He's not saying it's not a great game to buy "day one" he's just saying it's a well supported game that would be alive still later down the line. Personally I like the look and feel of the game, played the first one, but I'm not going to pay full price.
Unless you are arguing for the sake of discount or bug fixes, idk what difference buying it later will do in regards to "future support". All the story DLC is going to cost extra as a separate purchase. It states as much when you read the description of the different editions of the game. So as far as "support" goes, i don't think the game is going to get any free content updates for this previously mentioned later.
Aiden saying things like “yeah, let’s go!” Or “ooh, I got this” when you are hitting a really good chain of parkour moves along with the dynamic music that swells as you start to gain momentum make traversing the world that much more exciting.
Apparently that was Jonah Scott’s (Aiden’s VA) idea that the dev’s thought was worth implementing and I agree as a character his little vocal details while playing is great, a true gamer that understands voice acting for video games specifically
Yeah, first time it happened I nearly freaked out, thought something was chasing me or that I accidentally ran past an unmarked interaction, but then I realized what was actually happening and I aim to get those combo sequence now!
Something underrated that I haven’t seen many other reviewers talking about is the sidequests actually being creative and fun. Some of them have such ridiculous or gripping narratives, where they don’t just feel like chores to get exp between the more interesting main quests.
Yeah me too the ambiance of the game is amazing the scenery the tornado alarm before the night and one of my favorite moment I was running down the street when the night was starting and alla the zombie where starting to get out crawling out of every hole they could
I gotta say regardless of all the improvements and shortcomings, THE WEAPON DESIGN is phenomenal. There's a bat with an rpg stuck on the tip, a pistol for a hammer, etc. its so fun!
The weapons are badass!! That's why when he said he barely visited a vendor because he mainly used his skills I was like wtf the weapons are so freaking cool tho!!!
@@basura4173 its just that some of the skills do more dmg than many weapons, now this might be due to him not playimg endgame but only the main story once, where its true the dropkick damage is very good
@@basura4173 Yeah and you have to upgrade the mods it really improves the weapons a lot. It you just run through the game and don't get the military tech and the inhibitors then you are missing out on the best part of the game
Yea honestly one of the most epic parts of my playthrough so far was scaling a giant building; the music syncing with my giant leaps over a drop to my death and Aiden getting hyped over it. Good stuff
This and Days Gone have the best dynamic soundtracks I've ever experienced. Even Aiden begins responding to high skill gaining successful parkour combos. He begins muttering to himself, psyching himself up. It's great. Super small touches, but really motivating when you come across them. Also, listen to the theme ''Empowering Yourself'' if you ever feel down.
I played about 12 hours and man this game is so addictive. Progression in DL2 is very very well-made, inhibitors, new weapons, new skills. It really is a joy to play
Honestly it’s so fucking heartwarming to see everyone actually enjoy a Big budget game for once. The past 3 years or so the game industry has been releasing half baked games out the ass. Just good all around
Same, I’m actually glad this game became the second good Triple A game (correct me if I’m wrong) in 2022 which delivers actual hype and not broken unlike Cyberpunk, BF2042, etc.
@@seventyfive2310 my bad lol, I didn’t forget about those. there’s like two dozen well received games for sure but everything else have been desensitized to money pandering or just straight broken on release, admittedly multiplayer games most of the time(cyberpunk ouch)
@@seventyfive2310 Yeah those are superb, so is DMCV, RDR2, RE2R, Jedi Fallen Order, the Doom games, etc. There’s plenty of great modern AAA games, they’re just increasingly rare as each year passes it seems as we keep getting garbage like battlefield 2042, cyberpunk 2077, TLOU2, Wolfenstein Youngblood, and what not so I understand the frustration with the modern AAA gaming space.
One thing I really hate the most in this game, is zombies having no drag doll anymore, the whole fun of the first game was to slash at them and hit their legs and they would fall and such
In terms of pure fun factor alone I’d give this game a 9/10, it’s insanely addictive to play and if you have any friends to fuck around with it gets even better.
Which is why I think they did such a great job with the sequel. They know that people loved the gameplay from the first game, and they use that as foundation for the sequel and make it even better. And the open world is definitely better. I really love the look of the city, and they did a great job at making go from point a to point b is fun just like the first game, if not better than the first game
@@gdottothegamer1001 The gameplay is fucking stellar. 30 hours in the past two days and right now I'm holding myself back because I'll just end up finishing it if I don't. One gripe is the story. They could have done a 7 hour story with ACTUAL branching paths kind of like dishonored and it would have been world's better. 7 hours each playthrough with 4+ paths would have made this game an easy 9/10 but right now as is, the story and the overwhelming amounts of unnecessary cutscenes hold it back to a 7/10 simply because of the forced story.
@@mrflyingturtle9447 I forgot to say, while I agree that the story isn't that good, I would say that it's an improvement. And even for people who dislike the story, most of them still find the game fun, just like the majority of people who played the first game. And about the branching paths, I think the reason why they couldn't executed it very well is because Chris Avellone left the project
One thing I really hate about this game was the volatiles because I never saw them outside of main story missions towards the end. And even then they would 1 shot me because you would have to sneak past them. My favourite part of the first game was fighting a volatile and just making it out with a smudge of health.
Its because lore wise, Volatiles are weaker than when they were in Dying Light 1. In 2, theyve evolved over years to be a shit ton stronger than who they were in the first one.
@@Imjorsh You'd still find one or two volatiles around at night. Now you dont. That sucks. I hope techland makes it so they at least spawn and patrol around. Rsrely, but they still should be around.
My only complaint so far is the fact that Crane is only mentioned twice, when everyone had been making theories of his sentient volatile nature. He can't be dead. I'm certain we should have a DLC based on him.
it makes sense that he is barely referenced, because well the game takes place more than 15 years after the first game and the fall of the world happened in between both games and only one character so far in the game knows crane which was spike. no one would really know who he was
@@TroublTurtle I think it is very far away, Harran is obviously in the Middle East and mostly populated by middle eastern people, with Villedor the population isn’t middle eastern, most are like American and British. Aitor also said that his family was in London right before the fall so maybe close to there somewhere in europe
I thought maybe there'd be a future DLC or even an entire game based on playing as/with Crane & Aiden dealing with their infections although I'm not too sure what else can be explored in Aiden's story besides that
Well Techland ran into issues with the #MeToo movement and the obvious government lockdowns, so they probably meant to do more than what we got. Expect something more about Crane in a DLC for sure. They always give their games tons of love even after release. Hell, especially after release. DL1 from 2018 to 2021 was legit twice as good of a game. From 2015 to 2018 possible three times so. The fact that this is in my opinion gameplay wise at least already better than the first means we're in for a hell of a game a few months down the line. I wish companies that actually gave a shit about their fandom and aren't just trash rehashers like the big heads such as Ubisoft and Naughty Dog had more manpower and more time. Imagine if this game had an infinite deadline and hundreds of folks working on it like RDR2.
I think the movement plays a large part in the maps of both DL games, the first ones movement was perfect for its map with a more focus on 2-3 story building while DL 2’s movement is perfect with its 10-20 floor buildings.

