Fun fact, 358 is the only KH that was COMPLETELY written by Nomura, word per word. We'll never have anything like that anymore because he said it was too much work, but it is such a fresh breath of air to have the script being tightly written.
I really liked re:coded for its stat matrix. I really enjoyed being able to mess with the difficulty at any point, increase item drop rate in exchange for less max hp, being able to reduce you and every enemy to 1 HP.
Yeah and I really enjoyed 358 because of the equipment system it was fascinating to me. The first game that really played with the key blades not being static with their stats
Plus the command attacks are usually way more practical to use than in BBS and the fact that they can be repeatedly melded and leveled up till its level gets sky high is.. well admittedly it’s excessive, but cool in its own way, and encourages players to pick a favorite. (My favorite, by the way, is Flame Fall, its animation is so cool)

When it came to the Final Mix, I was so disappointed that they didn’t give us the full remake of 358/2 Days instead they gave us a fricking HD Movie. 358/2 Days was by far one of my favorites in the franchise since this game was released during my highschool years back in the 2010’s and good lord did it bring me out of a massive art block with it’s main story an even more lore on certain characters!
the thing that kinda threw me off about the project is that in the video or the description he claimed he'd be able to complete the project in less than a year... alone.....best of luck and that would be awesome, but that kinda convinced me he's really underestimating it

I hope they'll make the keyblades and stuff more accessible. That canonicity list was made with a LOT of tears. Also, Xion wielding the same keyblade as you and recolors to yours in the Xion missions would be amazing(Xion wielding the purple version of Missing Ache while Roxas has MA, for example). I headcanon Roxas used Oathkeeper against Sïax and Xion used Oblivion against Axel, so some Xion missions would be nice too.
Days was my first Kingdom Hearts game. Had no idea who the hell Sora was, just like Roxas, so I was very immersed story wise with his confusion. Hell, I cousin find my copy of the game a few months ago and panicked so hard (I’ve had since the month it was out) I went and bought a new copy on Amazon with the og manual. I legit don't know if I played 2 or 1 for my first game because I was so young when I played them for the first time, but can vouch that days is my favorite solely because of the equipment system

This game and recoded are the epitome of a fucking nightmare to 100%. You literally have to play practically perfect. One mistake and you have to restart the mission in days or a restart the sector in recoded all over again. Days also gave the worst 100% game awards of any KH game. You get a ring and the ultima weapon panel which are completely worthless. The ultima one maxes your strength, but when you get it, it has literally no purpose. The ring I think nullifies all magic damage but when you whiff or miss a hit you get damaged. And it has another debuff that makes it so you can't heal at critical HP. Probably the dumbest accessory idea in existence. I might be wrong, but I think that the JP version of days only requires the sigils to 100%. The JP version does not have a solo mission mode option

We need multiplayer back in KH games. Not even the port for BBS had multiplayer like the original did. It'd make kh have a lot more replayability and you could enjoy it with your friends.
Man you should do some long retrospective/reviews of the KH games. Would be fun to see how you feel about them all. Specially for ones everyone hasn’t actually played
I fortunately played Days instead of watching the cutscenes and man, it is definitely one of my favourites, i really loved the Organization 13 there, Roxas and Xion's interactions were golden and the emotional scenes really wrecked me
I have looked into this mod before and it's promising. I hope more people can help out with it and probably add Marluxia's and Larxene's nobodies from KH3. In fact, I trully want to see a community versions of Lexaeus, Zexion, and Vexen nobodies. We never got to see them and probably never will.
The idea of playing Days like it was KH2 sounds like a dream come true, currently going through the collection and still pondering if I should get a 3DS, get a copy of Days and play it OG or just watch the cutscenes since gameplay is nice but it kinda sucks you can't save that progress :(
I feel like most people dont understand days gameplay but the magic system is really in depth. Only issue is that you can only use 1 magic spell at a time because ds limitations. Roxas movement also becomes goated as you go through the game and i wish future games got a challenge mode like days had
i hope he can get a team of people to help him out, something like this is way too much for one person to handle, but all the work he's putting in is incredible

