what kinds of activities is a volunteer asked to do and where?
So glad I found your channel! I love what you're doing (being fairly newly disabled in the past few years). We had a house fire and it is now just me moving into the new home. My goal is to re learn how to use power tools! I am a girl with a plan! 😁 Thank you for providing such great information, As well as offering great tools at reasonable prices. I hope to add something to my collection soon❤ With love from Boston
If no one has said it to you today, JKM thanks for making this world a better place one build at a time!
I really appreciate it my friend
Woodworking is something I only recently got into, and my son (11), like most young boys, wants to help his dad. My son has an undiagnosed neuro disorder that has left him at the developmental stages of a 5 year old and he has gross and fine motor skill issues, so definitely no power tools! To get around this, we build things using only hand tools such as whisk drills, bit and brace with auger bits and very closely supervised work with Japanese saws. I am extremely proud of the planter he helped build, it's basic but he helped make it and it takes pride of place in the garden.
Anything you can do to help disadvantaged people is fantastic and I really hope you are able to hit your $1m target. Keep up the good work.
As a woodworker with Cerebral Palsy, Blind in one eye and a traumatic brain injury, this means a lot. Although I have the capacity to build most of what I need I would love to be a part of this!
Awesome book that gives you step-by-step photos ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt and directions to make every day project. I can see myself making a few of these projects and giving them as housewarming and holiday gifts!
Thank you for all you do for disabled people, I've been in a chair for 30ish years and only discovered my love of woodworking around 6 years ago. I only do small things like lovespoons and carvings, but I love watching people like yourself.
I wish I lived close enough to be able to visit, but im the other side of the pond. Take care, and thank you again.
Thanks Mr. Katz-Moses for my Avid cnc that is going to arrive soon
I was injured 1.5 years ago and it now gave me "time" to do woodworking. I might never get use of my hand back but I push through with wood projects. This video hit kinda close to me and I just think you are doing awesome things here. Thank you sir.
Jonsthan.... thank you for being you. As a nearly blind maker in my 20's myself, it warms my heart to know that someone actually cares. Making has been a soother for me as it is one area I feel that I can actually accomplish things with tangible results. Obviously, it is ridiculously hard and ludicrously expensive, but the joy that comes out of it is the elixir of life for me. The challenges make it rewarding. Thank you once more.
You are, simply, a wonderful human being. So many of us should aspire to be more like you, with your kindness and generosity.
I used to work with young kids on the autism spectrum and still see 1 kid to this day as a mentor. Recently have been watching woodworking videos with him and he is really wanting to get started but scared of the machines so we're moving slowly. I'm excited to share the KM charity with his parents - hopefully they apply and get involved!
I'm late to seeing this but I ordered my mallet today. It will arrive after I leave for my deployment but it will be a fantastic welcome home gift when I get back. I love your videos and have learned so much from you. Thank you for what you do.
I received my mallet today.
Excellent build quality, very cool looking.
Feels great in the hand.
I do have some suggestions for minor improvements.
Only worth thinking about if this becomes a popular product.
As it is, amazing value and quality tool.
Truly a mensch. Good luck on the campaign. I'll see what I can do to help.
thank you for including me in this initiative and allowing me the opportunity to create a custom project for a member of my community! it was an experience I will never forget
You really crushed it my friend!
You are making the world a better place, Jonathan! Keep being you. So excited to get a mallet, it’s a work of art. 💚
@@katzmoseschannel absolutely not
I landed myself on disability due to my diabetes and the effect it had on my body, so many foot surgeries and neuropathy in my hands and feet. I'm 46 and I can attest to the mental state it puts you not being able to do the things I used to do, like for instance shooting hoops with my grandkids. I started woodworking in my 8x8 shed a couple yrs ago I know it's small I make it work and it gave me something to do and occupy my head. I'm not confined to a wheelchair or anything like that but whatever the struggle people face just know there are people out there that care. I applaud you Mr Katz-Moses this is super awesome. God bless you guys over there.
This is awesome… as a disabled person it is nice to see someone like you doing this. Since being disabled it has hugely affected my life and the life of my family.
I hope you apply my friend. We’d love to work with you.
I’ll look in to that, thank you. But first “ priority” is trying to find and come up with the extra funds for a table saw so I can finish my daughter’s end table.
An absolute legend. A big thank you to yourself and the team for what ya'll are doing for this community. Also. Got my mallet a week or so ago. I could not believe how CHONKY that little thing is. Great work. Knocked it out of the park!
Thank you for supporting disabled people. I am disabled and am trying to acquire the tools necessary to become a luthier. Quite hard to do when living on $1000/month social security disability. I appreciate your help even if I got nothing, I know others in need will.
