Actually this is never gonna happen, CPU frequencies aren't getting much higher for like a decade (my 2,8 GHz Athlon 64 X2 5600+ still serves, and it's over half the frequency of the CPU in the video, and it wasnt even the highest clocked CPU back then) because when you're getting higher than 1-2 GHz, the linear increase in frequency means exponential increase in design difficulty, which doesn't pay off at all with performance.

I bet that secret EK device is a Thermo-electric cooler that “chills” the liquid in the loop, and I’m guessing the software you’re using is probably the EK control logic that monitors the liquid temp and relative humidity to ensure that the chilled temps stay under the dew point to avoid condensation. It’s the only extreme cooling solution in that small of a footprint that would bring your temps down to 1 degree or whatever below ambient temperature I think I saw on your screen.

Nah, chilling the water just dont work. You lose all that in the radiator. It would have to be a dual loop to make that happen. 1 loop for the chilled water just circulating between the cold side of the tecs and the cpu. And a hot side loop going to the radiator. This is pointless too tho, because TECs are so innefficient. So a proper chiller made with phasechange technology is WAY better(and actually works)

@@ThePentosin the radiator wont expunge cold air, cold doesnt actually exist it is just the absence of heat, so for the radiator to get rid of the cold it would have to be heating it up, thats what radiators do, they bring in warm water and take away the heat making it cooler, if its always cool you never have to take away the heat. science

It's some funk TEK tech, 100%. No other way a water cooling loop is gonna get you to 4-0°C on idle.

I'm 99% sure it's some kind of thermoelectric cooling - the thing they didn't show is hot side. He was worried about PSU because cooler with hot side that big will be using few hundreds Watts by itself
He mentioned a PCI power cord. It's likely a Peltier module.

Nah they probably got one or two. After each build they do, unless they're going to actually use it for something or give it out, they tear it back down and put the parts back in storage. Wouldn't make any sense economically to go around buying like, 6 different RTX 3000 series GPUs and building six PCs with them, then KEEPING them all.

"Video Speed Controller" chrome extension goes up in 0.10x increments (starts at 0.07x), Then 0.10x, 0.20x, 0.30x.... etc upto 16.00x.
Combine that with the normal youtube speeds of 0.25x incremants, You can do say 1.25x and then do -0.10 and end up at 1.15 OR go up to 1.55x, 1.65x, 1.75x... and so on.
I watched some of this at 2.5-3x because its a bit weak.

I'm pretty sure that block has some sort of integrated peltier module. Those things can easily draw a few hundred watts. That's why he was so concerned so much about the 1600w psu being enough

I was very disappointed with their TEC attempts...
They never attempted to peltier cool water after it had already been brought near ambient by a radiator to go sub-ambient..
Alex is an engineer he should be able to think that far!
I believe the water block in this video was made with an internal peltier that cools the water coming in and expels the heat back into the water after it has cooled the CPU.
@@williamhansen9456 That's an interesting idea but it's unlikely to make much difference, the cooling system as a whole unit is limited by the radiator.
This is ignoring the bit about going sub-ambient, as soon as you drop below the dew point it becomes a huge PITA. Way back in the Pentium 1-3 and early AMD Socket A days friend and I ventured down that path, I've still got the peltier and the Alpha HS I bought with it in a cupboard with other old hardware. I came to the conclusion it wasn't worth the effort but my mate pushed on. He bought dielectric grease and filled his m/b socket with it because the condensation would form on the bottom of the CPU, then the system would crash.
@@Cluuey well.. with those aquarium coolers they used the peltier heat isn't added to the system.
And in the CPU water block, yes, you would be limited by the radiator in some sense, but a 4x rad alone won't do better than a 3x rad for cooling a sole CPU while a 4x + peltier can.
And condensation won't form unless you go at least 6 degrees below ambient.. you can go further if the humidity is low...