Yea this is something people don’t mention when talking about the easier nights like if the nights were just as hard you would never get anything that is gained specifically from night in the first you didn’t go out at night because it was hard and also because there was no reason to go out
I would like to point out that in the months after release, the game has been upgraded with more aggressive zombies and they are more easily triggered into aggressive states by other zombies noticing you. Volatiles are less rare and will actually stare you right in the face if you go into certain areas during daytime. I played this game early september and had many encounters where I had to NOPE outta there. The story isn't the best indeed, but still I found myself caring somewhat about how things would unfold. Overall great game, worthy successor of the first game for sure.
@@tonyflamingosucks6590 they recently added, or will add soon, transmogrification (armor appearance) and various gameplay overhauls. If you played and liked the first game you'll have a blast with this
They can’t continue if people keep holding off for late purchase to pay less. And then we wonder “oh no what happened? This game slapped” when they cancel
I wish there were more volatiles. That was like one of the main threats when going out at night and it was terrifying when trying to avoid them because you would know you would get your shit rocked. Now it feels like they’re very rare to find I’ve really only found like one in one of the quarantine zones.
I bet they'll add them in. We already know it can be done. They added new and different zombies in Dying Light 1 all the time. Even boss battles too. Just like they can make the nights longer and darker. So it's not hopeless
They also spawn in some dark zones during the day. I remember one time trying to do one during the day and I was being sneaky AF did a takedown on a zombie and 1 second later I have a volatile putting his hands where they weren’t suppose to be. I barely made it out alive.
This game feels way different than DL1 and at times I don’t like the differences but with time I think I’ll get over it. Combat is a major improvement over DL1 since DL1 was pure cheese once you got grapple and finishing stomp but the zombies feel a little more tankier. I liked being able to aim for the neck with sharp weapons and having the chance to just instantly decapitate it at any level.
hopefully the game fleshes out well with time, Dying Light 1 had a lot of stuff added to it throughout the years, given that fortunately techland actually cares about their games and the communities that are tied with them. IF Techland's marketing for this game stays stellar like it has, the DLC and updates are gonna improve this game 10 fold. Honestly I'm in a honeymoon phase with the game right now, HUGE fan of the first one so its a bit of a tough pill to swallow to hear that the more I play the more I will find out the underwhelming of the game. I am an optimist how ever, so I have high hopes with this game and techland. Anyone feel the same or contrary?
This game will 100% get even better and I completely agree with you there. They did say it would have 5 fucking years of support which is great. A lot of the things I see people take issue with I doubt they can fix, like the voice acting and the rpg-ness, but I personally don't have a problem with either of those things at all so I'm a happy camper. And about the honeymoon phase thing, idk about that bro. I think the gaming communities standards have simply risen too high as a defence mechanism against so many disappointments. I actually think that people are being too harsh, I don't think it's a honeymoon phase at all and that it's actually a good game. For example, if skyrim came out today, it would be a laughing stock. I would also contest that DL1 came out and everybody thought it was kind of meh, and nowadays you have people making videos about how it's the best zombie game of all time. I think we need to give this game a lot longer to really sit with us and look back retrospectively to really appreciate it, just like the first game.
@@alfieboyes8927 I agree. Many others are going to be disappointed with Elden Ring or the new Horizon game. It creates an endless loop of just disappointment. And the bar gets so high that games can never reach that because it would be too ambitious, or too costly. And I think that the talent cannot keep up unless people in these companies get experience. See Ds2 was not directed by Miyazaki. Instead someone new got to have the exerience of that challenge. Some teams lose too much talent such is the case with Obsidian or others give up. But devs need response and time so they can develop their skills and get better. That's what I hope Techland does is develop talent in their team and try to keep it.