Thank you for helping those diagnosed with a disability!
I very much appreciated you advocating for disabled wood workers as I am one of them. I found out in 2014 that I have a lesion inside my spinal cord that has ended my career as a residential painter/Reno’s business owner and now I have only been able to stand up for maybe 2 hours and it’s enough to send me into a pain filled 2 days so woodworking takes longer for me now which is one of my passions in life. So I volunteer now twice a week teaching high school kids how to build sets for the musical production they do every year. Since I’m unable to work anymore I haven’t been able to build the pieces I needed in my wood shop to make my life easier and I always enjoy watching your stuff so thank you for doing this segment!
Really cool. Thanks for all the inspiration. Keep kicking butts.
It's really great to see that there's potentially help available for disabled woodworkers. I'm part of a community workshop and often feel like I'm the only physically disabled one there. It's difficult for me to work on projects for more than 1-2 hours at a time because of exhaustion and pain so it can be frustrating sometimes, but I enjoy building what I can.
Great stuff!! My 34 year old son spent about 6 months last year in a wheelchair after experiencing issues with one of his legs and dizziness associated with long Covid. He is doing much better now but just shows how blessed we are when we have good health and how easy it can be to lose it. Thanks for all you are doing to help.
That’s pretty cool. I just heard about you yesterday from my buddy who got a sawstop. I just applied for help too. God bless you
Living in extreme pain on a daily basis is mentally exhausting and very difficult. The negative thoughts and feelings that come with that are very self destructive. However, the feelings of accomplishment, pride and purpose that I get from woodworking with my own hands (on the days that I’m able) helps combat that. The enjoyment I get from learning from people like you gives me a window of time where I can forget about my disability and what I’m going through. Thank you for what you do! It’s not only raising money, it’s saving lives!
I love it. The mallet and what you're doing So I got one. It's been 2 years since I have been able to make anything Do to losing my please To build anything. So not only do I get amazing mallet. And and a chance to spend a week making things with you. It is for an awesome cause.
I absolutely love what you do! I live with an autoimmune disorder that sometimes keeps me from the shop but I sometimes just deal with the pain because the feeling in the shop gives me the best feeling! I loved everything I've bought from you I've loved! So I better get me a gift for my birthday from your site

Jonathan, just wanted to thank you for this. I was a commercial contractor and fell on my head and wrecked my spine. Had to sell my company, been on disability ever since. I set up a little wood shop in my garage, best therapy I ever did. Woodworking helps the soul. Keep up the good work, brother!
Hey brother, replying back to you!
Grace & Peace, Bill
Careful bud that's a fake katz Moses. Scammers should be ashamed of themselves.....
Thanks bro
Awesome man, that's great. I'm in my mid thirties, and was diagnosed with M.S. and Lyme disease about 10 years ago. Woodworking has definitely been my therapy. A bit challenging, and slow going, but worth it. I don't really get out to benefit from any kind of contest, but definitely appreciate what you're doing for the community
Mallet arrived today. WOW, and because it needs to said again * WOW*. What a beautiful tool to add to my lineup. Thank you for all you do.
Love hearing your story. My uncle has started woodworking (mostly scroll saw work) as a good way to help with his Parkinson's that he was diagnosed with 5 years ago. He donates all his work also.
As a disabled veteran, there are no words to express how much I respect and appreciate what you are doing! I've been a fan of your videos for a while but never a subscriber for some odd reason... fixed that today. I'm in a position where I don't need support/assistance and feel very fortunate. I try to do as much as I can to support veteran programs of all sorts. Thank you for what you do and keep up the good fight!
Wow I'm a 29, Developing Woodworker from Australia and was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis in both hips, knees and elbows at 25.
I went from walking 20k steps a day to bed bound or on crutches for a year until they figured out what was wrong and how to medicate me.
Ive spent the 4 years since struggling to find an understanding employer, trying to understand what this means for me, getting married and now have started my own woodshop to finance my family and life on my own terms. It has given me new life and energy to get up and keep trooping every day.
I encourage all of my disabled support group to craft as much as possible and this is amazing.
Im going to reach out regarding a % of the shops profits coming to the Katz-Moses Disabled Woodworkers Fund, I hope we can organise something I would be proud as punch to be supporting you as much as possible!
From a young disabled wood worker on the other side of the globe, thank you John, this is incredible.
