7:00-10:00 not only was Chugga being transparent with Emily about his interest in shoes, but Emily literally went along with the roleplay with no signs of discomfort. It’s just a silly conversation.

@@boxplayer3756 yep, this should have not spiraled out of control, resolving things privately without a public callout is the best solution. Chugga had a difficult life and childhood with his mental health issues and depression, and I feel so bad, it absolutely sucks. I just hope he can remain peaceful, happy and healthy while growing and improving.
As someone with autism if they are asking for consent or if something is fine, don't lie. Tell them the truth right away. we are low on some social cues so being up front is important.
He didn't tell the truth, that's the problem. He specifically said it wasn't sexual. That was a lie. When it started to become obvious he was enjoying it too much she got weirded out. I read through most of his response and it is a mature W. It is absolutely difficult that he went through trauma in his childhood, and was VERY unstable to the point of suicide. Yet he was able to bounce back and worked on himself to grow and improve. He did NOT deserve all that suffering, I wish him a happy and healthy recovery. He is strong. Emile also continuing to tell everyone to not hurt anyone else and not harass anyone just shows he wants everyone to move on and not prolong this. He also made some more statements too trying to clarify things and once again telling people to not harass anyone.
Moral of the story, always keep the receipts... This situation just goes to show "it always be your own people"

The autism thing is the part that infuriates me the most, particularly because some of these same people pretend to care so much about neurodivergents that they will infantilize them and treat a certain R word like it's the N word. It bothers me in particular because as you can tell, I'm autistic, and I've had my fair share of people trying to treat me like I'm not and then being surprised I can't figure out what they're trying to tell me.

again, being autistic isn't something you can just turn off or grow out of entirely. There's also the possibility that most people in chugga's life aren't the freaks YOU are and actually say what they want instead of passive aggressively trying to hint at it. Thus making it fairly far in life without having enough experience to know when people are trying to drop hints. There is no reason to not say what you want other than to be needlessly passive aggressive. YOU'RE an adult, use your words.
I don't like throwing this word around but my god the abilism I've seen in this situation makes me hate humanity. You are all so "supportive" of neurodivergent people, and scream at people not to use certain words, but the moment an autistic person is (gasp) being autistic, you suddenly treat them like they DON'T have a disorder that makes social cues a nightmare, and then accuse them of using their disability as a shield.
"I have autism and I wouldn't do that" is such a nothingburger of a statement. That's just selfishly inserting yourself into a situation that you clearly don't have any involvement in, and that's my biggest issue with everything that happened here, just a bunch of people inserting themselves into things to try and act as the moral compass while also devaluing and diluting the actual issues at hand. Unbelievable.
To add to what you said, the point is that Chugga was never being dubious about any of this, the autism he has made him misunderstand social cues, he’s not trying to make people uncomfortable, or use them sexually. He just didn’t understand how people were feeling. If someone autistic was guilty of this knowingly doing something wrong, that is an appropriate time to say “don’t hide behind your autism” because their actions and their autism is unrelated, and to say “it’s because I have autism” would be the definition of hiding behind it.
Speaking as someone who has autism, I don’t think Chugga was doing that. A lot, and I mean A LOT of his interactions with people in videos were unintentionally sexual, and I don’t have a hard time believing that this would happen to him, as someone who doesn’t know him personally, I have a very hard time believing he would sexually harass and manipulate people. Especially since he tried to make his intentions clear to LE which would be counter intuitive to the supposed goal of manipulating someone.

I always hate when someone stupidly says *You using your disability to avoid Criticism* the people who say that are the people who are never disabled and never will understand what it’s like to be disabled.
I can somewhat understand it. People have used their disabilities (both physical and mental) to dodge criticism of their actions in the past. But you can clearly see that's not what Emile is trying to do here

i can say what i saw from the document was emile trying to explain how it contributed to what happened, not using it as an excuse.

What got me was Masae, a longtime friend, accusing him of sexually harassing her for years before she cut him off. In reality, it was her SO flirting and being affectionate with his SO. That is worlds apart and no one would reasonably allege one while it was the other. I get she wanted people to stop asking her, but she could've said "We were friends but our personalities just clashed too much so we went our separate ways. I haven't talked to him in years so please leave me out of this."

