My name is Benita from Calgary Ab Canada, I had an unruptured Brain aneurysm and was very blessed to have had a very successful surgery in year 2019. Going through the journey with the support of my family, friends and the support group family here in Calgary, I am very happy and making it my life long mission to give back and spread awareness. God is great.
I'm the 1/3 fully recovered. 6 years on but I still get headaches most days due to over doing normal daily routine. I had a baby via c section 15 months after the rupture. Both consultants agreed I could have a natural birth but I didn't want added pressure on my brain as I'm told I'm high risk of another possibly in my 50s 60s. I am forever grateful to Dr Brodbelt from the Walton centre in liverpool for saving my life and I apologise for my temper in HDU I didn't realise how serious it was having never heard of aneurysm before. I offen think about back then bit like PTSD but I guess it's my biggest fear now. God bless you all
David Barban hello David . How was your recovery ? My son of 7y had one ruptured aneurysm last year ... Still don't know how it is gonna be the future even having good recoveries in some areas better then others
Hi Paula. I am now 52 years of age. My parents helped me when I was your son's age. I had to go through a lot of physical therapy. I was in a wheelchair. At the age of 19, my parents told me that I have to live on my own...and although it is hard sometimes, even at my age, I have to thank them. They both are dead, but if they hadn't pushed me in trying to "cut my meat alone" or take my bath alone, dress, even dress alone, I would have to live with someone today. And since the age of 19, I live alone with my problems.. I have friends that are my age or older. They are married, so they take care of their children, they work. It is a long process, but you and your son will see the end result. And by the way, when I was 7, I was cheating on my physical therapy exercises. Don't blame your son, just tell him to do it "the other way, the way physical therapists" have shown you and him. Good luck to both of you. Sincerely, David
David Barban hello David . He now os walking by himself without help , training to walk with the best qualitativo possible . Right Hand still hasnt showed any signs to come Back altough the arm has some activity . Main problem ia language and comprehension . Still difficult ti reach some words .Reads, has good calculation skills ... friday leaves rehab center . Main concern are language and comprehension . How Wars it for you ? My son has an aneurism in pica , left side do the brain
Paula, I was walking, if I remember well, at that age. My right hand is physically handicapped. Like your son, I can do "some things", but most of what I could do before my aneurysms, I cannot do anymore. I cut my meat, I put in my right hand what I can hold....not heavy things. I also had an operation on my wrist, but it is painful, and costs money. Whatever he can do with his right arm is good.. He needs from you and other friends of your words of encouragement. Again, physical therapy helps a lot. I am here if you want to talk. Let me know how he is progressing. And by the way, language problems are well known fact, because the left side of the brain is language and, if I am not mistaking, comprehension too.. It is a process, and he has to go through it. You have to be patient. The rehab center will surely help. Ask them any questions you might have. They are here to help. Don't be shy! Ask. Let me know if you have anymore questions, or if you need a friend to talk to. Sincerely, David

My Dad was doing training for his new work a couple hundred miles away from home, He collapsed in the street while walking to his accommodation with his work friend. When he got to the hospital he was scanned, and it was found that he had suffered a major Subarachnoid haemorrhage caused by a ruptured brain aneurysm. After about a week of intensive care, it was found that he had no hope of recovery. During that week, this video helped me understand and re-assure me that there was a chance.
Good day. I've just seen your comment and I'm not sure if you still use your account. My father is currently on day 8 after his ruptured aneurysm. They said he had vasospasm he's done 5 treatments to help with vasospasm and I get so scared reading the info online. @@christinesuccar3529 Firstly, I'm sorry to hear what you're going through, and I wish you and your family all the best. Already though, your situation seems more hopeful than mine. My father was put into a medically induced coma for the duration of his intensive care. He never displayed any signs of recovery before they turned off his life support. I think the reason I made my original comment was because every night, during my Dad's intensive care, I would struggle to sleep. I'd read over articles about brain hemorrhages again and again, realising the stakes either way. @@universe-Universe-1 Hi there. I didn’t think anyone would reply to my comment. My brother survived it all, but he struggled to recover. He was blind for a good while but after a number of surgeries and lots of meds, he has about 95% of his vision back. Able to drive, work, watch tv, play video games…you name it. His memory is back to normal, but sometimes he may ask me something he asked me 30min ago. But that’s every now and then. This happened when he was 19 or 20 years old. We were told that he has a better chance of surviving because he is young as opposed to others that are older. Im sorry that your grandmother is going through this, I wish you are you family the best.
@june, You need to see your family Dr so he/she can give you a referral to Optometrist and undergo a lots of tests. I had a Subarachnoid Hemorrhage due to raptured anuerysm 2023 of April and stayed in the ICU for almost a month. My healthcare team from my Nuerosurgeon, family Dr, Optometrist, rehabilitation, physiotherapist, psychiatrist, speech therapy and psychologist are working together. At the moment i feels better than before because of continuing physiotheraphy, speech therapy, psychology though i didn't go back to work yet.
I had a brain aneurysm rupture on 12/17/16 too!!! Rushed to the hospital, doctors found a “Basilar tip aneurysm measuring 4.2 x 3.7 x 3.2 mm with a neck measuring 2.3mm” that had ruptured. 2 other unruptured aneurysms were discovered during this angiogram. (And later a 4th, in total, aneurysm, which was overlooked at this point in time, was found). I did suffer a Vasospasm with stroke days after my surgery, but I survived that, and the rupture with only double vision for 2.5 months following, as the only issue. That did correct itself eventually. As of this date, September 25th, 2017, I have endured 5 surgeries in total to coil & stent where needed and I am happy to say I am almost as good as new. I def experience memory loss (I forget what I am saying or I can't come up with the word I want to use, and I do experience extreme fatigue by 5pm or so daily.) My last surgery was just a few weeks back to coil and stent my final remaining bulge, and I am back at work today living my life as I had prior to all of this mess. I know that further angiograms will take place to check the work done on my brain, (the next being in February 2018), as well as to monitor any further possible growth of new bulges, but for now, I am coiled and stented, and doing well.

Paula, I want to give you my mail: david.barban@gmail.com if you want tyo exchang mails. David Barban

l Had A Brain Aneurysm Rupture On 12/17/16, With My Recovery There's Issues With My Memory, Will I Gain My Memory Back...
