _Star Wars: The Clone Wars_ and don't forget to react to Rogue One, Solo, the Sequel Trilogy (even if it's polarized by fans), and the Disney+ series such as _The Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi_ and _Andor._
Yeah, reactors should watch the sequel trilogy and make up their own opinions about it. You're definitely right.
Most reactors that have watched the sequel trilogy, have ended up liking them, funny how that works!
@@ralfuz777 That's the power of Millenials born in the early-mid 1990's and the Generation Z. Yes, the Sequel Trilogy is a mixed bag and has LOTS of flaws, some enjoyed it, some loathed it.
For me I enjoy them despite the issues the films had. Could they have been beter with better writing? Yes. Are they the worst thing? No, far from it. I think overtime folks will start appreciate them much like how folks started to enjoy and liked the prequels which at the time fans who *ONLY* loved the Original Trilogy and nothing else started trashing the Prequels until, Clone Wars came into place.
Fun fact: Obi didn’t cut off just Anakin’s legs…he used a forbidden Sith move to cut off all THREE of his remaining limbs.
The clones are basically cyborgs, droids and humans in one. They simply can't refuse orders although Each one has their own personality and a lot of them had to have their memories wiped because killing the Jedi they loved traumatized them. The lore on the clones is so deep
retconned a bit in the clone wars series, they don't disobey orders because good soldiers follow orders but they will not obey if the order is to blindly charge a machine gun, the reason they obey order 66 is because they were forced by a chip installed in their brains as babies. all accoarding to palpatine plan. their memories were not wiped they were literally brainwashed by the chip and lost any freedom. Slowly they got replaced by stormtroopers with the passing years and at the end all clones that were left in the 501 (Anakin division) died on the death star
As always with these react videos, I always love when you "get it" with the Star Wars storyline. I've been a life long Star Wars fan and it is always nice to me when new people watch and just "get" why the story is so cool.
Probably the darkest film in the entire series. So many sad scenes, but Anakin v Obi Wan especially hurt to watch, with the music just amping up the pain
I've been a fan since you started reacting to A new hope! I love your commentaries! :D After watching the prequels, Alot of the Vader scenes in the original trilogy seem so much more impactful :D I would love to see your commentary on a re-watch of the originals now!
Ange, sooo many people were sobbing and stunned in the theater. They only had popcorn flavored napkins to wipe their tears and In the end they stood up and did a standing ovation with much happy clapping.
I saw the first one (#4) in the theater and it just blew everyone away. Seeing that ship come in from over head on the big screen felt like you had to duck down. Been hooked on them ever since. Great reaction Lady A.
There is actually one more movie that is newer but I would definitely recommend it, as it connects Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. "Rogue One: a Star Wars Story".
As there is a time skip between 3 and 4, it shores some of the points of "how did we get here?" that a lot of people had.
Another frenetic and perfectly Angelina reaction. Absolutely awesome.
IT HAS BEGAN!!!!! I've been looking forward to this! So glad you started do reactions to do Star Wars! It's my childhood trilogy. 🙏🏽
I didn't know you were doing the Prequels just now!
Well, just in time to binge the first two reactions before this one.
An amazing finale to an amazing trilogy.
There's a theory out there that Padme died because Palpatine somehow used her life force to bring Anakin back; which is very upsetting...but equally makes more sense than "dying of a broken heart" or whatever the robot spewed. Additionally, I believe Padme was much more defiant of Anakin's turn to the darkside in some of the earlier cut scenes, she pulled a knife on him when he choked her initially but I think they changed that.
dying of a broken heart/ losing the will to live is a real thing that can happen tho, so its not that far fetched for her to die that way
Palpatine put fear into Anakin putting him down a dark path resulting in Padme being heartbroken and drained of her will. The dying of Padme is showed parallel to Vader taking his first breath. Going a level deeper Palpatine drained the will of Padme to create a new life in Vader. Fear and will are darkness and light.
You mean dying of a broken heart (which has absolutely happened in real-life multiple times) is more believable than Palpatine latching onto a person's life energy (said person, Palpatine has no idea is currently located) and killing them is more believable?
If Palpatine can just latch onto any person's life energy and kill them, no matter where they are in the galaxy at that moment, Palpatine would basically be God.
The second the rebellion got started, Palpatine could just latch onto every single one of them, drain their life force, and by definition, no one could rise to challenge him.
@@MrZackavelli this is my logic behind it theres 0 precedent for it being a thing that either happens or will happen so the theory is just made out of thin air when they literally give you an explanation in the movie.
@@TheAz943 Exactly.
“Ode to my father”
it has every element to be a good movie… you won’t be disappointed!😊
honestly, Yoda and the Jedi had it coming to them
They got corrupted by their own power and influence and felt untouchable, they became exactly what they claimed to fight against
They failed Anakin more than Anakin failed them
Sidenote: I got chills watching order 66 as a kid, and I got the same type of chills watching the clone wars, when Maul is frantically and desperately trying to tell Ashoka what's really going on when he said "WE'RE ALL GOING TO BURN, YOU'RE ALL GOING TO DIE! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING!" I genuinely teared up. Maul, Ashoka, Anakin, Dooku, Greivous, The Clones and Yoda.. they were all pawns in The Emperors game of chess
Can’t wait for this reaction, on another note. Just wondering what your opinion is to watching the clone wars animated show at some point. It may be a big commitment depending on how fast you go through the episodes. But there are alot of great moments throughout the show ( mostly in the later seasons). But just curious if your interested in doing this sort of thing, if not then that’s fine but just wanted to ask
A lot of the nuances of Anikin's turn is in the Clone Wars show. Anikin is slighted and lied to by the jedi counsel for years while they forsake their own beliefs to win the war. He lost his mother, Ahsoka, and he thought he lost Obi-wan when his death was faked briefly. He held Padme's life above all else and once he sided with Palpatine he had to do and say anything Palpatine wanted so he could save Padme. Somewhere along the way he was corrupted and blinded by the power before he was cut down, burned, and put into a suit that was barely keeping him alive. Palpatine purposely used the most low tech suit possible to make Anikin dependent on him, then tells him he killed his wife and unborn child, dropping him into a pit of despair, anger, and hate. Where he stayed for over 20 years.
