Drogers867 Hard to a imagine what your thought pattern is if you don't think Greg Koch is a top player. I thought the remark he's never stretched is very well observed.
Just saw him last night in NYC. Incredible playing and couldn’t have been a nicer guy afterwards having a quick chat. What a super guitarist and great guy!
That was probably THE BEST GUITAR UA-cam VIDEO I HAVE EVER SEEN! Just amazing. Thank you for blowing my mind. I know it was initially a sales pitch but Greg's talent and knowledge just made me smile and stay glued to this bliss of sound and history lesson. Wow, well done!!!
Watching and hearing Greg is such a pleasure -so talented and with a love of the subtleties of the instrument that set him apart from the herd. Amazing pick-ups - amazing player.
Greg Koch is a master and always very funny with it. He released a tutorial vid about 20 years ago that was all about finding dissonant lead sounds on the guitar. Very cool.
Just installed a set of these in my Sire Vintage S7....I modified the wring so I have a master volume, master tone/voice switch, then a blend pot....sounds amazing...I'm loving blending the neck into position 2 at 1 for some neat tones.
If I were there I would not have been able not to go up there and switch places of those guitars. Holy shit I would have gone into full Rainman mode otherwise.
Ever seen Harry and the Hendersons? Greg reminds me so much of the dad from that movie, and the bigfoot... as one. lol Love to watch and listen to Greg. Top 5 favorite guitarist for sure.
Traditionalism is pointless. Leo Fender was a great inventor and engineer. He was always messing with pickups and perfecting them. From classic strat and tele pickups to G&L's MFD style ones. Leo was never a traditionalist and I'm pretty sure he would be proud to have this kind of advanced tech put in his guitars.
I have an '82 reissued strat that I want to put these in. I think I've watched every video of Greg demonstrating these pickups and I'm trying to get on board so I'll have the best sounding stratocaster in NH. Maybe, just maybe, I'd fall in love with the guitar again for the first time.
Let's get something straight. Mr Koch makes those pickups sound awesome. Not the other way around. Oh they are probably nice pickups, but I've been in the same room as Greg a couple of times and he can make a Sears craftsman guitar sound so good you will rush home to burn your collection. Smart move on Fishman's part to hire such a monster.
This is a great lesson video- Guitarists the world over should all pay a tax; the total sum of which is to go to the salary of dedicated camera guy who will take this exact angle- every time Greg plays and isn't recorded like this, a crime against humanity has occurred!!.
It was Greg's demo of a Bogner Ecstasy Classic that convinced me to buy that amp 10 years ago. I wonder how these pups will compare to the Kinman Scoops that I'm currently enjoying. We'll see..
Greg will make any guitar with any pick up sound great because he just knows how to apply the right touch to whatever his ear hears, and make it work.....i never heard of these pick ups....if he says there good there good.
I actually think the Dimarzio Area pickups sound better than the Fishman strat pickups. The Areas are the best noiseless I have found, and I have tried many many many.
Wow. I want my strat back! Shut up and take my money! Love all the Hendrix band of gypsies stuff. The mid pickup sounds awesome, its one i never used alone it was ether 2 and 3 or 3 and 4 and ,never alone. wow. Is there a second half of him demoing the hum buckers?
Vrtuoso playin aside, I ve really made some cheapish but good choices gearwise for my budget, cause i get similar tones with little money; Peavey Bandit 112 Transtube very unforgiving but clear with lots of headroom( i soften it up with Zoom G2 and cheap overdrives and fatten my strat copy Yam Pac 112vtone with SD Pickup Booster, and to lessen the 60cycle hum I use the EHX Hum Debugger! a wonderful pedal for that, also adds a little chorus/flanger type feel to the tone which i welcome, and with my zoom and Behr V-tone GDI21 heavy solo sounds truly silences extra noise thou the Zoom has a good Noise Reduct itself in my opinion...SO THERE...besides I still hear the tone of these pickups thin to my taste, in fact i havent even changed any pickup in my three Yam Pacs, theyre very well balanced too with no Fendery staggering...Cheerio Evrybody! : )
ive been watching the noiseless single coil space for years now I saw Greg recently demo some of the 2016 fender noiseless pickups at a fender roadshow, I think these fishmen' are way more convincing. Its hard to hear unless you compare really, but on the night he demo'd the fenders with their latest noiseless, and later played a new Hendrix strat, and the real single coils in that really sounded fantastic, and noticeable better then the guitars with noiseless. but these seem pretty decent from what you can take from a youtube vid. so did fishmen finally get it right? my wallet and balls hurt just pondering