Thank you for what you're doing to help people! As a person who hasn't been able to work a full-time job for four years because of several spine issues, I also know the mental toll and stress that comes along with disabilities. I have been fighting to get approved for disability, but due to my age, I keep getting denied. I have sold most of my mechanics tools to purchase woodworking tools. I find woodworking is therapeutic, and like you said, I feel a sense of accomplishment and worth when I complete a project. Thanks again for all you do to help others. God bless you brother!
I love this. My son has Autism and my wife is visually impaired. I have actually built a peg board for her so that she can teach other visually impaired people brail. I want to build a bunch of these for the visually impaired schools in the area. Also for my son I have built sensory boards for him to help him with his Autism.
What you are doing is absolutely amazing.
Wonderful program. Thanks for doing this.
This is just an amazing effort. Such a great channel.
Thank you my friend!
thanks😍
I injured myself in october and man I feel the pain of people with disabilities ive been stuck to staying in bed most days and ive really been missing the shop. Hope anyone in the same boat gets better.
Thank you for bringing attention to us disabled woodworkers . I got one of your aprions about a year ago and love it .Michael Vaaandyke Mahooseman Woodworking
Thanks Jonathan I stumbled across your Chanel by chance and you have inspired me to get back in my little workshop and start making things even though I struggle with rheumatoid arthritis in my hands keep it up my friend you are a inspiration to many and thanks again
I am recently returning to woodworking after losing all my experience to a traumatic brain injury and then stroke. I am at the "watching tons of videos stage" hoping it triggers some memories. I'm really glad that you are doing this. I won't be applying at this time but I hope to apply as a helper when I get a bit more re-knowledge. ☺️
Jonathan you are truly amazing for what you’re doing. As someone who got hurt years ago I may not look disabled but I live in pain everyday and it changed everything about my life. So thank you you have become an inspiration to me to get out in my garage and clean things up and try to start making things. Used to do woodworking with my grandfather when I was younger and have been looking for something to give my life meaning again so thank you so much. Trying to save up my money to buy one of your router planes I want to learn more about hand tools and how to use them. Don’t have very many tools just buy things one at a time. God bless you fro what you do love your channel .
I love the idea. One of the best I have heard about yet, can’t wait to get involved.
Dude this made my day. I've learned so much from your content but I've also been inspired by your compassion. Thanks for the example you set and for helping me learn this incredibly rewarding craft man. You're a genuinely dope ass person. 💯💪🏾
I agree with you. I'm a disabled veteran and when I got injured I was confined to a wheelchair for a year and it was the worst time in my life. Got to where I'm able to walk using my cane after a year of therapy. For anyone else that's disabled keep faith life is still worth living. Keep up the struggle
Here here my friend
This is really incredible what you are doing, if only more people were like you!
Jonathan, maybe reach out to Rob Cosman. He does great things with the Purple Heart Foundation. Working with injured vets, im sure he knows of some well deserved vets who are now disabled and would be an absolute great fit with what you are doing.
Rob is doing great things
Amazing!
Absolutely, 58 years old with one passion until a stroke, back surgery, and septic shock from staphylococcus infection. Now trying to collect tools and studying utube videos.
That's awesome. I have seen some people do stuff like this with military vets.
My Chisel Mallet arrived in Victoria, Australia a couple of days ago, a great product and awesome service. Thanks!
I lost my toe a while back and couldn't be in my garage for half a year and it sucks just as I was getting back in I have to have another surgery so tools are on hold again its good to hear your helping people out
These are the things I can get behind, keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to using the mallet.
Great stuff, I hope you have all the success in the world. It also goes to show the kind of person you are that you spend so much of your time and effort on this charity initiative.
I appreciate that!
I can relate a little bit to what you went through when you were a kid. When I was teenager I had a bone cyst in my hand that needed a few surgeries. Then when I was in my late twenties I had to get back surgery twice. It really shows you how much we take things for granted. Thanks for doing this, I will definitely be supportive your efforts in whatever way I can.
You are doing great things. Very awesome. I just filled out application to become a volunteer.
wow and thank you Katz . what a giving guy you are . i so wished i could donate to your causes . however wife in hospital 4 times in 22 and myself a double bypass. its okay we are old 70 . working out so i can get back in my shop again . God bless you and take care . oh and i am a vet honorable discharged . sad to say i did not know the hoops i had to jump through to get the V.A. to pay part of my stuff . if i had only know lol but of course . all ways some hitch . yes i was in during the NAM but missed orders for it yea me !
Thank You
What I would love to see is for JKM to fly one of the disabled people (and a carer, for those under 18) to KMHQ to work with Jonathan for a week... That would be amazing.
Man this is awesome! I can't wait to see how far this goes! So proud of you brother!
