But here for example: 15:03 is a completely custom animation from this mod which does not exist in the main game. Same with 16:10. (If it does someone correct me and provide a source) So my main point I was trying to make still stands.

Yeah it's incredible what they were able to do here with reverse engineering, compiled code & the limitations of the ps2 (yes I know, this wouldn't run on a real ps2, but still). Now imagine if they were given an actual game engine to work with, maybe even make them base it off KH3?
Such a cool mod. Despite the heavy RPG roota, you can pretty easily turn Kingdom Hearts into a straight up action game and this mod takes that idea to the next level. And the campaign of Roxas going on a rogue mission is also so cool... almost like a "what if" scenario had Riku failed to capture him before the events of the game.
This alternate timeline of Roxas finding his way out of Data-Twilight Town and just going on a quest for vengeance for Xion makes me feel even worse for Roxas. It's a good thing Ansem was able to convince him to rejoin Sora, cause otherwise he would've killed all of Org 13, Xehanort would've won, and Roxas would just have no purpose anymore. If I went deeper on this, I guess he would've just lived his life in Twilight Town with Heyner, Pence, and Olette until eventually Xehanort does his thing and sends every world to Darkness, of which Roxas would then go dual-wield mode again and start whooping Xehanorts ass, beating him probably, and then essentially take up Sora's position as the one to save all the World's, cause that's what Xion would've wanted. Basically, a John Wick type story, except with Roxas.
Damn I love the fact you can string together your own combos. You can somewhat do it in Kh2 but this is the kind of control we need especially with the addition of reaction commands in this particular game in the series.
I personally see this as a what-if Roxas grew his heart back before he joined with Sora again, which caused him to suddenly awake in twilight town, and decides to take on the Org and wiped them out before heading back to twilight town to actually complete Sora again
*Sorry I know that’s a lot of reading lol. Kinda got carried away. 😂 TL;DR: Roxas always had a heart, Ventus’ heart returning to Sora’s Nobody causing him to look like Ventus. This combined with Roxas resonating with Sora allowed Roxas to develope his own heart. He always did have a heart, but it was Ventus’ heart. Hence why Roxas looks like Ven. When Sora release his and Kairi’s hearts in KH1, Ventus’ heart was released as well but couldn’t return to Ven because of his body being in the Chamber of Waking. So Ven’s heart returned to Sora’s nobody thus causing that Nobody to take on Ven’s appearance. The series touches upon the question of if Roxas actually has a heart a couple time. After Sora fights Roxas at the Station of Awakening in KH2 at the beginning of The World That Never Was, Axel even asks him as they’re both fading away on the Clock Tower “Hey, Roxas… are you sure you really don’t have a heart?” That’s also why in 258/2 Days, Xigbar sees Xion take on the appearance of Ven when she tries to escape the Org. Xion was absorbing some of Ventus’s memories from being in proximity to Ventus’ heart via Roxas. I think due to him being a Nobody of one person but simultaneously becoming the vessel of another person’s heart may have caused Roxas to eventually develop his own heart after returning to Sora, as we learn he did in KH3. I dont think Roxas being the Nobody of a Keyblade wielder inherently allowed him to use the Keyblade. Xemnas, Luxu, Marluxia, Demyx, Larxine, and Luxord all where Keyblade wielders at one point before they became Nobodies but were unable to use Keyblades. Roxas on the other hand could straight from the moment he was created, I think this is due to Ventus’ heart being within him. He was then able to wield two Keyblades as he resonated with Sora the closer and closer Sora was to waking. Because it’s not till Xion returns Sora’s memories of Kairi, that we see Roxas wield two Keyblades when he fights Riku at the end of 258/2 Days. Even Axel was completely surprised at seeing Roxas have a second Keyblade when they fight on the 7th Day of the KH2 Prologue. So perhaps this is due to Roxas resonating and connecting to Sora to a much deeper extent. Or, Perhaps due to Roxas housing Ventus’ heart AND Roxas resonating with Sora more strongly this may have kickstarted Roxas forming a heart of his own thus allowing him to wield two Keyblade.
Makaihana is the creator of the keyblade models btw! He's an old friend of mine and actually created them each over the years while he was learning blender. He's a great person and amazing friend. I hope more people use his models in future fan projects!
Between Braig and Xehanort, it seems like Nobodies an independent ability to summon other types of weapons, or seemingly their only weapon in the cases of the Ienzo and Even. I think its cool that they made a bladeless form for Roxas, there was always that question like "Why does Xemnas also have static laser lightshow powers?" The organization all have their own element as well, and it just makes so much since that even without a keyblade Roxas/Sora would just wield some kind of weapon of pure light. I think you're on the money comparing it to wisdom, but the fact that hes unarmed and throwing bare knuckles, I'd argue its also like an opposite version of Anti-Form.

This needs to be made into a 358\2 remake mod - like make a riku and xion boss and pull in some of the cutscenes from the 358 movie. Then we could finally have the remake of days we've always wanted. Hope thats an Idea they have too, maybe when it hits full release we'll see that...
This is one of those mods that make me wonder if, in some better alternate universe, this is the game they got day 1. It looks like everything KH2 should've been from word go, the only thing that could possibly be better as a design matter, is having the style system be it's own HUD element rather than replacing the "Attack" command.
I said it before on his channel when he showcased Awakened Form and I'll say it again if a 7th keyblade was added to Limit Break II it be the ultimate parallel to Noctis' Armigar state with 13 Royal Arms with Roxas using 7 keys XD This mod is truly one of the peaks of Roxas gameplay hands down and I've seen lots of Roxas mods just as good, but this one hits me in the heart.
Makes me wish someone would take this as a foundation for a Days remake. This gameplay, with the cutscenes from the movie version, and the few new areas from Days, import the completely new enemies as they did here and use altered recolors where appropriate. If it were up to me, the way I'd do it is have valor form be a sort of "nobody" form, where roxas used skills and attacks from the other organization members. Like having demnix water geysers or the rock guys power up mechanic. As for an anti form, they could give us access to one of xions keyblade transformations (excluding the finale form because reasons) to use

I'll be honest, i've always felt iffy about turning KH into something like DMC. The two games play very differently if you really look at how they work. This mod might be the best way they could have done it. It takes inspiration from DMC while still feeling like a KH game in how everything is executed. Still though, I hope this doesn't make the fandom want KH to just turn into DMC, because they already kinda do and this might just make it worse.

If I had a computer... I would play TF OUT OF THIS, cackling all the way! The thought of DMC X Kingdom Hearts like this is amazing! Props to the mod team for making this a reality. 🎉
I'll be honest, i've always felt iffy about turning KH into something like DMC. The two games play very differently if you really look at how they work. This mod might be the best way they could have done it. It takes inspiration from DMC while still feeling like a KH game in how everything is executed.
Still though, I hope this doesn't make the fandom want KH to just turn into DMC, because they already kinda do and this might just make it worse.

Haha, I saw this on another channel (can't remember the name) debut the mod, it looks absolutely incredible, and is everything I've ever wanted out of a kingdom Hearts game. It's like if we got a sequel and theoretical "What-if" sequel to 358 & Roxas's powers awakened and he went to off the organization himself lol he saw Sora sleeping in the memories pod and said to himself "nah homie, You rest, I got this" lmao 🤭🎮🕹️💯
