I'm Thomas and I do videos and reviews on mechanical keyboards ranging from the most sickening modern RGB gaming keyboards to vintage hardware relics, or sometimes keycaps or keyswitches ranging from Cherry MX to Alps SKCM to IBM buckling springs and anything in between.

Thanks for the unboxing, can't wait to see the review!
I know how much Thomas appreciates that the keyboard settings are all accessed on the board himself. I've seen him tangle with enough computer apps in past reviews to know that he hates them like the damned hate lakes of eternal hellfire.
"on the keyboard himself" 🤔
@@Pet_Hedgehog It's a typo. Get over it.
@@Saanichian thats not what a typo looks like
@@Pet_Hedgehog Dude, I pecked this out on a tiny phone keyboard that has autocorrect. That might not have been what a typo looked like back when typing was mostly done on typewriters, which seems to be your frame of reference.
My suggestion is to get over it and move on.
Edit: Decided to take out the nasty bit.
@@Pet_Hedgehog oh shut up
Once again, a new masterpiece by the legend himself
Thanks for the unboxing and looking forward to your first ever review of a hall effect keyboard*
*Competition in the mechanical keyboard market is even more vicious than we all thought. Drunkdeer first invented a time machine then altered history by eliminating their "diverse non-mechanical switch" competitors. "Time is now" is probably an ironic joke mocking the temporally vanquished.
Mr Thomas likes his tipple more than his keyboard. His first thought was he'd lost the booze, not about how it would have spilled over his new keyboard 😄😄
I'm trying to imagine the existential crisis that would ensue if Thomas spilled his favourite drink into his favourite keyboard.... 'WANING!! This video contains bad swaers and images of a Man in Turmoil'...
Me: "Just going to my study to check out the new hall effect keyboard I bought."
Other Half: "Drunk Deer"?
Me: "No darling, I havent touched a drop all week....."
wow, it sounds insanely good and smooth, can't wait for the review
That motif on the box really reminds me of Gran Turismo
Also, that is mega pingy
Hope to see more of this soon!
Great to see you Tom. I've gotten several Hall Effect keyboards, I like them a lot.
Sounds very nice and no crappy software 👍🏻 Looking forward for the review. Thanks for sharing 👍🏼
wow at this point somones going to name their keyboard: " connection terminated "
Drinking something with the spoon still in it would bother me to no end, personally :P
So, it's my birthday, I am drinking, and so is Thomas! And then he uploads a video! Best birthday ever!
Thank you Sir! o7
>Leaving spoon in the cup while drinking
Absolutely barbaric and uncouth
Nice video! Can’t wait to receive mine! Be carful to not spill your drink everywhere when unboxing package… ! 😂
This video came out the same day I received mine. It's my first experience with magnetic switches. I am going to mod mine, even if it says not to do it, because I like to live dangerously. I also like more muted plastic keyboard sounds and the pinging in this one is too much.
The program is cool, because you can make profiles where you individually set the actuation for each key. I set one up for FPS, so just the keys I need are quick, whereas CAPSLOCK and other annoying keys I mistype take much more to actuate.
Given how they trumped up on the box; was hoping it would one of those very rare magnetic snappy keyboards like the one AT&T keyboard reviewed here years ago. I like hall effects, but bit of a bummer if it's just another linear hall effect.
That AT&T was capacitivie IIRC.
matt3o reviewed this keyboard... Seems the switches are great but the keyboard crap.
@@sir0herrbatka yeah i know, based on a foil and foam type, but it's tactile action was done via magnets.
Honestly hope it's good and the case is easily swappable. Wooting has taken their sweet time making a larger format keyboard and I've been curious about hall effect switches but I refuse to use anything smaller than 75%. Wooting's offer was fairly easily swappable in a nicer aluminum case and you can provide your own keycaps because the stems are MX compatible... Hopefully this gets to the same level of quality without dealing with the hypetrain sheeps.
When I saw 'magnetic switch' I thought "Oh, is this a modern take on AT&T Magsep? A new take on the Void switches? Kind of dissappointed it's just a linear hall effect switch.
If there is one key takeaway I've learned from that keyboard though, it is that Time Is Now
that looks EXACTLY like my cherry mx board. My board is a gmk67(its the best buget board for my style keyswitces) and it has jwick t1s(the cheapest decent tactiles in the market). Jwick t1s are a bit more tacitle, but slightly more raspy than the alps skcm orange(I have a board with orange, a m0116) and they are pre-lubed for like 23 cents a switch! Thats cheap for how smooth and actually pretty good they are.
Shame they don't also make a TKL and that it's windows only, I've been hunting around for a possible new KB. Guess the Monsgeek M3 is still the only member of that short list.
The Realforce RGB also has key combinations for adjusting the actuation distance, though it only has three different settings by default
don't mention the overpriced rubberdome keyboard
ooh, i saw matt3o review one of these and i actually really want to try one. also, drunkdeer may be my favourite keyboard company name yet
I'd be interested to know if there's key actuation hysteresis on this board.
looks really good, the mac keycaps by default are a bit shite but the keyboard itself looks well put together and knobs always make me happy, if this had a numpad it'd be close to perfect to me
It's called drunk deer because?????? Was waiting for the answer to this question the whole video.
Haha not a clue! XD
@@Chyrosran22 well, the stag seemed a bit groggy today, too 🤣
Can u do a keychron mod video, for example, k4 pro with gaffer tape on the PCB, o ring mount on the screws etc (I say this specific example because I already did it)
Drinking makes everything better, even your mellow voice :D
hellow nice vid. will order mine today ^^ what is the polling rate of this pricy toy ? :)
New razer blackwidow v4 pro
Isn't that insulation bubble wrap? Like what people tape to their garage doors to insulate their garage?
Looks Like A Knockoff Keychron V1/Q1 Pro Or Some Shite
Looks nice but you could hear the ping...
Is this like a more affordable wooting 2he but 75%? I wish I had seen this before I ordered the wooting.
I think what is interesting about this is, that it has the magnet on the front of the slider and so has a normal pole and maybe doesn't sound as shitty as the lekker switches. On the other hand is the fact that you need to use their pcb and that it's non standard so you have to stick with their shitty hollow plastic case.
I added lead tyre weights to the bottom of the case (600g worth of them) and it feels much better
No review yet? :(
3:19 if this isnt a hint for a need to define what a mechanical keyboard is, then idk what will be
I did a whole video essay about that topic already xD .
Is it programmable? QMK compatible?
Qmk doesnt even support hall effect switches... they have their own software
too bad their keyboard driver is for windows only.
Some Realforce R2 and R3 have this feature of changing actuation point on the fly.
yoooooo
surely its not 500€
Its actually ~120usd
NOT suitable for Linux? What a shame!!
Mac users in 2023? Revolting. Don't @ me. 🖕

Was considering getting this board, then I discovered it was a Chinese company. Goddammit
Sound good. It will be interesting to know the 🧲 type is referred. But sound very good. Appears to be digital?
hi thomas, the audio is quit low. try and put a dbx 286s in between your mic and audio interface.
it's about 180eu, and would help you a lot
Thanks for the advice; I decrease audio by 8 dB and bass by another 2 on top of that so I do have some wiggle room :) .
@@Chyrosran22 and btw i can understand the bass settings... our own dutch barry white.
@@Chyrosran22 i think the problem is not the settings on your audio interface, but more the distance relative of you and between the mic. and such a device helps to keep your vocal loudness level after the mic to a certain level before it goes in the interface
