might the riders choose the smoother line to preserve energy for the rest of the track? or are they all just beasts and choose what they think is faster?
Some food for thought once again with the talk of travelling to new locations. Something that popped into my head that I'm not sure of. Do venues approach the UCI or do the UCI approach the venues? I've always got the impression from DH that the venues have to apply to be selected? Is that right? I was thinking of the EWS where it seems that they actively seek out new and further afield locations. I may be totally wrong with my assumptions, but do the world cup organisers need a kick up the arse to bring us an all encompassing world cup that actually covers the globe? The riders love it, the fans love it, surely it would be a good move? p.s. in before anyone says I'm salty cos I don't have a world cup in my country, I'm in Scotland
Some of the states in the US are about the same size of some European countries. You could have several stops in America, like California, Colorado and Utah. I love to see 3 stops or more here like mx/sx. This is just my selfish vision being a big fan of DH along with SX and MX. Have a full plate of 2 wheeled racing if you're a Yank.
Hi ben! Im one of the trails boy here in val di sole i saw you at the hell section, what do you think about the track this year and what can be done on the track? More bikepark style sections? Or more rocks :-D.? Glad to see you and If you want to ride here just let me know! Great video!
Also, Luca saying it would be too stressful/not enough time to change tires, wouldn't they just have a spare set of wheels set up with the other tires just incase? Then it's just a quick wheel swap surely? That's the setup I had when racing mx.
Excellent stuff. Maybe its time to have/hire a helper and setup 2 or 3 cameras for ghost comparisons (in one section). Having more sections would be even better. Any chance of getting Redbull footage from the training/quali?
With the line choice at the end, I wonder how fatigue comes into it on a track like this one? I could see how saving some energy on the smooth wide line would equate to more energy for rough sections down the trail.
With regards to changing tyres last minute, why not have a second set of wheels(with mud tyres) with you at the top so you can just swap wheels? And maybe swap rotors quick if that's an issue.
After watching the louic\brosnan interview I can understand why some of his team weren't best pleased with everything he had to say .I wonder if this affected his race run and is this his final year with canyon ? Great rider great guy and whilst I agree with what he had to say I can understand the internal grumblings
Yeah! rad! thanks for making the question! So! actualy it is a free choice fro riders to wear protection! I would say there would be a minimum compulsory protection. So what are you wearing? for me I do Enduro riding not racing and I just wear Helmet and kneepads.
Good morning guys of the val di Sole world cup and good program the #CATHRO VISIÓN sig sey yeeeaaa in thes competencis and session's of rider's of Downhill bike's Cya from the Santig of Chile 🇨🇱 nice day ☝️ 😀 ☝️ ♥️ 🇺🇲 💯👍🚴🚵🚲📹😮☝️♥️🤣👍♥️💯♥️
most of the australians dont wear armour because its so fucking hot, if you do you will die of dehydration, so it feels really unnatural when you put it on in colder climates
Am I one of the only people who realised how cleanly Ben placed the Patreon Questions banner?
You backed Laurie 👍

Both. Depends on the rider.
Love the coverage - even if I don't watch them until after the race, I still watch all your videos from the weekend. Great analysis and coverage.
I'm generous for you Cathro! You're a legend, I think these videos get better every. single. week.
I do like apples but right now I'm enjoying strawberrys with my portage at the moment.

@Ganiscol This is true, but tracks could be designed and developed. Look at all the mountains in those three states, so many possibilities.
I'm addicted to watching #CathroVision

They have spare wheels but there must not have even been time for a wheel swap.
Great as usual cathro can’t wait for lenzerheid
Bring the World Cup to Asia(Japan/Indonesia/Philippines/Thailand) and South America.
Surprised you didn't milk the winning rider prediction a little there Ben 😉 Excellent stuff as ever.