He is not talking about electricity, he is talking frequency response. Single coils have a 60 hertz problem due in part to their narrow frequency response r@nge. Think of it as knife edge as compared to the wider edge of a humbucking picking up.
I truly admire GK playing, of the “current” players he is in my top 5 easily, the guy can play anything he is an acrobat in guitar and one of the most tasty players around... but by this time I’ve seen plenty of his fishman sets demoed by him and soundwise I don’t hear anything special about this pups
Noiseless pic ups are like throwing a blanket over your speaker cab....they always sound muffled in comparison to a standard single coil...& it wouldn't matter who makes them...
I don't know if it's my ears or what, but the Strat set seems a little overly bright to me. Just on the verge of harsh. So I'm watching different demos to see what my ears think on each one because I have a Strat that needs a set of something. These? I don't know yet.
IPushHard It IS your ears....sorry they’re so fucked up. Sorry Push, just fuckin with ya - just goes to show how tone is so subjective - to me they sound absolutely fabulous!
Hmmm, in this demo the Strat is sounding much better. There is some fatness to it. OK, sounds good. : ) The demo that sounded way too bright was Pitbull Audio. ...I think he used a Vox in that one.
That's the tone! He says that that's a deluxe reverb he is playing through but it obviously isn't. It must be a blues deluxe. I always thought they were kind of crap! But if they sound like this I'm getting one!
Sontalented that it take me a couple of minutes to realise that the guy who orgnize guitar in the fender booth did a horrible job A Stratocaster on a Telecaster display and vice versa .........
The beret is cute, I'm still waiting fo the blues this egomaniac said he would play! The pickups are sterile and this playing induces stress. How about music with some soul, this guy has none.
Greg Koch is so talented you get the feeling he's never stretched in any style and genre. A real top player.
Quo Tanzient you're the moron Q. Actually, your more of an A-hole really.
Drogers867 Hard to a imagine what your thought pattern is if you don't think Greg Koch is a top player. I thought the remark he's never stretched is very well observed.
Andrew Butcher I agree with you, he's a top notch player. I was responding to the other guy brother
Drogers8675 yes I realised that, I was trying to support you without being abusive to him! I would love to see him live.
I wanna see him do metal for fun lol
Just saw him last night in NYC. Incredible playing and couldn’t have been a nicer guy afterwards having a quick chat. What a super guitarist and great guy!
I can't imagine being good at every style. Greg is not human.
I'm not buying the pickups but I'm going to keep listening to Greg Koch every chance I get!
RockDrillSuite he has dvds u could’ve bought idk 15 yrs ago.
Watching and hearing Greg is such a pleasure -so talented and with a love of the subtleties of the instrument that set him apart from the herd. Amazing pick-ups - amazing player.
Without a doubt, Greg is one of the best players out there today! There's not too many players that can keep up with him.
I was so proud of myself for learning 3 new jazz cords then I watched this video. I have a long way to go! 😂😭
Greg Koch is a master and always very funny with it. He released a tutorial vid about 20 years ago that was all about finding dissonant lead sounds on the guitar. Very cool.
John he’s been around forever with dvds before utube was even around. Doesn’t need to spread out his genre to the post way up top.
Just installed a set of these in my Sire Vintage S7....I modified the wring so I have a master volume, master tone/voice switch, then a blend pot....sounds amazing...I'm loving blending the neck into position 2 at 1 for some neat tones.
Great way to wire the guitar! I love the blender option. And with these pickups and the boost button must sound great!
The SRV stuff in the middle position sounded amazing.
CaptainFantastik1 As did just about the entire Layla album in the 2-position.
greg is the guy playing guitar in the guitar store mastered 1000 times
Greg played this piece just a bit different than I would have.
I know this video is old, but this has definitely sold me on a set for my tele!
I can listen to Greg play all day! So much soul and science in his playing. 🎸🎶
What a talented human being.
Killer playin;! Greg Koch, my favorite UA-cam guitar player and one of my favorites all around.
My OCD got the better of me lmao. There's a Strat hanging on the Tele display and a Tele on the Strat display.
Thanks a pantload !!! Now I can't UNsee it !!!!
@@markrodgers2976 oh, this whole ships going down w/ me ;)
Good catch!
Andrew Villarreal damn I saw that too...

