- Rivet Thames has burst its banks living us in a dangerous situation. Watch to see how we are dealing with the flood. Our Narrowboat is floating high above the bank and walking on a path we can't see the edge. One of the narrowboats down the river has sunk last night, this is getting really serious.

I’ve thought of you two so many times this week and hoped all was OK but boy that water has come up even more. You looked like you were walking on water when you went for a stroll. Thanks guys for a great interesting vlog its definitely frightening when the water rises on the River, l live a few miles from the famous Ironbridge where the river Severn flows and the flood barriers are are up. The water current flows so fast at these times but there's always a few who take advantage to practice there sport, great ariel shot from the drone showing the extent of the flooding. Take care when ur out and about on ur strolls.

Just firstly off. To clean you glass on you fire white or malt vinegar will clean it beautifully. All the birds are enjoying the little lakes. I have been so concerned and worried for you both with the floods. If you have no rain for the next week the water should recede now. The joys of Henley in flood. Marsh meadows are a flood plane and are meant to flood! Glad to see them work. the best advise is to pop up to Marsh lock and make friends with the lockie, he'll be happy to advise on conditions.

What an adventure so interesting ! You are very brave to spend winter on the Thames ! A friend of ours some years ago woke up to find himself and his boat in the middle of of a field! I don’t know if you know this but if you make a paste with the ash and water and use it to clean the fire stove window , it is vey effective. Also the chimney sweep told us that as we use so much wood for our fire it can clog up the chimney and cause a fire , so it needs to be cleaned after every winter . This is because we don’t get coal here .

Wow! That rose quickly! Please stay safe 🙏. I was watching another narrowboat vlogger who is moored on the River Trent ( I think) which is also seriously flooded. Joe walked from his parents house to check on his boat; he wore waders that came up to his upper-chest and the breached water came up to his waist! Fortunately the boat was safe but my heart was in my mouth just watching as he wasn't wearing a life jacket. Hopefully the next time we see you both the Thames will be better behaved!!!

I guess the knots for the mooring rope are on the deck end, otherwise they'd be under water. How often do you have to slacken them ?
Flood plains are wonderful for massively increasing capacity. It looks like you've got two River Thames worth of water there, so the height increase should slacken off.

The water levels look dodgy in Henley. Take care walking about. I'm down at Shepperton and the lock here has been on yellow boards for 2 days now. Suggests the worst is over and you should see the river fall where you are soon.
Guess anticipating the flooding for a couple of weeks and being well prepared helped you stay so calm

I think you guys need some walking sticks for these flooding scenarios so you dont walk into the deep bits or into the river 🤔 👍.
Currently here in Newbury today there is a boat stuck fast across the sluice near the wharfe due to the pressure and rate of the water going through the sluice 😟.

When I was in my early teens, I was walking past a flooded field, flooded from the Thames, and noticed it had frozen over. Checked to see if it was thick enough, found it was, so went home to get my skates. Spent a couple of hours skating in moonlight on a cold, frosty night.
Went back down the next day, but found the water had dropped, with no water under the ice, the river can drop quite quickly.
We call our planet Earth, but the planet has more water than land. We should call our planet Oceania or something like that. Stay safe

You need to be careful walking so close to the river. You should take a stake with you to measure the distance from the bank and depth of water
Remember in summer when we had a heatwave and they told us it would take 10 years for water levels to recover 😂😂😂😂