Such an amazing thing you are doing. Wish you great success with this venture. Aloha bruddah
thanks
Loving the work you're doing mate. The mallet looks great, gonna check with the bank manager (wife) and order one!!
😂 good call
You are doing great things. Very awesome.
You rock, sir. MS tries every day to keep me from making toys and stuff and you have given me a new boost of determination.
@@user-kj3kc5rg9r I see that you’re using Jonathan’s logo, what are you doing here?
you are a freaking solid dude!!
It's awesome what you do. I applaud you. Im a begging wood worker. About 6 months now. It has costed alot to get where I am between tools and consumables. I want to take this somewhere one day. I want to be able to sale what I make. That being said I don't have much money specially with trying to remodel our home so that it's livable as well. I would absolutely love to win a band saw because I need one so bad but not the money to buy one lol. I will be purchasing your mallet tho to try and help any way I can. I have purchased your stop block tho for my crosscut sled and absolutely love it. I can't do much money wise but I would love to volunteer tho. At least do that much. The person that wins a week to build with you will be the luckiest person in the world. I could learn so much being a rookie.
I had polio as a baby and lost the use of my right arm. I say that I had great friends growing up it was never here let me help you it was if he wants any help he will ask and did everything they did. Today I am 67 and I build cabinets and furniture mostly by myself.
@@katzmoseschannel What do I need to do
I’m hearing impaired from a disease known as cholesteatoma and I can totally relate to how you felt at 12. But much like you were, I’m challenged, not disabled. I still have enough hearing to not need sign language, but the tinnitus in my head makes that borderline lol. I’m unable to donate anything at this moment, but I’ll be filling out the application and if there’s any way I can help, especially with your deaf/hearing impaired audience, I can certainly relate to them and would love to help any way I can. Thank you for what you do sir.
Awesome
Love you guys. Keep it up
Edit:. Just bought a mallet
The mallet looks dope. I’ve become such a fan of the plastic mallet heads, I’ll have to grab one!
It really is a work of art
Like what you are doing
Wow! Talk about watching a video that was talking directly to me! (2) hip replacements, rotator cuff surgery for the second time, two wrist surgeries and a knee surgery in the last four years! All since I retired early. I felt every single malady you mentioned when you were 12. I still can’t walk two hundred yards, if I bend over to pick something up, my hip and leg spasms to the point it feels like it’s disconnecting. The last wrist surgery (14 weeks ago) still kills me, to the point I can hardly open a zip lock bag or button my jeans. If not for the chiropractor and massage therapy (2 hrs a week), I wouldn’t be able to walk. I’m only 60, but I definitely understand the plights of those who suffer longer and more than I do. I refuse to get a hdc sticker , because there’s always someone who needs it more.
I applaud your efforts of giving back! I think I need to order a new chisel mallet. You’ll be making many peoples lives suck a little less!
Hi Jonathan, I sent you an email to the customer service link at the Km tool website. It’s the only way I knew how. (old school) LOL, better than a stamped envelope, huh?
@katzmoseschannel did you get my email?
Olso a mallet please 😊
I have nothing to say really, but I appreciate your content, and wish to help with the yt-algorithms.
This is so cool!

I started following you about 4 months ago and just found this video. I know the mallets have been selling well as they've been sold out for awhile now and I've been on the list to be notified for this and a few other of your tools when they're back in stock.
How are you doing with this initiative? Just curious if you have any updates?
Take care and thank you for all you do!
Fine
Jonathan, as someone who only has 25% of field of view (I'm absolutely blind from the left eye and the right side of my right eye - if was due to a lesion in the optical nerve during a surgery, I had a tumor under the brain, but it was benign) I thank you for that!
Honestly, my disability is nothing close to many people out there. I live very well with it, no issues. (My depression causes me more issues... LOL) You know?
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
JKM ROCKS!
I also have a I car garage that I am trying to make it better.
As a wood shop.
Great collaboration for Izzy Swan.
I just saw him last night. That’s a great idea
Just ordered the mallet even though I didn't get an email about pre sales
Good Luck!!!! I Can Not Purchase Or Donate At This Time, As I Am On A Fixed Income !!!!! Again Good Luck To Every One!!!!!
Keep taking my money...and also hurry up and ship my mallet ;)

Do you have to be on disability to apply for this? I've been partially disabled for more of half my life now, but neither my family, nor myself ever applied for any help.
How do I olso get your mallets please with one of each like how you use it how mutch will it cost please my bipolar and its my birthday march 😊😊
can i be a volunteer if i am one of the disabled folks?
Had a reply from a fake jkm wanting me to "contact them directly". Plz be careful people.
