I'm loving your videos. I drove through past those huts a few years ago, looking for a way out, and all I did was came to a locked gate... had to turn around and backtrack! It'd be interesting to see where you went? I did the Omarama to St Bathans about three weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's hard case seeing a snorkel on a car, I've never seen that before. A question I have is, what camera do you use in your car, pointing out the window and how have you got it mounted? I'm getting a reference off the sky etc, and it seems so steady. keep up the vids, thanks.
Thanks man! There's a few intersections and different ways to go from the hut. So will go back and explore there again. They don't make snorkels for them so had to modify that one to go on. Needed it though for some of the places I took the poor Subi. And for camera, I use a GoPro, that ones a Hero 9 I think. But they just have the best stabilisation I've found.
We loved watching this, stunning area... Lol had to have a laugh at the comment made about heater not working that well. Thanks for another great video
It was really tight, and loose ay. Would have put a camera out for it. But got to the point where I was committed and wasn't stopping. Subi handled it really well though
Funny, I went through the Walking Spot track on the 7th of January and I also had a frosty night. Both times I've camped in the area I had frost and it was cold.
Great video! I love seeing how capable the Subaru Outback is. What modifications have you done to it? I I’m in the USA and I have a 2022 Subaru Outback with 8,000 miles on it. I’ve really enjoyed driving it on dirt and gravel roads nearby, but I’d like to take it further off the beaten path in the near future. I’m thinking I’ll get some underbody skid plates first, then get some BFG trail terrain tires when the stock tires wear down.
Thanks, it always surprises me where it will go. I've got a custom bash guard and bumper chop. It's got a 35mm and Bridgestone all terrains. Sounds like what you've got planned will be a great setup!
@@SwampChook it’s my daily driver so I don’t want to change much. In a few years I’ll probably get a proper 4x4 truck or SUV, but for weekend exploring the Subaru is really good! Any tips on driving the Outback on those types on tracks?

@@SwampChook Thanks for that, they must’ve improved a lot since my Hero 3?
Keep up the good vids.

Thanks😁 glad you enjoyed. I had heaps of fun making it. It's such an amazing place there too.
The corner at 14:13 put the fear up me coming down in the Land cruiser.

Awesome views. Bet she's cold up there at the moment!
Wow it would be epic in the snow, probably be pretty dodgy tho
Sick spot sam!
Cheers, gotta be one of my favourite places now
Awesome stuff! i Think macetown's pretty cool just out of arrowtown heaps of river crossings and remoteness
@@TikitourOverland I've been there about 8 years ago. Was supposed to go this trip but ran out of time.
Mint! I'll hopefully be filming there in a few weeks got some time off study. hopefully I won't drown chasing after camera's lol

main question is - What brand tyres are you using?
Bridgestone Duller AT's. I find them pretty good and robust
Did you go check out Falls dam and Fiddler's Flat conservation area? Fiddler's has got some wicked wild camping spots.
No I didn't make it there. Sounds cool, I'll have to check it out on the next trip.
@@SwampChook would also recommend the Omarama Saddle track next time

Scree!
Ahhh thanks😁
we did this decent yesterday and was wondering would you do this trip again in a Subaru or even that track because it was pretty scary
It's a great place. And yeah I'd do it again in the Subi, but it is pretty hard on the brakes. A dual range manual swap would make it better.
Spelling, spelling ! Descent is how it's spelt - not decent because that has a completely different meaning.
Oooh crikey, I hadn't picked up on that. Will have to fix it, thanks.