Dyling Light 1 had an expansion called The Following which was a massive improvement over the base game, added a new skill tree, two difficulty modes, the Evolved Volatile, and many more gameplay additions like the customizeable jeep and terrifying volatile hives that you had to sneak through. I really really hope Dying Light 2 ends up also getting an expansion that returns it to its horror roots.

@@theonlymm3469 Nah I have to agree with the other guy. Fewer zombies, a worse narrative, and the abhorrent stamina draining from doing something as simple as climbing a small building is what drops this game by a small amount. Plus there’s still a lot of other things I disliked as well. Still a fun game though
That was the best part of Dying light.. making sure you will be near safe house before the night comes, that clock ticking in the night and zombies start screaming in the background was truly amazing and memorable experience. So many devs dont know what makes their games great is almost sad
For me a big issue with the story is it centred around a finding a character you don't care about because you never met them before the end of the game . The reason the story is probably such a mess is because they fired chris avelone mid way through development .
Yup. Avelone himself has a pretty good track record of amazing story-telling. Im sure what worked, was his visions. And what felt put of place, are the things they replaced and/or added.
As someone with a little sister I was hooked immediately on the premise and motivation. The enjoyment of the plot went out of the fucking window during the epilogue for me. Not only because I think it may have glitched and forgotten story decisions I'd made but the big plot twist (in non-spoiler form) was literally something the character should have always known but for some reason just "oops hey I forgot oh yeah that's right"

