My FIRST Custom Wood Sign Commission

- Today we will be tackling my first ever custom wood sign commission! As a three dimensional chainsaw carver, this projects was entirely different for me! It was carved 100% free hand, no CNC nor routers used as I don't own either at this time. This project came with many challenges and the heat wave didn't help, but I am rather proud of the final product! This sign represents a lot to the family it was carved for and I hope they enjoy it for many years to come!
Also a shout out to the company GRAFF for allowing me to try one of their many carving products, I was pleasantly surprised with its handling and performance as well as the products reasonable price tag. Thank you GRAFF, I look forward to using this on future products! Amazon link below!

Tay
WOW !! Girl that’s an entire new level, that must of been mind bending to get your head around. Epic result, deffo worth the hours.
You really knocked it out of the park! I can't wait to see it in real life. Where is that UPS driver? 🤔 I can't thank you enough for creating this for me with such attention to detail. Working with you on this project was a pleasure; you truly go out of your way to satisfy your customers.❤ If I ever want another custom carving, I know exactly who to call.😁 Thanks again!
It was a pleasure to work with you Bill! I hope your wife enjoys her surprise! Might just have to plan a little trip to WV to see your AirBNB condo for myself! Looks like delivery will be on the 15th, so close! Have a wonderful weekend!
@@TayMarie23 You'll always be welcome! 😁
Tay is the best! Wish I lived closer to place some orders! 👍👍👍
I have to say that you amazed me with the life sized bear but now I'm totally amazed great job i wouldn't have believed it if I had not watched you do it
Sooogood! You really made it come to life. And that's your first sign done like that? You are so talented. You have inspired me to start chainsaw carving. Nothing I have done looks very good yet but I'm getting better slowly. You make it look so easy. You definitely have been blessed with a gift. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Good morning 🌅, great project, that looked very good, I have done some hand carving years ago old school, 2/4 mallet and hundreds of chisels last time I counted, 😂 keep up the great work, stay safe, great to see you’re wearing safety equipment, France.
So happy you carve, its such a great hobby! And yes, I'm big on safety!
You are absolutely amazing.
Sweet ❤❤
Nice job! I’m curious how many hours this took you?
I never count haha! But if you also count the hours searching for a large kiln dried slab, the 2 hours driving to get it once I found one, the planning, carving, sanding, more sanding lol, paint and 3 seal coats...maybe like 70-80 hours?
Girl I still say you do amazing work
Excellent work, you definitely have an artist mind,,
You should sign your work
Great video, you are definitely a talented young lady. Keep doing what you love.
TayMarie, you truly knocked it out of the park. As a diehard woodworker and now a CNC’r, there is something to be said about your craftsmanship. Truly exceptional, and loved watching it. I wouldn’t mind loooong videos of time lapsed segments of your work. There is something to be said about wood taking a new life form either by machine or hand carved. BTW… what type of projector did you use in the beginning? I’m thinking of painting a mural of of the tropics inside my pool area fencing and I’m the worst drawer in the world. Thanks and keep up the great work.
This i mean, is really true Science and a lot of patience. That looks so mega nice. Like you and love your Work. 😉
Summer is my favorite season, but ngl, I already miss the snow! BTW, that looks just like the picture they provided. 😁👍👏👏👏
One of the most difficult things when carving relief with a Dremel is the gradual and eventual change of grain in the round(as displayed here when doing the rim) the tendency of skipping or jumping with the grain change perpendicular to the rotary cutter requires discipline and the right amount of pressure to prevent the work from being ruined! Great Job Tay! free handing relief grain is very difficult especially when humans are not CNC machines with little to no deviation! Great Job on the commission!
Tay it turned out amazing. Take care and have a blessed and safe weekend
Awesome. Just awesome. And I’m glad that pine beetle didn’t get a chunk of you - those things have jaws like pliers!
Great Job,That turned out Amazing !
You knocked this out of the park. You are so talented and not afraid to just jump in and go for it. From chainsaw, to dremels, to detail sanding and the final painting, what a beautiful one of a kind sign. Never stop doing this. Love your work.
Tay what can one say but MASTERFULLY done! Intensive, decorative, colorful, beautiful, outstanding, you name it! You done did it the right way.
OMG!! What tedious detailing. But absolutely brilliant results!! You ROCk!!
I have trouble comprehending your excellent artistic ability I could never do this very nice video
OMG, just stumbled upon your video. What an amazing talent. Incredible!! Video was very well done too. Blown away. Thank you for sharing
That turned out beautiful!🤩 I always learn so much watching your videos. Thank you for sharing your processes, and all the information you do.✨💖✨
I'm working on an end grain relief piece, and you aren't kidding about how tedious it is! 😅 I thought I'd be done by now, but no. Lol.
I think you are amazing. My wife and I have started watching you . I was wondering if you could make a bull out of a log. Keep up the good work.
Tay...You are super talented..You never fail to amaze me with your projects...Well done indeed!
Tay, I do believe this just might be my favorite video! Great job! Might you be willing to share about how many hours you do have in on this project? Again, amazing video and amazing talent!!
Hello, its as always a fantastic Realization of the work. I don't have enough Imagination to work out the 3D objects like that. So, thank You for the Video. 😍
First of all I really love your work. It is absolutely brilliant! Have you ever tried using any of the Manpa carvers?
Congratulations on your first custom wood sign commission! Your creativity and craftsmanship shine through your work, showcasing your talent and dedication. Your ability to bring ideas to life with precision and passion is truly admirable. You inspire others with your artistic vision and skill. And I am Floating Village Life
Absolutely beautiful. You have a God given gift. Wonderful.
Beautiful work I imagine the sanding was the most time consuming part of the project.
I chose you because you are a chainsaw carver. Actually from what I have seen on UA-cam, you are the best carver and if I'm going to spend a lot of money I'd rather give it to you!
i felt your pain getting that slap of wood off Tay! 🤣slither of wood always stronger than what you think! top notch sign! quality work as always Tay!
Awsome work TayMarie. Just Better and Better enjoying your progression as an artist.
Your client was obviously pleased as well he should have been! Beautiful.
That is just awesome. A fantastic job, it’s hard to believe it’s all wood.
Great job.
I dabble a little bit as a hobby so I can appreciate the work involved in that piece, so much detailing love it.
p.s whats the bit you use on the die grinder? i usually use a flame bit burr, but the one you used would help in some projects i do
All I can say, is "Wow!" Amazing talent! Inspiring!
Such a beautiful sign. Absolut amazing
That came out great. Lots of color and detail. Good work!

