I had the old solid shaft system and ordered the Borgesson kit but it didn't include the shaft. I just ordered the shaft and rag joint and wondered how much shaft to leave exposed for the stock wood grain steering wheel to mount to shaft. Knowing that would tell me how much I will need to cut off column tube.
If I remember things correctly we testfitted the steering wheel, column tube and the Borgeson shaft before we decided how much to cut the column tube. One other thing I'd like to share is the bracket I made later to attach the steering column to the firewall, scroll down on this webpage and there's pictures of it: fyi.boardhost.com/viewtopic.php?id=7908
I did this swap only I have a 68 coup 428 long tube headers and 4 speed took me about 4 hours.
Which order number is this kit from Borgeson ?
This is the kit we used: stevesmustangparts.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=11_140&products_id=18693
How much of the tube did you actually cut off and did you use the Borgesson steering shaft or do you have a collapsible shaft?
We used the Borgeson shaft that was included in the kit and the length of the shaft pretty much determine how much to cut the column.

hotrodhocke I saw that. The shaft that comes from Borgesson includes a firewall bracket.
Yes it does but it's more or less useless (unless they've improved it) and that's why I took the time to come up with something that actually works.
how much would this cost
