Walt Disney's Love of Steam Trains | Disney Parks
/ disneyparks - Розваги
The fact that he loved trains and miniatures just makes me love him more
It all started with a mouse, and the mouse was created on a train...
Who would've known that railfans were amazing cartoon animators like Walt Disney himself, I'm actually proud of his love for trains much like mine and others.
Nice pfp dude
@@f-15TheFkingEagle thanks
The only reason I go to Walt Disney World is because of all the trains it has, my personally favorite are the steam engines, Roy 'O Disney #4 is my favorite one out of all of them, its amazing how these babies are still running, I mean thats the way America was buit, I am a South Florida Railfan, I railfan the Florida East Coast Railway, but I personally love Union Pacific's building America logo.. TRAINS ARE AWESOMEEE!!!! They still shining all over the world...
I’m a railfan and it’s so interesting to know that Walt Disney himself the guy that created some of my favorite classics was a train enthusiast himself
We have a similar passion I love steam locomotives such a sight to see them hurling a trail of smoke and when it sits idle the air pump like its breathing one of the most alive pieces of machinery every
I want to go to Disney World so bad now
That will be $3,000, sir.
Tickets are not 3000$
Make sure you get a fast pass
Same!
Disneyland in California is the original though.
By the way, those steam engines are glorious too! :)
I love this place and Walt’s vision!!!! May his spirit continues on!!!
I would like to say “that it all started with a train.”
May he rest in peace with the many railroad men before him. Let him ride the cannonball through the heavens. His legacy will live on in all of us brave railroad men and women. You all at Disney parks that take care of those beautiful locomotives have always brought a tear to my eye and i salute you all.
Can’t believe this video is 10 years old. I remember watching this as a kid
Tweetsie Railroad was here first, but honestly I'd probably love this just as much.
These trains at Disneyland & Disney World are my favorite railroads
Favorite engines #2 E.P. Ripley & #1 Walter E Disney
Great video! The cinematography, narration and music combine to perfectly capture the magic of the WDW RR. Sometime soon I'm going to make it back to Disney World and take that tour. Thanks for making the video Disney!
Long live railroads! Personally, I like todays railroad equipment, like the Amtrak Genesis diesel engine, but in the history of trains, we will never forget the golden ages of steam, EVER! old railroad equipment is more famous than today's equipment in my opinion.
taking this tour on the 30th of this month! Love the behind the scenes tours!
the segway tour at epcot is my favorite so far.
One of my favorite things about disney World is that they saved 4 steam locomotives from scrap and using real steam instead of a gas powered engine with a steam shell helps bring the magic to life.
I love Jim!
wow I LOVE THE STEAM TRAINS
I went on this tour about 2 years in 2011 it was awesome! Got to see the steamers up close and I got to go into the cab! Man wish I had my itouch to film that tour that day
I can't wait until the railroad reopens.
RIP walt we will all miss you
If he loves steam trains then he would be proud of the Durango & Silverton.
I LOVE TRAINS
The fact that all 4 of them are Baldwin is even more magical! (see what I did there?)
This is something that's not really known about Walt Disney. But it's pretty cool once you find out!
We were there that day this was filmed. And my daughter and I are in this video!. Well at least we'll have an official Disney record of our trip. The tour guide was not that good (talked to fast and sometimes unintelligible) but it was a great behind the scenes tour. It is a rare tour (small group) and you get in before anybody else or any other tour for the day. Stange to see Main street almost empty with only cast members.
Walt liked trains, moutians, animation and DREAMS.
Exactly the same except for the computerized signals and computerized automatic train stop, that will not let the trains go over a set speed, but when you have three trains on 2 miles of track, and multiple stops, It makes things easier, and safer.
I've always wanted to see the Disney World Roundhouse!
I love trains too!
Reason #100 why to love trains: Mickey Mouse was born on one
ADD A train to DCA...now!!
In Canada this is our state of the art trains
I would love to do the Magic Behind the Steam Trains tour here! That is wonderful thing for me to experience.
Casey Jr coming down the track.
I'm really love trains
God I love Walt Disney
I went on the Behind the Scenes Tour about a year ago, so fun!