Yea but they ruined the atmosphere. You won’t be thinking about this game in 6 months because it has no soul and isn’t memorable. Elden ring will be infinitely better. I loved DL1 so much but I’m being objective
@@shadux5587 lmao that’s probably the most subjective thing I’ve read about this game so far i had 30 hours in a full play through of DL with my friends; my friends and I aren’t even halfway through DL2 and we have like 25 hours so far and we’re nowhere close to being bored with it or running out of things to do. by this point in the first game we were just farming medkits on the bridge for shits and giggles bc there was nothing else to do. 2 has way more to offer than the first game and is 110% the game I’ll return to in a few years over DL1 lmao, it’s an objective improvement in every way. it’s flaws are no more flawed than the first game was, nobody cares about some pretentious “hurr the atmosphere” shit bc the game is way more fun to play and that’s what actually matters lol
Although both the games had bad stories I enjoyed the story of the first one better even though you didn’t get a say in it, it really showed dread and the struggle of crane trying to save the people of the tower. I feel like if you got story choices like in the second game the story of the first would be way more interesting since you could choose to either destroy the GRE files or keep them and get on the helicopter or something like that
I thought the first game was nothing but rage inducingly stupid story wise. The gameplay absolutely made up for it, but man... So many flaws. Rais is easily the worst antagonist in gaming, and there's just so much stupid shit like Crane legit burning all those crates of antizin KNOWING that he might not even get anything out of Rais. Why not stuff it in one of the containers or bushes nearby? And the irony is, he even takes a vial, yet when it comes to using it later, it's like that vial has just disappeared. Rais has to throw him one and make him choose between him and Jade. So they specifically show him pocketing that shit, then it just goes nowhere. Even when he needs it, he can't use it. It's like it never happened. There's so many little things like that that are just so badly written.
@@TheStraightestWhitest him burning the Antizin was also the stupidest thing because HE was also infected at this point. Why the fuck would you burn a crate full of shit that stops, not only a group of people but YOURSELF from turning? The first game you didn't have to go out at night a lot but when you did it was the scariest thing and you actually had to sneak around all the zombies.
i did wish they made nighttime a lot more intense and scarier but i also do really like the day/night features like zombies being inside at day so its safer to go indoors at night and the immunity timer, i liked those features and gave night time more uses and purpose
This review was pretty accurate. I'm definitely enjoying my time with Dying Light 2, but the worst part about it is night time, and how mid it is compared to the first game. Hopefully Techland takes fan criticisms into account with the next two DLC's.
If you want the original DL level of intensity go into a GRE facility during the day. Charlie just steamroller through the game to pump out a review, I doubt he went out of his way to get the better loot locked indoors.

I was going to say the same. So many people experience one or two aspects they either love or hate and then ignore everything else. And others just say stuff like, you can drop kick zombies, 10/10 game. When it's really not. I think this take here is very fair, and I myself would give the game a 7.0 from what I've played through so far. I would've given it at least an 8 if the nights felt more like the first one. Im currently playing DL1 first time,. and its by far the best zombie experience ive had. Nothing tips the scale because sometimes the zombies are just so relentless. I gets hordes upon hordes chasing me down because i make 1 tiny noise, then i spend time in a gay panic trying to survive. Seeing how they treated zombies in DL2 with a poor "wanted" level system just feels like it guts the experience. DL1 didnt hold your hand, you went out making noise, wandering off without looking at your surroundings, you pay the price.. but DL2, just looks like it wants to hold my hand. Does increasing difficulty change anything or does stuff just hurt and sponge more without any increase in actual AI/ mob density just seems like it can be a fun game due to gameplay, but it also looks to have a thin line due to the simpler changes.
@@SweetChili1224 I know the gameplay is still there, but they made a lot of choices that detract from the original. Just need to wait and see the roadmap for what they have planned
I personally despise how they basically made night time not scary and obsolete, removed physics from combat and added a shitty RPG system, but the game is objectively a good game when looked at without nostalgia for the first one. Everyone is free to enjoy the game, obviously. I will wait until the modders remove stuff that annoys me first before playing it.
So you’re telling me the first ones was scary? It was only even remotely scary for an hour or two, the volatiles in dying light 2 are no joke and fighting them while 5 more are coming at you is not recommended. In dying light 2 you as the player are so scared of volatiles that you have to resort to running. On the ps5 version of dying light 2 people barely have the kill a volatile trophy due to how much they’re trying to run away from them. In the first one fighting volatiles is easy since it’s usually one, in this game they flood out of windows, vents, bust out of doors, truly showing you how bad they want to kill you and devour you. In the first game they just chased you (wow spooky, 1 volatile, so scary). They did a way better job making the second one scarier, scarier music which gives anxiety, the infected are quicker and constantly spawn in front of you to keep you on your toes so that you have to keep making quick choices on the fly, they flood out of apartments and jump out of windows of skyscrapers to add even more emphasis on how desperate they are to kill you. Play the game for yourself and see, watching reviews by the same guy that gives all of the good shit 70-80’s isn’t the same as you playing it for yourself and seeing. It’s an improvement to the first in every single aspect Just as a sequel should be, better parkour, better combat, better story, longer story, more content in the base game, more fun.
@@SoTrippie first of all learn to use line breaks and not walls of text. But I can't think of a single scenario where you have only one volatile attacking you in DL1. Never does the game pit you in a 1v1 against a volatile so I have no clue what you're talking about.
@@Theviewerdude To be fair though he does still have a point. In DL1 you are literally just fucking doomguy and can kill every volatile you see late game with little to no trouble. While in DL2 getting caught off guard by even 1 volatile is enough to get you killed instantly. It kinda, you know makes it feel as if the volatiles are supposed to be stronger and not weak enough to just get beaten down by you in 2 seconds just to move onto the next one. Like seriously. In the first you didn't even have to use the UV light to kill them. You just bashed them over the head with a normal baseball bat until they eventually just died in a couple hits. In DL2 they feel like an actual force to be reckoned with. They are strong, fast, and not to be fucked with under any circumstances not only due to the sheer amount of them that show up during a chase but because they are just strong and hard to kill in general.

