    Thanks for sharing this.
    My cousins is smoking as well with no fan operation.
    I haven’t had a chance to look at it yet but I’ll apply what I learned here and see if the same applies to his 420.
    I still love the older rancher ES’s 350’s much better.
    Smaller, more square, less electronics and gizmos, Like the Jeep cherokee of Honda’s.

    Does any body know why my 2004 honda foreman 450 es's fan is not kicking in? you connect to ground and it kicks in, as well as replacing the oil temp sensor...

    • @jeffjeff-wc9ze
      @jeffjeff-wc9ze 2 роки тому

      Their is a second sensor up under the front of the machine. It is the fan controller. Part# 35250-HN4-670. The oil temp sensor you replaced sends a signal to the fan controller and the fan controller is what turns the fan on. These get full of condensation and fail quite regularly. If you look up the wiring harness on the parts diagram on Partzilla you will find it in the top left of the diagram. This part fails more often then the temp sensor. It is very accessible through the left side above the tire. It's a true 5 minute fix. Just a snap in wire connector and a plastic pin.

    What caused the fan to go bad? Did you have water and mud in the vent line?

    • @TynkaTyme
      @TynkaTyme  3 роки тому +1

      I actually bought it smoking very bad, i didn’t realize the fan was bad until i took it on a ride after rebuilding the top end. The fan was seized, and when i tried to move it by hand you could hear all the dirt sand in the fan assembly. I think the previous owner sunk it and it was just a matter of the water dirt and sand in the fan that caused it to seize up.

    I have a honda rancher 350TM 2x4, it runs great for an hour, when fired up in the morning it runs at it's set idle which I have as low, I run it around for 10 minutes, sets in neutral, no the idle is high, I can run this quad around for about 30 minutes, then it sputters with the gas down when riding, then shuts off, once trying to start it again, it starts are idles but when I give it gas it spits and sputters to a stop, the quad sat for 2 years, I cleaned every piece of the carb, I'm thinking it might need a carb rebuilt kit which I have ordered but what do you think is wrong?

    • @TynkaTyme
      @TynkaTyme  4 роки тому +1

      Joshua Loughry it might be carb related, but it could be so many different things. Might try a new ignition coil. Sounds like once it heats up, the coil might be breaking down and the heat might get the coil hot enough to mess with the spark it’s creating. Just a guess though. It’s either a fuel issue or spark issue.

      @@TynkaTyme I just replaced the spark plug so probably carb or coil

    Hi Tynka Tyme, how did you find out it was the fan the problem ?

    • @TynkaTyme
      @TynkaTyme  3 роки тому

      Temp light came on. First thing i did was put 12v to the fan to test it. When 12v was applied directly to fan, nothing happened so that told me Fan was bad

      @@Kickstartyourcar yes sir! Check fuse box first for burnt fuse. Then test fan. If fan turns on when u put 12 to it, it’s the sensor on the motor

      @@TynkaTyme Hi again Sir :) I found the problem I think, the fan was replaced when= ?? buy a after market and one of the connectors was disconnected.
      Does your bike's fan starts when you turn the key on on position when the bike is cold ? mine nothing happens, but with 12 volts it's noisy ( I'll order a new one )
      Thank you