@scotsman125 Indeed. I'd say them and the UK created the best iron horses around.
The one ride that is safe is the railroad and the steam trains
don't forget about the Disneyland railroad at Disneyland in California too
im planning to build a similar railroad to the Carolwood Pacific, and is there a photo of Lily Belle's drafts and/or plans?
Great video, music by John Williams?
Very cool!!!
I'm going this summer. I'll make it my goal to ride all 4 of them!
hmm, i dont remember writing this comment (it was probably my troll cousin) it doesnt look like a dlr train, the driving wheels seem to be farther apart then a regular dlr. thx for that. ill have to talk to my cousin now...
I wish somedays Hong Kong Disneyland Railroad would use real live-steam trains, instead of steam-outline.
It started with Walter disney's love of steam
for a 4-4-0 loco they are good power
Trains witch eventually gave the idea of the mouse, Walter Disney was in love of steam trains till his death, he even had a live steam railway in his estate
What music piece is that in the background?
It was close when I went
That's American Flyer, the music for The Iron Giant trailer.
Where is this music Orchestra from? I heard from: Iron Giant Trailer 1999 (version 2) The land before time Series film DVD 2002-2003. 0:02
What about the closing music?
I am looking for one video where Mickey is riding in the engine cab.
What song is that in the background?
How come they couldn’t make a movie of Disney railroad?
they already did it's called Chuggington... It's basically a rip off of Thomas The Tank Engine & Friends.
It’s not even a Disney property. It was acquired through a license deal with the owners of Chuggington. They have since dropped the show though, thank god, as it now is on Netflix.
Honestly if Mattel goes bankrupt and has to close it’s doors, I wouldn’t be one bit surprised if Disney acquires the rights to Thomas.
@@railfanjackson4531 well yall know chuggington and thomas are discontinued
actually it is its the lilly belle
I like trains
There's a rumor going around on Disney and railroad forums that upper management at Walt Disney World have decided to phase out the historic steam engines in favor of diesel hydraulic engines similiar to the ones at Hong Kong Disneyland. I hope this isn't true...
+trolleyjolly it's not. if that happened walt would come back from the dead just to reinstate them. They go down every year for restoration. If they ever broke the company would spend a lot of money on rebuilding them from the ground up, pretty much what's going on with the lillie bell right now.
+Altmetalpunk When I wrote this comment, there was a group of Walt Disney World RR fans who had connections "in the know" and were concerned about the future of steam. I'm glad say that, since then, both they and I were proven wrong. Steam is safe (for now)!
That rumor is always going around but it's never going to be true. The steam trains were walt's babies and there's a reason why every park that opens has ones built for them.
This is true.. there was a movement to do this. In fact it made it as far as the WDW roundhouse. When the lead engineer heard about it he immediately called Michael Broggie, the founder of the Carolwood Pacific Preservation Society, who grew up around Walt's railroad and the studio. Once Michael was told about it he immediately went to the Disney Executive who was in charge of that decision and asked about it. He was told that the paperwork to make it official and to start the process was on his desk waiting for his signature. After talking with Michael, the exec found the paperwork and replied to the request saying that it was to NEVER be brought up again and in no way would this ever be allowed to happen.
you think Walt may have met r.w. awdry some time in the past?
sorry to ruin the moment, but the train at 0:20 isn't a WDW train, its a DLR train LOL
Nope that was the Roy O Disney at Walt Disney World
Te puedes aburrir adonde Disney tren
Disney could've created thomas and friends before the reverend awdry did
sheldon cooper like this! :D
No it started with a mouse
actually, it did start with the love of trains. Walt had his train at his home and had so many people wanting rides that he figured he'd setup a park with train rides and other rides next to the studio but Burbank council said NO so he bought the land that is now Disneyland and built that park. All because he loved trains. The mouse was part of the studio and the two were tied together in the park!
YOU SHOD HAVE A DAY OUT WITH THOMAS AND THOMAS TOYS PLASES AND THANK YOU
I wouldn’t recommend going on those trains unless you want a free vacation to a park called auchwits it’s fun but no one comes out tho I heard it must be that fun
There not proper steam locos there not powered by coal
:)
