UPDATE: For those of you who want to see more videos like this one. This is BY FAR the least watched video I've made in a long time. We'll see if it picks up traction later but for now it looks like most of the audience is not interested in this type of video being on my channel. I enjoy doing them but if people aren't going to watch then I have no choice. Maybe I do a second channel just for stories like this.
I think some other topics are quick to catch casual fans eyes and also go viral, while these videos are for the ones that love the game and it's stories above all the soap opera drama. Don't get discouraged looking only at the views. This type of videos might not be as watched but are the ones that built your channel up and help to create a real community. It don't always have to be views above quality
You can get surgery to correct your vision (actually in the army I know every pilot is required to get lasik, idk about airline pilots tho) it’s laser surgery. My brother legit does it for a living it’s kinda cool
I played with bad vision until I was 27, and then it just became so bad I couldn't see the rim. Then I sacked up and learned to put contacts in and couldn't BELIEVE the difference it made. Trust me, being able to see the freaking rim is very important xD
One of my favorite videos he posted a year or two ago was the story of that Minnesota Timberwolves security guard, the one who tackled that oil protester in the playoffs
One of my favorite all time players is Jason Williams. I love seeing people in that mold (LaMelo Ball, Tyrese Halliburton) who play with flash and flair. I hope he does well!
I have a former highschool teammate that played with Jason in college. Crazy to say I have a friend who played with him! I even got to see him play live while he was in college.
You’re the best NBA content creator in my yt algorithm. The others sound like they’re reading off a script. I’m sure you have a script too but you sound passionate in every sentence. Keep it up.
I was wondering where I recognized this guy from, then I realized he was on my rival team in highschool! Anfernee Simons was on my schools team (Edgewater) and Jason Preston was on Boone. Good times watching young Ant. Best of luck to this guy, amazing story.
I saw your plea for us to watch this video and tell you if there's something wrong to get to bottom of why people aren't watching. I think it's just the time of the year, plus the Olympics, plus the player of team not being too relevant to most NBA enthusiasts. Before people complain, I'm not dissing The Jazz, I actually like the team, and they have their fans and all, but the league has many other teams and not everyone follows multiple teams. Thanks for making videos around the game that are interesting "Be roll" stories for us to have the extra storylines when watching games.
Fellow Bobcat alum as Jason is. I never overlapped in school with him but he was absolutely the face of OU’s basketball program in the time he was there. That 2021 team upsetting Virginia also had future Virginia player Ben Vander Plas as well as current Alabama guard Mark Sears. Anyways, he’s a class act and his back story is inspiring in how much he’s overcome. The AT&T commercial was the start but I hope they make a movie out of his life, even if he plays sparingly NBA minutes. The guy is a bonafide all G League point guard but needs to be given minutes at NBA level. Hard when he’s considered basically as an insurance policy but he’s the kinda guy you throw challenges at and he’ll figure out a way to come out on top.
Really enjoyed this video. I watch all of your videos but i think this type is my favorite. Learning about what led players to the league especially guys like this that wouldn't of made it if things didnt go right. I'm kinda curious about the opposite now. Guys that had everything going for them and shouldve been decent players but it didnt work out that way.
And this is why the current system that decides whether players are worthless if they're not in the league at 20 is so flawed. Lots of these kids are still developing and have something to offer. I HAAAAATE the Lakers, but I'm rooting for Dalton Knecht.
“I was seeing 3 hoops out there so I shot at the middle one” “I was seeing 3 guys in the corner so I just threw it to the one in the middle” Playing with bad eyesight is insanity 😭😭
For me i think it was a dement video but i like more were you tell abaut what the team can do like with trade or sign in free agaensie. Keep upp the great work
I live in La when I first saw bro playing I was like wtf when did melo come back home and why didn’t I hear of this trade but then I realized it’s a whole different dude and when I found out who he was I was hella confused to see him on a Microsoft commercial I’m like how does he have a commercial and doesn’t even play.