One of my major complaints is the modding and repair system. They seem to conflict with each other. On one hand you want to mod your weapons to make them unique/better but on the other hand you would be hurting yourself upgrading your weapons because that's how you temporarily repair your weapons.
I literally agree with u with everything, good and bad, except for the part where u said the zombies at night are nonexistent. I was getting pissed off because of how many zombies there were. One night I was playing and I accidentally fell of a building, took a lot of fall damage, and I look up, there's a million zombies right next to me. Chase starts, and I was getting so mad that I couldn't get back to the roofs. I died, due to being swarmed, and I realize that once you get to the ground in a chase in the open, you're done. The floor is lava
Exactly, had that happen in the quest where you need to get food for Kevin’s Parents, one Zombie spotted me just before i got to the building i had to be in and i got swarmed from all sides and they kept coming inside the building😂 couldn’t do shit
I mean, what probably hit me the most during my playtrough was the atmosphere in the game. DL1 had this pessimistic, heavy atmosphere and the audio fitted in very well. Here, I couldn’t really determine what mindset am I supposed to have
I find the inhibitor system so satisfying, because every inhibitor you take feels so good because you can access new areas and do more parkour. It made exploring pay off.
I’m so happy that someone realizes how bad the endings were. I really was unhappy after experiencing them. Very disappointed indeed. Thank you Charlie. 🙏🏻
Chris avalone getting fired clearly hurt this story. If he got to complete it the dude has an amazing resume so I don't doubt he writing all of it would have made the story much better.
Jonah Scott really put himself in it, loved the performance. The story made no sense to me especially towards the end. Didn't see any horrible game breaking glitches tho but a few were there
I'm 16 hours in and I gotta say this is probably one of the best games I have played in a while. The gameplay was just amazing and I enjoyed my time in every turn. The story is definitely poorly written and the sidequest are definitely better than the mainquest but that doesn't mean I am not enjoying the main quest (so far). This is definitely a must play (at least for PC players)
In my opinion it's just average, not a must play. The fights are better than DL1 but it's really annoying that the weapons lack impact and that there are almost no point using them after gaining a few skills (which was what i reproached in DL1 too). Getting it at half the price after some time would be ok but right now it's absolutely not worth 60 bucks.
well IGN spams videos almost every hour. they are killing their videos the chance to get noticed by people first, then they upload another video again. at least with charlie, its two videos a day, allowing people to rewatch or catch up
Thought I was gonna hate the infection countdown meter, inhibitors and factions, but I can't imagine the game without them. The infection meter makes nights way more risk/reward, the inhibitors are a fun progression challenge, factions are meh, but at least the choices feel difficult to make at times. Story is slightly lackluster but I absolutely love this game. Easy 9/10,with a few patches it'll be a perfect game. Highly highly recommend
Honestly, the infection countdown meter feels like it doesn't exist. Shrooms are easy to find and eventually they aren't even needed with all the boosters. After enough levels you can stay in the dark for 15+ minutes and I'm not even that far through the game.
They could have just made the nights actually difficult to add risk instead of adding somethingnas artificial as a time mechanic. They messed up a lot of things in this one imo.
this game feels more like an mmo than the first. I found that exploration was super cool, being able to just hop from building to building and able to enter almost all of those buildings was really sick too. This game should be a must play for everyone at a FUTURE DATE. Heard crossplay and other things are coming in with the co-op (which sounds fun, haven't tried it yet) which could mean even more updates and other stuff to go along with the game. I really enjoy it now after spending almost 3, 9 hour sessions of playing. Which amazed me how long the game is. It's a 9/10 compared to some newer games, but what it was supposed to be is more of a 7/10.
@@DolphinaLF So you mean...an RPG? An MMO implies massively Multi-player. MMO games have RPG elements just in a huge Multi-player setting. So....it's more RPG than MMO...you crone
I think compared to recent hyped up games that weren't even playable when they came out, having a game that can ACTUALLY play makes this game so much better 😌
i wake up for work at 5:30 am, on the god damn dot, and this mans already posted. great job man please keep it up! you’ve helped me so much more then you’ll ever know :)
