      Aye! I'm 22 and have and wear every day a 1969 longines automatic, stainless pillow case with day/date and a double action dial. That watch would have surpassed the retail price of its rolex oyster propetual by about 300$. And in those days 300 could have gotten you a brand new 302 ford motor to put in your car.

    The Longines 1832 moonphase is a stunning watch. My girlfriend bought one for me last year. I love her so much. Sharp lines and classic cream dial. Calendar and moonphase add a sense of class and refinement. The lug angles and size speak to my OCD. Yeah, VHP are very cool, low key was hoping to see one on the list.
      My only gripe with them is water resistance. Not that I see any of those as my next beater, but for a grand I'd like to see at least 10 bar. Just for peace of mind in the long run.

      I surprised myself by buying the VHP GMT with the blue dial and black PVD ces and bracelet. It is just so wonderfully accurate and the GMT function is the best I have experienced and the dial is just an I crédible ever changing colour from Smokey blue black through purple velvet to brilliant blue depending on the type of light source. If you absolutely must have to the second accuracy with I believe 5 seconds variance a year then the VHP range is the best choice.

    Really enjoy your channel. Great job! As a modest watch collector of both new and vintage I am considering the Longines conquest non diver version in 41mm.
    BTW, you did an episode on small watches. Have to say that I have become a huge fan of small watches. Even with a wrist of 71/2 inches I enjoy my 38mm Breitling and my 1952 Tissot (belonged to my grandfather) gold capped 34.5mm. Going from my 41mm Omega sea master to the Tissot is actually liberating.
    Lastly, I fell in love with a watch no one has probably ever heard of. Bought it new super cheap and is amazing. Called BSwiss( by Bucherer) Prestige Moon Phase. I actually own a Bucherer dive watch my grandparents bought for me in 1972! Still looks great. Live Bucherer. But the level of quality on this particular BSwiss is truly wayyyy undervalued. It does have a Sw200 with Dubois Depraz module. But keeps excellent time.
    Thank you again for producing an excellent channel for fellow watch enthusiasts. Keep it up.

    • @kennethlight6740
      @kennethlight6740 2 роки тому

      The watch has been great! Yes it has applied indices. No lume. I actually like the No lume. Most of my other watches have it, and quite honestly I have never needed it. But my feeling is that a watch without lume will age better. I’m not a fan of patina on the lume. The 43mm is big. It wears bigger than 43mm. I have large wrists (73/4). But then again, I have been moving back to smaller watches. I think the most impressive part of the conquest is the movement. It’s a heavily modified ETA 2892. But it’s made specifically for Longines. I think it’s as good or better than the 2892’s used in higher end watches(Like IWC as one example). And for the price I believe Longines is an incredible value.

    Owned a number of Swiss watches in the 1-2k GBP price range. Picked up the new longines hydroconquest chrono with the ceramic bezel and it's arguably the best I've owned. Build like an absolute tank with perfect finishing and the best anti reflective coating in the business. The crystal is just invisible. My first longines and definitely not my last.

    Sorry for the late response, but lately I've been jonesing a Longines Conquest VHP (white dial). It's a Very High Performance quartz, with accuracy at +/- FIVE SECONDS PER YEAR! Oh, and it's just a gorgeous looking watch too. Lastly, I want to thank you for turning me onto Tik Tok watch repair! They repaired my Oris Aquis Titan beautifully - and even sent me a photo while it was completely disassembled... Egads! It's better than ever though now, so... THANK YOU!

    I've had my eye on the Master Collection Moonphase Chronograph (L2.673.4.78.6) for a while now. It's vintagesque, but not based on any particular old model. It's kind of maximalist, with a really busy dial and lots of complications for a decent price. It's based on the Valjoux 7751, so has that generic Valjoux dial layout, though the Longines version even has a column wheel. It's been around for a while, but doesn't get a lot of attention. I've looked at other Longines, but I keep coming back to this one. I'll probably own it some day.

    I've actually been eyeing the Longines Master Collection Moonphase. But I'm stuck on getting the silver dial or the blue sunburst or even the souped-up chronograph calendar version. I just adore the classy design.

      They got a new accutron powered by static electricity that you need to charge up by waving your arm around because it won't handwind.

    Longines has been hitting it out of the park lately. The new Longines Heritage Classic Tuxedo is a real stunner, even with its dreaded faux patina. I can't wait to see it at gray market prices.

    I hope this takes a little longer, the first luxury watch I ever looked at buying was back in Archies prime; it was a vintage gold Longines for remarkably cheap. ever since seeing that watch I’ve always wanted one