Hey AM! Not much thought into this, but I don't think the cover of the video draws enough "clickbait". Even putting a mystery player image or something that isn't entirely a player most don't know. (Came from todays video)
“Fundamental” coaches are the downfall of so many talented athletes. I watched it growing up my entire life, the same kids that would dominate in every pick up game against every level of competition, would be reduced to “practicing X drill” to appease the coaches. I knew the system was BS when our long time coach got injured, and had a new coach step in my junior year. He wasn’t familiar with any players on the team, so he came in with his “own way of doing things” and benched me at the start of a game (the teams #1 WR at the time) for not “running hard enough in practice”. He didn’t like the form I used, and the fact that I wasn’t giving my all in practice, which turned in to an argument, which turned in to us losing by 21 points after we only scored 7 while I sat on the bench the entire game. I wasn’t the only talented player on the team he targeted during his few months running our team either. At least 7 of us got benched for trivial things smh

i dig it. the algo sometimes doesn't push certain videos so i'll have to comeback and watch later when i go through channels individually
It just wasn't recommended to me last night for some reason. I def would have watched it earlier
It’s the algorithm bro. I didn’t get this recommendation!!! I always get your vids. Don’t doubt yourself, no need for a 2nd channel.
that would be dope
When AM hopps makes a video that is NOT about news but it's a story about a player's life that is his BEST kind of videos
Or if they explain a controversial topic.
@@buzzerbeater3350 agree ! (news is the bag tho sadly so i get it)
@KYtimes2He literally said what type of content he believes AM doesn’t do well what are you on about?
Facts because i’ve never even heard of this guy before!
@KYtimes2are u gay? 😭
making it to the leauge with bad vision is wildd 😭
i don’t think it makes a huge difference if ur used to it, donovan mitchell said he has a terrible vision but still plays without contacts
Curry has keratoconus, I do as well. Its shocking he does what he does prior to getting his contacts....
I can’t shoot when I put my glasses on 😂😂 it’s weird guess just use to playing without them
"It is never too late to chase your dreams" ❤️
Casey bringing back the players story to the NBA, Love it!
One of my favorite videos he posted a year or two ago was the story of that Minnesota Timberwolves security guard, the one who tackled that oil protester in the playoffs
What a cool story. I hope he becomes a superstar
The premature ball brother
And somehow LASIK is the craziest part of this whole story. Bro was balling at 480p all the way to the NBA.
I remember last off season these type of videos didn't get as much traction so I'm commenting to help the engagement. Love the content
AM Hoops backstory vids are the best thats what actually got me into your channel
Great underdog story. Who won't love those, who won't cheer for this guy? I'm already a fan. Tks for bringing this to my attention 💪🏻🔥🔥🔥
Low key he been my favorite player since me and my son saw him play the Blue when he played for the Memphis Hustle...
Another amazing STORIES
You’re the best NBA content creator in my yt algorithm. The others sound like they’re reading off a script. I’m sure you have a script too but you sound passionate in every sentence. Keep it up.
Flightmike sounds like he’s just reading on his videos.
I was wondering where I recognized this guy from, then I realized he was on my rival team in highschool!

Respect to Jason
This is why i love am hoops vids like these almost make me cry w vid
these kinds of videos are lowkey underrated, i don't get why people never watch these
I really love these kind of stories. Thanks a lot. Now I’m Rooting for him🎉🎉🎉
More of this content we need absolutely ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Fantastic story! Thanks Casey! Hope that Jason has a successful year!
I'm watching this because you referred to it in your Embiid video! Did not regret the watch. Great story
Great lessons from this kid. Never too late if you get the lasic surgery or quit being stubborn and wear contacts!! 😂
3:53 I've heard that he didnt get bumped down but delibetatley went to the C team just to get more playing time and more tape for scouts
LOVE this kind of content from you, keep it up
i adore these off season stories
The Pistons? Enough said. I already like this kid. He is now one of my favorite players outside of the Pistons.
Good for him man, great video!
More of this content please! ❤
Great story keep them coming
I saw this him in an AT&T commercial. I didn’t know if it was a real story. Nice video, I came to watch after your suggestion.
wow, what a story. should be a movie
🙏🏾🙏🏾God is Good
Amazing work by Jason and also from Casey everything about this video is so inspiring
I showed my son this one. Great story 👍🏾
Jason Preston and JD Davis are GOAT backup PG on 2k 😂
I was about to say lol. I just signed him on MyGM.