You can fight volatiles in the game just not in missions. Also if your in neutral territory then you will definitely see a lot more zombies. It's just once you start assigning buildings to factions and get all those windmills and stuff that the humans start to take over more land and zombies and bandits start to lessen in the area except for buildings. The dark zones are where all the zombies are at. Also I'm sure you didn't notice but there replaced running out of stamina when you run to running out of stamina when you climb. Your not stopping every five seconds when you run so the stamina only depletes when fighting and climbing. And all though night has been dimed down (at least until you get chase level four) they do a lot of night missions that can be both side and story missions that make you go out at night. I also gave a video explaining the ending of the game for anyone who wants to see it
@@nealtibbs585 it has its issues but it does not deserve a 65. Not only is this just the base release of the game but techland says they have more content already in the works. Expect more soon to come
@@thegigamaster8476 Doesn't matter whatever the fuck they have planned. They could release the best shit ever made later on but the review isn't a judge of that. The review is a review of what's in the game NOW.
I’m not that far in the game yet but the night chases are still pretty intense, It’s not as “shit your pants” scary like the first game but man is it fun stringing together parkour to escape the virals and volatiles.
I was really excited when I found out Jonah Scott voiced Aiden. He's done a stellar job doing the english dub for Legoshi in Beastars, so I love seeing him do other big projects.
I really really enjoyed this game. Personally I thought the story was really good but I can understand people not liking it. If you are on the fence for this game I would say go for it.
Gonna be honest, all the story based side quest are great. And Aiden’s voice actor is great, I loved 90% of his lines and also the random little comments or expressions he said randomly while exploring in combat, him laughing to himself while dodging or parrying in combat showing his smug confidence/enjoyment of the fight or him just saying “Alright I’m getting pretty good at this.” After stringing some parkour moves together while free running really made Aiden one of my favorite first person protag’s. It’s a shame the main story is pretty bad because if it kept the same charm Aiden and the side quests did I’d be pretty happy to replay it multiple times in a new game plus to see all sides of the story.
I feel like with the knowledge from the two games and the following, they could really make an amazing third game if they figured out how to make an engaging story. Perhaps a possible third game being set at the very beginning of the fall could give it a more interesting story.
I really hope we get a dlc story. Dying light 1 still had better music and the night time was actually terrifying. You barely ever care about night time in this one. Volatiles are mostly doing nothing
At the end of the day you’re getting what’s on the tin, if you were expecting a narrative that was incredible you were setting yourself up for disappointment
UNCENSORED S*X specialdate.my.id/Loo Loo is a beautiful girl. He's the person I love, he's my light day. The way the music flows and sounds is extravagant and fun. Loo is icon, legend, beautiful girl, princess, inspiration, a star. I could go on and on, understand this. I love NBA Loo.#垃圾
That’s really bad. That’s the same as someone saying you shouldn’t go into games expecting them to be incredible, otherwise you’re setting yourself up.
Ik but from the way Charlie was describing it , it seems they were much more focused on the narrative side of things, which will definitely hinder the experience. Like , i won't play Mario for the story , but if there are cutscenes everywhere the game sucks
The (non-gamebreaking) bugs are welcome to me when I'm playing. Usually they happen shortly after I've become frustrated over something ingame and it always helps get a chuckle out of me and get me over the frustration I was feeling.
I’ve played about 11-12 hours so far and I’ve barely done any story quests because there’s so much to do outside of that that’s so fun. I think I would give it around an 80 so far in my playthrough if you don’t really focus on the story too much
@@janlansky4672 I mean each to their own but side quests obviously are fun. Time trials really show off the parkour mechanics, looting military vehicles, and hunting down inhibitors to increase health and stamina and unlock new skills. All this also blended in with the combat and parkour is a chef’s kiss to me but if you don’t like then that’s up to you I guess
@@forgetthisuser3338 isn’t that the point of games? Lol I mean I hear what your saying but it’s only like what 1-2 maybe in the prologue then once your out you can take your time with the story and go back to it only thing that grinds my gears is that there’s no volatiles roaming at night 😒
yeah, the role of zombies is much less in this game than the first one, that kinda bugged me out. But then again, its been 15 yrs since DL1, and as we all know worst enemies of humans are humans itself. Besides, most humans have adapted to the zombies so I can understand that part. DL 2 ( Stay Human) as the title says😂
The darkness is just waaayyy too dark. It actually hurts my eyes trying to see things in the dark. And the weird detailing everything has is just too much to look at. The first is superior.