@Xeno_Solarus It's a bit clunky yeah, but the game as a whole is slower paced so it works out. Not as good as the mainline games, but it works as it's own thing. The biggest annoyance to me is the camera control, if it had a better camera (and no stealth missions) it would feel a lot better to play imo. Lock-on means it's fine during combat for the most part, but travelling/exploring is a pain.
I still hold out hope that square will rerelease Days (and Re:Coded). I heard recently that they had originally planned to have Days playable in the original 1.5 collection but scrapped it due to time constraints or something
Regarding a secret boss, hear me out... A hidden mission that revolves around you (Roxas) fighting Sora during Kingdom Hearts 2. Sora would have all of his powers and abilities from the game, and at a third of his health, would pop into Limit Form, restoring his health and replacing his moveset with the slower, but more powerful Limit moveset, and eventually youd beat him, giving an exclusive custom cutscene of Roxas taking over Soras body to return to his mission of destroying the Organization.
I think a remake in the current saga still works cause we really don't know much about the backstory of luxord, demyx, marluxia, and larxene in the way of how they ended up there. A remaster with some extended scenes and new special reports could deepen the lore while providing clues to their relevence to the new saga or at least why they were there.
@@padmescurl honestly demyx is the most interesting. He seems like a average person who ended up there but he also has the strength of heart to become a nobody of that calibur. He would hide behind this cowardly bravado but did more footwork for the organization accross multiple world in kh2 than we see from the others but buckles in kh3 when he knows he will die in the final fight so he switches sides and is instrumental in the defeat of xeanort as well as the return of roxas and namine(if memory serves). He has definitely been left as an ambiguous character intentionally and will probably be incredibly relevant in the next saga.
The issue with this is KH3 kinda depends on everything being what it was. This means expanding on these characters can have dire consequences as they are walking through a retcon minefield. We saw the effects BBS had on KH3 by effectively introducing a bunch of characters as hyper important without foreshadowing prior to the point where a character joked about not knowing who these people are. Literally this is like playing with fire near flammable containers with explosive gases. We'd be better off exploring these characters through something entirely new.

Also while yes there is a possibility for retcons on marluxia and larxene, we still don't know about how they got there. Union cross is to recent for them to change anything and there is essentially nothing as far as info goes for demux and luxord. So if we got an explaination of how those 4 ended up in the organization and we don't have that information to begin with then how is it a retcon minefield?
COM, Days and Re:coded are my most played KH games, I'm pretty sure at least. And of course all three are locked to only be playable on Emulator these days, what a fun situration. Ah well, peak stays on old Nintendo handhelds all the time.
It seems that the worlds of KHII that weren't in Days will be included in this remake (Port Royal, Pridelands) as well. Hopefully, this will include Atlantica as well
Is that coming at the cost of the KH1 worlds that they won't be able to implement though? I assume that's still a major limitation for KH2 mods, though at least some have managed to add Traverse Town somehow (though not sure if the entire world or just First District).
I wouldn't take that footage as gospel for any KH2 worlds being in the final product. The hack is clearly still in beginning stages and testing out characters in KH2 worlds as placeholders is easier
I’ve always been salty 358 and coded never got remade/remastered I feel like they’re underrated and their issues could be smoothed out in a rerelease Especially recoded I loved the implimentation of the command deck in it
What would be cool is if Square's initial plans of having a gameplay feature where you can command Nobodies be made possible in this KHDFM. It's hard to imagine that being naturally implemented but always wondered what that was supposed to look like.
i hope they update some the missions to make them more enjoyable but it was awesome seeing such unique enemies and playing as the 13 + the fun extra unlock characters... honestly i need a pc just to play modded kh

358/2 days was the first Kingdom Hearts game that I got my hands on and I got this for Christmas the year it was released. This game deserves a remake because for the few who got to experience and play as Roxas (Sora's nobody) and learn a bit more about Roxas and Organization XIII and the things that occurred from the ending of KH1, through all COM to before the beginning KH2. Heck, the sea salt trio is my favorite trio due to all the BS the three of them have to go through and how their friendship form, however, I am happy to see them all together in KH3.
If we do get an official Days or UX/Dark Road remake I hope that it is on a similar scale as that of Final Fantasy VII Remake. At the very least with 358/2 Days we can experience the story through the HD cutscenes they included in the 1.5 Remake. UX is arguably a much more crucial story and it is still limited in accessibility to a mobile phone game (if you don't count Back Cover which leaves out... a lot) so having that expanded to an actual full scale game like BBS or KHIII would be awesome to see.
I know it wont be the same but i bet when the phone games, hopefully including the xehanort origins one whatever its called, it will be mission based, even have some ideas on character development would work if it gets a design overhaul.
Days is my favorite game of the series. Roxas and Xion are my favorite characters, I'm one of them fans who's been outcrying for a remake. Can't wait for the mods to be released
I'll never understand why they rushed Kingdom Hearts 3! Turning it into the broken mess it was. The creators were well aware of their fanbase's patience.. so wth!? Push it back another year or two! We'd have been absolutely fine with it. A huge shame.
I've always thought it was weird that Days had such a great multiplayer, but never made use of Nintendo WFC, and instead only had LAN connection, which made it so I could never play with others, since none of my friends had the game.