I saw your plea for us to watch this video and tell you if there's something wrong to get to bottom of why people aren't watching.

I feel like a dinosaur always assuming Melo refers to Carmelo instead of Lamelo
one of your best video
Excellent content pal, keep smashing it
Am hoops is the man
These are the types of people we need to highlight over trouble makers
bro took KG's advice to heart
Great story ! Love your vidéo !
Incredible story!
Catching the ball mid air and making the pass for the assist while still in the air is just insane lol

They will make a movie on Jason Preston years from now, even if he never plays another min in the NBA!!!
Really enjoyed this video. I watch all of your videos but i think this type is my favorite. Love this kinda video !
very very coo. thanks for the great story
This is "Rudy" level inspiring, but with tremendous upside.
Imagine averaging less than this man’s senior year in college and still get drafted with the 55 with a 8 million guaranteed contract 😂
Great story, really inspiring :)
And this is why the current system that decides whether players are worthless if they're not in the league at 20 is so flawed. Lots of these kids are still developing and have something to offer. I HAAAAATE the Lakers, but I'm rooting for Dalton Knecht.
I would like to say that I didn't get a notice about this video, so only getting to watch it now.
Great story!!!
“I was seeing 3 hoops out there so I shot at the middle one”
“I was seeing 3 guys in the corner so I just threw it to the one in the middle”
Playing with bad eyesight is insanity 😭😭
Pure hooper right here. If I can't play ball, I'll write about it.
He went from 6 foot to 6 foot 4 , what an inspirationnal story
@AmHoopesGiveaway it was a joke, love your Channel tough, especially when you talk about less known players
I love that kind of content! Great basketball story!
Watching from the philippines
Peak Video from AM Hoops
Honestly did not know about Jason Presley or his history till now.
If you're tall, can shoot, pass, dribble, defend, and make plays consistently, anything is possible
@AmHoopesGiveawayy ok where's the prize
More of this 🔥
Maaan, Jason's story is a good plot for a movie.
Great video but since you ask about feedbacks, I personally prefer video about news going on around the league like you usually do
Fire video. Killing it
People, lest give some love to this stories, I love them. Is not all about the stars.
Great story and video to match
I hope to see that kid become a solid player. Awesome story!
That fact people keep referring to lamelo as melo is straight up blasphemes, this how we gonna forget the OG Melo
Will make an awesome movie one day!
Ngl at first I thought it was a roughed up Lamelo.
Bronny: "too bad for you, right dad"
For me i think it was a dement video but i like more were you tell abaut what the team can do like with trade or sign in free agaensie.
Keep upp the great work
Great video
Next 2K story line looks 🔥👀
I dont feel bad skipping the underdog adds because I live in Nevada.
I live in La when I first saw bro playing I was like wtf when did melo come back home and why didn’t I hear of this trade but then I realized it’s a whole different dude and when I found out who he was I was hella confused to see him on a Microsoft commercial I’m like how does he have a commercial and doesn’t even play.
i just turned 30 man. i stopped playing organize ball at 23. got recruited at 21. yea playign any typa pro ball is off the table at this point lol
I like this kind of content. Very inspirational
No shot this dude was playing without glasses for most of his career
this video is awesome unfortunately most feel good stories aren't popular..
I like feel good stories like this
@AmHoopesGiveaway pathetic scammers man.
great story dawg
Hey AM! Not much thought into this, but I don't think the cover of the video draws enough "clickbait". Even putting a mystery player image or something that isn't entirely a player most don't know. (Came from todays video)
What an amazing story
Reminds me of Feature Fridays.
“Fundamental” coaches are the downfall of so many talented athletes. I watched it growing up my entire life, the same kids that would dominate in every pick up game against every level of competition, would be reduced to “practicing X drill” to appease the coaches. I love am hoops bru
So Jason is basically Lamelo in an alternate reality
Imagine… the difference was probably just him choosing not to correct his vision 😂 I’d wear the goggles everyday if I could get a shot in the league!
Tatum benched last game , need a vid bout that👀
Loved this
Me in 2040 when my kid says Lebron played aganist podcasters and bloggers
