- Today we will make an easy beginner leather project. This tooled pancake sheath can be made from small pieces of leather. It is easy to adjust the knife sheath size for knives larger and smaller. The leather that I used today is pre-dyed Vegtan leather from Montana Leather. The vaqueta leather cuts, tooled, and finishes nice. The vaqueta leather is available in six colors and with all colors available in 3-5 ounce and 8-9 ounce weights. This allows you to get the right weight for your project. You can purchase the leather in full sides or smaller panels to save money by matching your project needs.

Montana Leather has been in business since 1908. Montana Leather provides great customer service and most of my orders have shipped the same day.

Just wanted to say, Happy Mother’s Day to your wife and your mother. 👋
Thanks Noel! Both are special ladies. Mom is 96!!
Wow. 96. 👍🏻
Nice to see that new knife at work.
Still gaining skills with it.
Nice project Robert. I like the fact that you can tool the pre-dyed leather you are using. The tooling on the front turned out well. Keep it up and you'll eventually cause me to get up enough courage to start to learn some simple tooling. You are definitely an inspiration for me!
Glad to hear. It’s still a bit challenging. I just keep remembering my first projects. Nothing beats time with tools in hand.
Using all the tools today! It turned out great!
Thanks. It’s crazy how many are needed at times.
Nice recovery Robert
Thanks Wayne! I hope you have a great weekend!
Nice project
Thanks!
Love mine!
That’s great to hear! Thanks for commenting.
That's one sharp oblong punch.
It is. I have to be careful not to mark the leather where I don’t want it marked.
Very nice knife sheath, well done 👍🏻
Thanks Jonas! Hope you are doing well.
@@InMyBusyLittleShop my reumatism is really bad right now but next week i going to the dr and do some tests and see what he can do to help me , and thx for asking 🙏take care and hope you have a day
@@jonas-mb6cfI will pray that they have an answer.
Ground beef. :)
Yup!
You only lose a tool when you need it the most!🤣🤣😂
That’s for sure.
If I may ask what is the knife at the beginning of the video that you carry? Thanks
It’s only special because it was a gift from a co-worker when I retired. It’s a Kershaw 1555Ti it’s been a good knife. Have been carrying since 2017.
My problem with these sheaths is that I am afraid the knife will fall out during your daily routine. (unnoticed) I would like to see other comments on this, nothing worse than grabbing for a tool and it is gone!.
That’s for sure. I have one made from lighter weight leather and it still holds well two years later. I do see some that really stick out of the top. I do wonder more about those.
I have used my sheath every day for about the past 6+ months and never once has my knife even come close to falling out it is absolutely awesome.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors that’s great!
