    one thing I've notice with some NBA players sons like Kiyan, Alijah Arenas and even Tahj Ariza is that there not the most psychically dominant players yet their way more skillful then other players. That's real interesting to me I'm guessing their dads are teaching them how to be good without hiding behind height or weight and strength until they bulk up in college or the leauge.

    • @dasupremegentlelad4321
      @dasupremegentlelad4321 4 місяці тому +5

      Well they only one who ever used their weight anyways was Melo and ariza got more muscular in the nba. So it's not really surprising their kids look really lean.

      I think its because they grew up rich and wealthy. They play like rich white boys. I think this is one reason the league is softer now, it used to be a lot of inner city kids or poor kids from Alabama who were struggling and had to make it to support their family and friends. They were tough, and fight in them.
      These guys from the past made the NBA, and made a fortune. Because of the immense wealth they made their kids grew up like royalty. This was not as true for prior generations of NBA players (though it was a little, but not nearly to the degree it is now).
      Today's NBA is now more akin to lords and monarchs who's kids just assume and expect to be in the NBA, and who's fathers can afford to pay nearly unlimited money and time to make it happen. Combine the near unlimited wealth and focused training with the DNA advantage of having an NBA father, and it is creating a new type of NBA that is honestly not as fun to root for.
      The Royals in this new NBA don't have very much to gain, they are already incredibly wealthy. They don't mind if they sit out games for 'load management'. They will justify it by saying its for the betterment of the team in the long run, but it belies a less competitive spirit as well as betraying a more lackadaisical attitude around simply wanting to play basketball competitively. Kobe and Jordan might often feel slight injuries or whatever, but they desired and even needed to play basketball. They were going to feel worse sitting out, than playing with an injury. Sitting out a game was not something they would willingly do unless they absolutely could not play. Many of today's players seem like they are just as happy not playing for the most part.
      They come off as aloof and distant and mostly fairly unlikable. It feels like they simply presume and expect their position in life; that they are not grateful for where they are or how they ended up winning the lottery that is their life.
      They are not poor kids coming up from a hopeless background, fighting against all odds to make it to the NBA so that they can allow their mother and Grandmother to retire after a lifetime of blue collar work and toil. These kids already had it made before they even picked up a basketball. There is no tension, they don't care if they miss games, or get bounced from the playoffs. They have bizarre and ill informed opinions about prior NBA players. Why would people want to root for them like they rooted for players in the past? Their stories are not sympathetic or heroic. Basketball is fun to watch still, but its not nearly as enjoyable to root for most of the players like it used to be.

    It’s like the role players from the past have superstar talent sons while it’s in reverse when the dad is a superstar 😂. It’s almost like if your dad was a role-player the son is almost guaranteed to be better than the dad. The only person I can see breaking this is possibly Gilbert Arena’s kid or or even Carmelo’s kid

    Example: Waltons-Dad (Bill > Luke), Barrys (Rick>John,Brent,Scooter), Griffey, Hull, Guerraro, to name a few.

    2:53 Apparently: It already started when late career Kobe couldn't match Wizards Jordan in terms of mid range accuracy, but has Jordan beat on 3 point accuracy and volume.
    Kobe also had more major injuries than Jordan, so Kobe couldn't drive or use change-of-speed to get past defenders as easily as Jordan did.

Granted if Arvydas Sabonis was allowed to play in the NBA in his prime, there's no doubt he would have been a multi time all star. Also Jalen Rose probably should have been an all star at some point during his prime. My money is on Carlos/Cam Boozer being the first.