I knew it. I knew the accusations were insulting at worst and overblown at best. I'm a CSA victim and I'm in no way an expert on this stuff. I can offer my perspective though. These people should be ashamed of themselves to attack a somewhat popular internet figure for clout. They won't apologize or admit that they were lying. They will never take accountability. My guy she left out crucial information and context to make him look like a creep when he wasn't. Sure, you can say he shouldn't have been doing it to begin with however when someone is given the OK several times over, and often times encourged to continue, of course it's probably going to continue. Holy crap this drama had tons of unexpected twists
This entire saga has been a rollercoaster for me. Emile was why I gave Mario and Luigi a chance- a bit of an odd choice compared to what many others would say, but his playthrough of Superstar Saga is what inspired me to pick up the Superstar Saga remake and I had a ball the whole way through. Some of my best memories of Emile’s let’s plays include his Partners in Time playthrough (complete with “last *insert interval of time* here”), Kirby Triple Deluxe (a source of comfort as the pandemic began and after Steven Universe crapped the bed), and the Super Mario Land one-off (truly his most labor-intensive series yet).
However, like many of us, my best Emile memories came from his more relaxed commentary from TheRunawayGuys. I don’t think I realized how perfect he, Jon and Tim were for each other. Jon balanced out Emile’s more outlandish comments and Tim kept the two of them from killing each other/provided underrated background commentary and beatboxes. 2021 was when I really delved deep into my TRG fandom, and I was alternating between watching new uploads and already completed series. Banjo-Kazooie, Mario Party DS, and DKC Returns had to have been some of the best series they did during this weird and wild decade.
Nothing seemed like it could go wrong…
And then it did.
It seemed like everything I knew about this Emile had been shattered in an instant. I didn’t want to believe that Emile was like that. None of us did, really. His initial apology seemed solid enough, but then came the one-two-three punch of Masae and AntDude’s condemnation and Lawly’s document.
That seemed like it was it. Emile the friendly neighborhood lets player had seemingly given way to Emile the creep who couldn’t say no to his flesh’s desires. I fortunately had a fellow TRG fan and anthropology major friend to discuss this matter with, and we were both able to grieve what had been revealed. She offered up her two bits on the matter, which were that she never expected Emile or any UA-camr to be exactly as they portrayed themselves onscreen because that’s just how people tend to be. People tend to be very different between when they’re performing for the pubic and when they’re behind the scenes.
My ultimate thoughts on the matter were that Emile donked up big time and needed as much help as he could get ASAP. While it would sting not seeing new videos from him or TRG, his mental well-being and addressing his issues were more important than my or anyone else’s selfish want for more content. And thankfully, that’s what he did.
The core TRG trio addressed this very messy issue maturely- far more maturely than I’d have expected them to, really. Emile got the help he needed, both Tim and Jon held him accountable, and they’ve been nothing but supportive of one another. Jon has been understandably quieter about the matter (poor guy had to deal with both Jirard’s theft and Emile’s dirty laundry being spilled all over his socials a few weeks apart), but Tim has been a true hero and friend during this whole thing. My respect for him has shot up immensely and I think he’d still have been there for Emile even if he didn’t have to deal with his housing crisis.
And now we’re here. Emile has voiced his side of everything, perhaps being the most vulnerable and brutally honest he’s ever been in his entire career. I wasn’t expecting his statement to be so soon or so long, but that’s Emile for you. He will always go above and beyond in whatever he’s doing, whether it’s talking about his favorite (or least favorite) games of all time or telling us why he did what he did and owning up to it.
Before this statement, I had already resolved to forgive Emile. Of course, I didn’t condone his actions at all (and it seems like he doesn’t, either), but he seemed genuinely repentant and was taking steps to ensure what happened wouldn’t happen again. But now… dang. I would welcome him back in a heartbeat whenever he decides he’s ready to return. He is a changing (note the word choice) man, determined to treat his depression and his mental health as needed.

Emile did not deserve this, the pain and suffering he went through because of this is far greater than any he inflicted on them

I feel bad jumping the gun on the allegations, it hurts when the other side is actually a good side, I feel bad that this has turned Chugga away from making content, something he's done for years with no issue until now. I think it's important if someone feels uncomfortable to speak up about it, and presenting content for how things happen should be understood, cutting context can be something people take negatively when it comes to something as serious as SA or pedophilia. Like nobody here is innocent but all of this is simply verbal nothing's actually physical, which makes me feel even more that this shouldn't have been a public drama.
We've reached the point where we cant even trust and depend on our significant other whom we might even be ENGAGED TO BE MARRIED TO!! If we do just a tiny little thing wrong we'll be labelled a "terrible person" or in (you know who's) exact words, "not a good person" which turned out to be a complete lie.

But I can see why Chuggaa wanted to stop. All the drama soured it for him, and he expressed it in unhealthy ways. It's not a matter of kink shaming. It's just that it was best for HIM to stop, so that nothing like this ever happens again, and that he's never reminded of this traumatic experience.

I think its within chugga's right to forgive these two women, I wont take that from him. But the rest of the world won't now that they've seen the truth. I don't think harassing them is good, but to say to respect them is unreasonable. People don't like liars and clout chasers, which is exactly why these two women came out with this information in the first place. I don’t understand why people are saying Chugga is totally innocent because Lady Emily stretched the truth, as if she’s the only person involved in the situation and Masae and him didn’t have a relationship for 10 years, where he (by his own words) pushed the boundaries of it constantly. This isn’t just between him and Emily, Masase and Lawly are also people that came out. Not to mention in the doc and in his comments Emile is constantly saying he’s trying not to excuse himself, and not to harass the other women affected. I don’t really like Lady Emily either after this, but It’s not black and white guys. She’s not the only person affected.