I remember my sister and I playing days I think I usually play some of the bosses while my sister upgraded the items. Days was such a good story in the Xehanort saga. But yeah we aren’t getting a days remake due to like you say we are focusing on the next saga but hey it’s always fun to talk about previous kingdom hearts games
Days deserves a remake primarily for mission mode. A multiplayer Kingdom Hearts experience sounds like such a fun idea and it's so wierd that's never been taken outside of handhelds.
Yeah, I’m gonna need to keep my eye on this one. I’m definitely very fond of Days, not just as the KH game with probably the best story, but I do find some of its ideas interesting. While it seems unlikely that O’Shinobi will bring in the panel system, as you’ve said, I’m excited to see how things might work in place of those considering how much he could change. A bit sad that we’re getting the HD movie cutscenes-those rewrote a lot of lines to remove the personality, definitely a writing down grade-but I get it, what else could he have even done? As for the multiplayer, and the unlikeliness of Square remaking Days themselves, I feel like this transition period in the current KH story would be a good time to do something like that again. Especially with KH4 taking place in the Quadratum where only a select few of Sora’s friends are even able to follow after him, I think it’d be fun to have a side game along the lines of Days’ multiplayer with all the B team folks holding down the fort in the Disney worlds and such.
I feel that by Fans is the only way we would get an updated version. The option at 1.5 was it. While re:coded is fun, I have replayed it only once while I've replayed Days many many times.
My biggest concern with a remake is they are going to make this bridge into KH4. We are going to likely see a lot more involving certain characters and their plots, which sounds neat till you consider retcons. This would be a retcon pre-KH3 likely causing more harm then good. I feel like Nomura and his team struggle with anything long form, they forget to plan ahead and it is becoming an issue the bigger Kingdom Hearts tries to become while connecting everything. Planning is hard, but they should at least have a summary of 2-3 games ahead for a general goal and guideline while having an idea what the major villain looks like and their general goals and motivations.
I would love an actual remake with mission mode. It was so fun with friends! But honestly this guy making this mod is awesome for making his own version!
Yeah I also really wanted a remake of the entire xehornart dark seeker saga that would definitely keep up with current game engines. I talking upgraded graphics and upgraded CGI on all upgraded consoles. Includes the Nintendo switch 2 that is too.
If it doesn’t get canceled that is. I feel like we heard so many Days remake fan projects, and they always never get finished to it’s fullest potential. Even though the odds are slim to none for an official remake of Days, I’ll always hold out hope for one. I’m sticking with never say never philosophy here.

Days had the coolest cgaracter roster to date. Being able to play as every organization member, KH1-ish Sora, Riku, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. Its an honest to good time.
Dude idk, I love Days and I think it doesn’t really need to change. My brother played the other games first and I had to watch him and the cutscenes on UA-cam before I finally started playing myself, and Days was my first game. It’s nostalgic to me and even though I struggle to beat it after my first complete play through, I wouldn’t change a thing about it.

COM, Days and Re:coded are my most played KH games, I'm pretty sure at least. And of course all three are locked to only be playable on Emulator these days, what a fun situration. Ah well, peak stays on old Nintendo handhelds all the time.
We could get to play as all the organization members but actually good which is something I've wanted to do for a very long time

It seems that the worlds of KHII that weren't in Days will be included in this remake (Port Royal, Pridelands) as well. Hopefully, this will include Atlantica as well
Is that coming at the cost of the KH1 worlds that they won't be able to implement though? I assume that's still a major limitation for KH2 mods, though at least some have managed to add Traverse Town somehow (though not sure if the entire world or just First District).
I wouldn't take that footage as gospel for any KH2 worlds being in the final product. The hack is clearly still in beginning stages and testing out characters in KH2 worlds as placeholders is easier

I feel like they’re underrated and their issues could be smoothed out in a rerelease
Especially recoded I loved the implimentation of the command deck in it

What would be cool is if Square's initial plans of having a gameplay feature where you can command Nobodies be made possible in this KHDFM. It's hard to imagine that being naturally implemented but always wondered what that was supposed to look like.
i hope they update some the missions to make them more enjoyable but it was awesome seeing such unique enemies and playing as the 13 + the fun extra unlock characters... honestly i need a pc just to play modded kh

Recoded was the unsung hero of the DS. 358/2 Days gameplay is best in multiplayer. These are 2 things not a lot of people understand
358/2 days was the first Kingdom Hearts game that I got my hands on and I got this for Christmas the year it was released. This game deserves a remake because for the few who got to experience and play as Roxas (Sora's nobody) and learn a bit more about Roxas and Organization XIII and the things that occurred from the ending of KH1, through all COM to before the beginning KH2. Heck, the sea salt trio is my favorite trio due to all the BS the three of them have to go through and how their friendship form, however, I am happy to see them all together in KH3.

