Back in 81 while in the army I was headed home for what would be the worst tragedy in my life, although at that time I didn't know what was waiting for me, and I saw Reggie Jackson standing with a beautiful woman and I approached them thinking what I was going to say. Before I even got to them they both spoke 1st and, almost in sequence said, " We thank you for your service" and offered a very friendly hand. I thanked them, and shaked hands with them both. I asked Reggie for an autograph and he gave me one.

Binging on Reggie.I started paying attention to baseball because of him when I first came to America.
As an 8 year old Dodgers fan, Reggie's 3 HRs in Game 6 of the '77 World Series was what made me hate the Yankees! But respect & admiration for that era of the NY Yankees & Jackson putting on a show will never go away. Perhaps the greatest showman & most exciting hitter of the 70's, you could not take your eyes off his at-bats. Pretty lucky to have watched the 2 premier dynasties of pro baseball play in 3 World Series in 5 years was spectacular (1977-78-81). Rich Eisen's 1st Jackson card was my very 1st Jackson card as well, the 1978 Topps set, which also included a WS highlight card & a Record Breaker card of Reggie!