Yes! Clone wars tv show makes the these moments between atrack of the clones amd revenge of the sith make SO MUCH more sense..it delves much deeper into HOW Anakin truly starts veering towards the dark side. Its super cool! Highly recommened.
To watch this scene after clone wars/rebels (twiligth of the aprentice) and the Obi wan Finale always breaks my heart even more... and makes me feel even more emotional in return of the jedi when Luke can bring his father back
So happy to see you react to this movie! it's been of my favorites since I was a kid!
I just found your channel today and have instantly subscribed and been binging. I think this might be my favourite reaction to this film I’ve seen. Your ignorance to the discourse around the franchise is such a good thing. There’s a lot of people that love to shit on things and you can tell it flavours some people reactions. I hope you do the sequel trilogy and don’t read anything about it. You’ve had such a pure reaction that through empathy it’s felt like watching them for the first time. I’m totally with you on that line of ‘you were my brother anakin’ being just heartbreaking. It’s so sad what happens. As a kid I didn’t understand, as an edgy teenager it was cool to shot on things but as an adult I can appreciate it. I’m not too familiar with your channel and yourself so I don’t know if you’d be willing to watch other things in the franchise, but I thoroughly recommend the obi wan kenobi tv series. Also rebels and clone wars but they might be too long. I also started watching your lucifer reactions today, totally want you to continue that. May the force be with you, always x
Loved all your Starwars reactions! Such an amazing series. I rememeber watching this one in theaters with my cousins. Best experience ever.
Also, what scent is the candle you have? Big candle fan!
The Clone Wars tv show adds context to Order 66. Basically, all the Clones have inhibitor chips that make them more complacent to orders. And Order 66 basically forces them to to kill all the Jedi for treason against the Republic. It adds whole new level of tragedy because the Clones were pawns that were used like puppets for the Empire
Yeah because military forces uses to put fascism in power was something too unreal, it has to be a magic hypnosis that makes that happen.
As a big Star Wars fan, I love seeing your excitement for the prequels and the series as a whole! I def recommend watching The Clone Wars animated series which takes place between movies 2 and 3! You get even more character development and context of everyone, especially our boy Anakin! Keep up the awesome work Ange!
I loved your journey! I hope you'll continue to explore the rest of the movies in the Star Wars franchise. Especially if you're eager to watch the Original Trilogy again - you should Rogue One next as it takes place directly before episode 4 in the SW Galaxy timeline
This is my first video of yours I’ve watched. I’m glad we went on this journey together!
Im glad you caught on that Palpatine was Plagueis’ apprentice. Not a lot of people make that connection
I’ve always been a fan, grew up with it and have followed happily since. Super glad to watch your journey the entire way through!
But with the Wii straps you can't throw the lightsaber for attacking
Not to mention that it doesn't stop a lightsaber from being crushed (Droid factory in episode 2). As well as having your hands cut off mid fighht6(Anakin epi2 &Dooku ep3)
I remember when this movie came out back in 2005 I was just a kid those were the good old days. And I remember seeing Anakin be put in the Vader suit i’ve never had as many goosebumps ever in my life when I first saw that scene when the mask is being put on his face and then he breathes for the first time I got serious chills. And I remember seeing my mom cry after Obi-Wan cuts Anakin’s arm and legs off and then when Obi-Wan says you were my brother Anakin I loved you my mom was tearing up really bad.
My head canon is that Anakin was connected to Padme so deeply that when he was fighting to survive, he was pulling the life out of her through the force. His surgical scene and her delivery scenes are basically around the same time.
I saw it as Palpatine draining her life force to save him, using the power he supposedly didn't learn from Plagueis
Yeah I also think that. She literally dies right when he became Darth Vader + Sidious knew that she died, moments after she did and he may be strong, but even he couldn't have felt it, unless he was actively manipulating it. I think there is also a video somewhere analying the sounddesign which also strengthens that theory. You can hear a heartbeat in the background that stops exactly when Vaders mask is put on and resumes when he breathes again.
@@alphaviki7987 visually it's kinda mirrored too, they're both lying on surgical tables as she dies but vader is "born"
Ahhh that was so good, still gets me. Been a fan since I was little, my parents split when I was 4 or 5, I stayed at my father's on Sunday and he'd always rent a movie to watch, first one I remember was Star Wars.
I was 7yo when Ep IV came out, and LOVED them all, even if I was too young at the beginning to understand what was happening.
When Ep VII hit, I watched it twice on opening day. The first time standard, the 2nd in 3D.
Some people point out some negatives they perceive. I love them all, including the new Disney additions, just as they are.
New subscriber here. I love your reactions on this movie, and I also love your cool personality. It makes the experience a lot of fun. As far as Star Wars go, I'm a huge fan of the franchise. This movie in particular is definitely a tear jerker. Anakin could've had it all if he had listened to Padme. She was there to protect him and guide him, but of course, he let his anger get the best of him and Padme paid the price as well as himself.
