Meera, also look into adding capacitance in to systems with heavy loads from motors and compressors. They claim it save as much as 15% of usage. Even in three phase systems. Air conditioners and refrigeration tax the grid more than any other appliances especially in the summer. And if we can evolve fuel cell technology, we can really make a difference!

So when things became warm, I would place a cup of hot water normally used to make tea below the thermostat to trick the centralized heating/air conditioning system into thinking it was extremely hot in my sector and the computers would make what it thinks are the necessary adjustments.