Just found you and boy am I glad I did this is stunning! 😍
With all my heart, I hope, that you make more money, than some of those pigeon-brained girls bloggers, talking crap on UA-cam. Please, be proud of yourself, you are the real superstar.
If I was in this for money I would be looking for a career change and youtude doesn't exactly pay well unless you are a huge channel 🤣 I do this all because I enjoy it and I enjoy sharing it with you all! In my opinion, art is made to be shared!
What a beautiful job you did on that sign!
Turned out beautiful.
Phenomenal Work! You are a true artist.
Another great video taylor! You have natural ability! And obviously some woodworking experience!
Just some questions for you. Do you have an inventory carved up or do you do commission only?
Awesome 👍 fantastic work.
More great work Tay! Awesome job! Great video, really enjoyed. Thank you! Awesome ending with Nami! Always wonder if you have a leftover scalpel in your toolkit! Thumbs up everyone! 👍👍👍
Hahaha we have several sterile scalpels 😂 The things you collect or bring home by accident in your many scrub pockets while working in medicine is crazy!
I know they'll be amazed at the details of everything and how you made their sign come to life! That was such a long list of small details in that thing. Chainsaw work...5mins. Detail work..idk how many hrs. Very well done Tay! As always. And grit might have been the word you were looking for about the discs. LoL.
Hahaha yes...grit 🤣 As a severe dyslexic words are a bit hard! I try my bestest lol! Thank you for the kind words 💛
Great work & videos! I am a retired "Sign Guy" and really respect people who can work in 3D carving, not sure I can, maybe I should try now I have the time?
Never hurts to try 😁
I been Missing You on UA-cam…. Hope you are doing Well! Can’t wait to see your new videos. Thanks
I have so many videos ready to go once things slow down and I have time to edit! Thank you for all the support, I'll be back as soon as I'm able to 💛

Wow! Awesome ❤️
amazing. where do you sell your inventory?
I do almost exclusively commission work :)
What an amazing surprise today! Thank you so much for working so diligently to bring our vision to life! I had no idea my husband had contacted you, but I am so happy he did.
This is exceptional in every detail, and we can't wait to share it with everyone we know. A mere "Thank You" just doesn't seem adequate, but you do have our deepest gratitude for your hard work. We very much appreciate it!
It was my pleasure to work with your family! I'm so happy I was able to get the video out in time for your surprise, and the sign came early too, it all worked out perfectly! I hope you enjoy your piece for many years to come 💛
Awesome job 👍
Very very nice
Beautiful!!!
Very clever idea with the outside circle. Cutting a circle is difficult and your solution works on so many levels. Good job, jobbed! What the heck is 93 by the way... we do Celsius!
Thank you! Hahaha Google says 93 is 33.9 C!
@@TayMarie23 Wow that is hot. In Cornwall our average temperature is between 64 and 68 F or 18-20 C. Once again I thank you for entertaining us.
Fantastic……
Very nice!!
Tay, first off it's so cute how you pulled back at the start to be able to put a picture of the sign in later as you did...
And it's always cute how you cover the lens with your hand when your going to another part of your build...
And then this sign is just a work of art...
My God Tay... what you have done is just amazing... totally amazing...
And lastly...once again I have to say that your beautiful and your smile is too die for...
Awesome 😎...best Tay...😊
Glad you enjoyed the video! This one was fun 😊
@@TayMarie23 you are just so totally awesome 😎👍...that sign was so cool 😎...and I still love your grizzly bear head... that's amazing and magnificent...
You keep doin' what your doin' girl...best...!!!!
Great work!
nice job
Hi TayMarie. Haven't seen you on here in a while. I hope you are doing well. I miss watching you carve. Hope to see more soon.
Hopefully things start slowing down in October or November! Lots of footage read to edit!
@@TayMarie23 have a great day and don't overdo it. I look forward to seeing more carvings.
Very nice
Top Notch
Fantastic
❤❤❤
Superb!
What an awesome sign. You have some serious skill
Thank you 🙌🏼💛
Wow.😊
I fucking love your videos
Hehe thank you 💛💛💛
it's really a beautiful thing👏
Thank you ❤️
That is great. Your painting is amazing. Small isn’t always easier.
In most cases...it's harder and much more time consuming! Saws remove wood much faster than hand tools! Was a good challenge!
@@TayMarie23
I’m trying to minimize your hedwig. 7 inches It’s a slow go.
l have been using a dermal for wood caving for 25 years,,, they are solid as a bullet,,,, very nice seeing you doing smaller detail projects,,,,,,
Bravo young lady.