If we do get an official Days or UX/Dark Road remake I hope that it is on a similar scale as that of Final Fantasy VII Remake.
At the very least with 358/2 Days we can experience the story through the HD cutscenes they included in the 1.5 Remake. UX is arguably a much more crucial story and it is still limited in accessibility to a mobile phone game (if you don't count Back Cover which leaves out... a lot) so having that expanded to an actual full scale game like BBS or KHIII would be awesome to see.
I know it wont be the same but i bet when the phone games, hopefully including the xehanort origins one whatever its called, it will be mission based, even have some ideas on character development would work if it gets a design overhaul.

Days is my favorite game of the series. Roxas and Xion are my favorite characters, I'm one of them fans who's been outcrying for a remake. Can't wait for the mods to be released

I'll never understand why they rushed Kingdom Hearts 3! Turning it into the broken mess it was.
The creators were well aware of their fanbase's patience.. so wth!? Push it back another year or two! We'd have been absolutely fine with it. A huge shame.

I've always thought it was weird that Days had such a great multiplayer, but never made use of Nintendo WFC, and instead only had LAN connection, which made it so I could never play with others, since none of my friends had the game.

I remember my sister and I playing days I think I usually play some of the bosses while my sister upgraded the items. Days was such a good story in the Xehanort saga.
But yeah we aren’t getting a days remake due to like you say we are focusing on the next saga but hey it’s always fun to talk about previous kingdom hearts games
The secret boss should be the fight with Sora but from Roxas’s perspective with the cutscene at the end still being the same where roxas passes
Days deserves a remake primarily for mission mode. A multiplayer Kingdom Hearts experience sounds like such a fun idea and it's so wierd that's never been taken outside of handhelds.

Yeah, I’m gonna need to keep my eye on this one. I’m definitely very fond of Days, not just as the KH game with probably the best story, but I do find some of its ideas interesting. While it seems unlikely that O’Shinobi will bring in the panel system, as you’ve said, I’m excited to see how things might work in place of those considering how much he could change. A bit sad that we’re getting the HD movie cutscenes-those rewrote a lot of lines to remove the personality, definitely a writing down grade-but I get it, what else could he have even done?
As for the multiplayer, and the unlikeliness of Square remaking Days themselves, I feel like this transition period in the current KH story would be a good time to do something like that again. Especially with KH4 taking place in the Quadratum where only a select few of Sora’s friends are even able to follow after him, I think it’d be fun to have a side game along the lines of Days’ multiplayer with all the B team folks holding down the fort in the Disney worlds and such.
Re:coded is my favorite gameplay wise out of the handheld games followed up with 358/2 days
I would pay full price for a remake of this I remember playing days when it first came out and was really sad when the hd was only cutscenes
I feel that by Fans is the only way we would get an updated version. The option at 1.5 was it. While re:coded is fun, I have replayed it only once while I've replayed Days many many times.
As long as they fix the level up system for days so you don't have to equip them manually to get stronger then I'm in.
My biggest concern with a remake is they are going to make this bridge into KH4.
We are going to likely see a lot more involving certain characters and their plots, which sounds neat till you consider retcons.
This would be a retcon pre-KH3 likely causing more harm then good.
I feel like Nomura and his team struggle with anything long form, they forget to plan ahead and it is becoming an issue the bigger Kingdom Hearts tries to become while connecting everything. Planning is hard, but they should at least have a summary of 2-3 games ahead for a general goal and guideline while having an idea what the major villain looks like and their general goals and motivations.
I would love an actual remake with mission mode. It was so fun with friends!

Yeah I also really wanted a remake of the entire xehornart dark seeker saga that would definitely keep up with current game engines. I talking upgraded graphics and upgraded CGI on all upgraded consoles. Includes the Nintendo switch 2 that is too.

If it doesn’t get canceled that is. I feel like we heard so many Days remake fan projects, and they always never get finished to it’s fullest potential. Even though the odds are slim to none for an official remake of Days, I’ll always hold out hope for one. I’m sticking with never say never philosophy here.

Days had the coolest cgaracter roster to date. Being able to play as every organization member, KH1-ish Sora, Riku, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. Its an honest to good time.
Dude idk, I love Days and I think it doesn’t really need to change. My brother played the other games first and I had to watch him and the cutscenes on UA-cam before I finally started playing myself, and Days was my first game. It’s nostalgic to me and even though I struggle to beat it after my first complete play through, I wouldn’t change a thing about it.
If they're using KH2 as the base for this mod my question is how they'll integrate the Neverland missions.
They can import maps from other kh games now into kh2. They’re going to be porting animations and maps from 358/2
the modder has already ported the lobby in the castle that never was. i assume he would also just port the maps for neverland as well

@@dunkbuscusgaming7016 they arnt going to be using the kh2 gummiship map so. adding custom maps that you teleport to using the realm of darkness wont be to hard. its already been done in other mod packs like the roxas mod with traverse town.