When I see the 1 on the gear, it makes me think that there’s more levels of these items. Which was the same as dying light 1. There’s so many weapons that you will NEVER see unless you get to a high level, go to nightmare mode, and farm for powerful weapons from the quarantine zones or the prison with the Guru time

True
It's still a great game to buy day 1

The same could be said about the First Dying Light, Dying light 1 was really enjoyable with friends and it only got better as the story progressed

My only complaint so far is the fact that Crane is only mentioned twice, when everyone had been making theories of his sentient volatile nature. He can't be dead. I'm certain we should have a DLC based on him.
it makes sense that he is barely referenced, because well the game takes place more than 15 years after the first game and the fall of the world happened in between both games and only one character so far in the game knows crane which was spike. no one would really know who he was
Wouldn’t crane be in the country side of harran idk where dl2 takes place but probably very far away
I think the movement plays a large part in the maps of both DL games, the first ones movement was perfect for its map with a more focus on 2-3 story building while DL 2’s movement is perfect with its 10-20 floor buildings.
my favorite thing is that they actually gave me a real reason to go out at night now unlike the first game where it was pretty much useless

Now it feels like they’re very rare to find I’ve really only found like one in one of the quarantine zones.
I have about 17 hours in it, volatiles mostly appear when your chase level is 3 or 4, at least that’s when I saw them most
in my 20 hours of gameplay, I didnt encounter a single volatile. lmao
I barely made it out alive.

hopefully the game fleshes out well with time, Dying Light 1 had a lot of stuff added to it throughout the years, given that fortunately techland actually cares about their games and the communities that are tied with them. IF Techland's marketing for this game stays stellar like it has, the DLC and updates are gonna improve this game 10 fold.
Yup. Avelone himself has a pretty good track record of amazing story-telling. Im sure what worked, was his visions. And what felt put of place, are the things they replaced and/or added.

I have hundreds of hours and over 4 playthroughs. Every volatile encounter is either outside, where multiple are coming at you from every direction during a chase, or you're in a hive where there are tons of them.
Never does the game pit you in a 1v1 against a volatile so I have no clue what you're talking about.
@@SoTrippie It is definitely not an improvement in every aspect, and the story is laughable. You can admit something good has pitfalls.

It's a 9/10 compared to some newer games, but what it was supposed to be is more of a 7/10.
Wtf about this game seems like a massively multiplayer online game
@@DouglasCarter69 mmo aspects you crone
I bought the game to play it with a friend but theres no cross play until a update comes out which kinda ruined it for me
@@sciddles7473 same here, was expecting to play with my PS4 guys cuz of it being epic games
@@DolphinaLF So you mean...an RPG? An MMO implies massively Multi-player. MMO games have RPG elements just in a huge Multi-player setting. So....it's more RPG than MMO...you crone
The side quests stories are cool, i really like the "light the candle" mission
CHARLIE THAT WAS FAST! Nice content btw.
There's a massive road map and it seems that techland is listening so I'm guessing that the number of zombies and chase level stuff will be buffed.
This game is pure fun. Sometimes that's all I want in a video game.
I'll take great gameplay over story any day.
I think compared to recent hyped up games that weren't even playable when they came out, having a game that can ACTUALLY play makes this game so much better 😌
My controller got stuck drift the first week of playing this game. Best zombie game for its style.