top guy top guitarist

I think he could make anything sound good with those chops
When will we get a mini humbucker version of these Fluence pickups in a classic and a modern.
Damn you, Greg! You melt my brain every time hahaha !!! :D
Simply great !
in one video , Greg sums up everything you need to know about Strat pickups and tone .
100% agree !
Greg Koch playing Sultans of swing. Now that was cool
Can't believe this was right in my backyard and I missed it... dang it!
these pickups are amazing. but its funny that the store has the strat on the tele graphic and the tele on the strat one.
Well spotted man!
I have an '82 reissued strat that I want to put these in. I think I've watched every video of Greg demonstrating these pickups and I'm trying to get on board so I'll have the best sounding stratocaster in NH. Maybe, just maybe, I'd fall in love with the guitar again for the first time.
Wow, "best sounding stratocaster in NH". Maybe ten people will give a shit?

And Fender told him to f* off.
Just nonchalantly strumming Sultans, then breaks into Lay Down Sally, then back to Sultans........ 19:50
Super guitarist and person ❤
Wow, he's just jamming, and it's super impressive. That volume trick was dope.

Lovely sound guitar player incredible

Greg rules soooo much!
8:24 really appreciated the Freedom Jazz Dance quote.
is the push button switch in the Tele controls, proprietary or can I purchase one somewhere ? Just the push button on-off switch. Thanks.
I actually think the Dimarzio Area pickups sound better than the Fishman strat pickups. The Areas are the best noiseless I have found, and I have tried many many many.
I had to pause to make sure the cops weren't after me

3:15 our ol' european juicy current supply is 50Hz, Greg ;-)
It varies. It isn't a constant. But you are correct.
well they sound great when he plays them
A beast
So the "Strat" is really a "Tele" and vice-versus? (See Posters on the Wall) haha

"Just".
8 people think their pick ups are better ... this guy could play circles around most "guitar players" using a fucking rubber band .
Amazing..👍👍👍👏
European electricity is NOT 60 htz. Unlike the US, Europe uses 50 htz. instead of 60 htz.
Nice sounding puckup.
He is not talking about electricity, he is talking frequency response. Single coils have a 60 hertz problem due in part to their narrow frequency response r@nge. Think of it as knife edge as compared to the wider edge of a humbucking picking up.
How do you go about buying the pickups and and the charging unit? Does Wildwood sell them?
18:25-19:06 strat+fender HRD amp OH YEAH!
What's the name of these pickups? Kinman what?
Robert Glen Fishman Fluence.
Who is this guy? an amp maker or guitarist? he's really good
Although he is Koch amplifiers endorser he claims he has nothing to do with the owners nor the people who started the company other than surname.
Who’s he talking to? Swing the camera around once or twice. I’m in the dark here!
The real question is. WHAT AMP IS HE PLAYING THROUGH??!?!?!?!?!?. It's beautiful I am in love, is it a fender?
He's telling at 4:05 that he is using a Fender Deluxe Reverb.