I also gave a video explaining the ending of the game for anyone who wants to see it
well said. still cant believe he gave it a 65 and no one mentions that
@@nealtibbs585 it has its issues but it does not deserve a 65. Not only is this just the base release of the game but techland says they have more content already in the works. Expect more soon to come
@@thegigamaster8476 Couldn't agree more, couldn't help but feel disappointed but we all have our opinions
Fuck the night missions XD
@@thegigamaster8476 Doesn't matter whatever the fuck they have planned. They could release the best shit ever made later on but the review isn't a judge of that. The review is a review of what's in the game NOW.
I thought the stamina being harsh was a great feature, it felt more risk reward with the way you use it
man nights in dl1 are terrifying i even remember a video of one of the devs saying it was "too scary"
Tbh he sounds way too much like Roger Craig Smith. Idk if that was intentional or not, but everytime I hear him speak, it makes me think of Crane.
I'm about 18 hours in so far and honestly I'm enjoying the story and I'm hooked into it
But obviously the gameplay is the main focus
Start 1:20 - this how you feel going in for that 2nd dab ami rite??
I really really enjoyed this game. Personally I thought the story was really good but I can understand people not liking it. If you are on the fence for this game I would say go for it.
If I were to choose to play either dying light or dying light 2 right now I would choose dying light.
I was waiting for your review, thank you Charlie, will wait for discount
I feel like with the knowledge from the two games and the following, they could really make an amazing third game if they figured out how to make an engaging story. Perhaps a possible third game being set at the very beginning of the fall could give it a more interesting story.
I really hope we get a dlc story. Dying light 1 still had better music and the night time was actually terrifying. You barely ever care about night time in this one. Volatiles are mostly doing nothing
DLC story is already confirmed. It'll just take a while
Two are confirmed i believe
@@Oofioli yeah like a year
At the end of the day you’re getting what’s on the tin, if you were expecting a narrative that was incredible you were setting yourself up for disappointment
UNCENSORED S*X specialdate.my.id/Loo Loo is a beautiful girl.
He's the person I love, he's my light

is extravagant and fun. Loo is
icon, legend, beautiful girl, princess, inspiration,
a star. I could go on and on, understand this.
I love NBA Loo.#垃圾
Stop with the bots
considering how mediocre the first one's main story was, I doubt anyone was really holding their breath on it
That’s really bad. That’s the same as someone saying you shouldn’t go into games expecting them to be incredible, otherwise you’re setting yourself up.
Ik but from the way Charlie was describing it , it seems they were much more focused on the narrative side of things, which will definitely hinder the experience. Like , i won't play Mario for the story , but if there are cutscenes everywhere the game sucks
charles reviews are the best reviews ever lol
The (non-gamebreaking) bugs are welcome to me when I'm playing. Usually they happen shortly after I've become frustrated over something ingame and it always helps get a chuckle out of me and get me over the frustration I was feeling.
I’ve played about 11-12 hours so far and I’ve barely done any story quests because there’s so much to do outside of that that’s so fun.
I think I would give it around an 80 so far in my playthrough if you don’t really focus on the story too much
Genuinely curious, which activities do you consider so much fun? Nothing I´ve done was really exciting, to me it just feels like a Ubisoft game.
Honestly I enjoy the story 🤷🏻♂️ and there is a lot to do and explore and ways to level up I would rate it 80-85 also
But the argument is that they make the story such an integral aspect of the game
I like how you you did this review ,in a way that's not bulshit or you're not trying to be over positive just keeping it real.
Thought it would be bad but nah game is damn near awesome

I think the game has a lot of potential and knowing tech land I’m sure they will deliver and continue to work with the community to improve
The darkness is just waaayyy too dark. It actually hurts my eyes trying to see things in the dark. And the weird detailing everything has is just too much to look at. The first is superior.
First time watching any videos from this channel and Im definitely a subscriber now I appreciate the fact that he didn’t try to use this dumb cliché game review voice that everybody tries to use and he actually just spoke like a regular person who is having a conversation with you and didn’t beat around the bush
When I see the 1 on the gear, it makes me think that there’s more levels of these items. Which was the same as dying light 1. There’s so many weapons that you will NEVER see unless you get to a high level, go to nightmare mode, and farm for powerful weapons from the quarantine zones or the prison with the Guru time
There are zombies in the missions. The whole vnc tower mission revolves around how dangerous it is because of the zombies
Not as much as the first one
Watched this before I played the game and I didn’t believe that the ending was terrible, and after beating it just now I can confirm this ending is dogshit
Worse then bioshock infinites ending?
@@mayonnaise3959 honestly I played bioshock infinite in fifth grade I don’t remember the ending

In techlands discord they listen alot to us, like a lot of people talk about glitches and things that could be improved and they'll announce those things and communicate with the devs to make them happen. Techland is an amazing studio.
