@Hansy I'm sure Jake respects Linus as lot, and the same is most likely true the other way around as well.
It's just that we're living in 2022, where respect can be expressed in other ways beyond "yes sir", "hello sir" or "please excuse the fact that a lowly peasant such as myself exists and bothers you with my presence". For instance, I respect my dad very much, yet I still joke with him or taunt him. And because he's not a stubborn old fart, he doesn't mind it either.

@@DonnyStanley . I disagree. Much like this is not some “tech startup” this isn’t some single UA-camr making content. This is a production company.
It’s not “Fast” at all. It’s reasonably if not cautiously paced, completely understandable in how they have parlayed their UA-cam success into other related ventures.
I am guessing people have not been paying attention to when Linus actually talks about his companies growth. He has inferred that he could have grown faster by taking VC money.
If you think 7-14 years is fast growth, long exactly would you think “fast” growth be in the content creation initially centred around UA-cam? Do you think this growth should have taken 30 years????
Also, somehow you think that recognizing the pace of growth not being “fast” is equates to a lack of success, where in fact it’s the exact opposite given how he chose to grow the company. It’s been slow and steady and I think it’s been the right move for long term stability.

@9:48 about trade law: a company I worked for had someone with 30 years of experience of import export and forgoten more about those kind of things than most people will ever know. Someone in management thought that he was old business and they cut his position and fired him. In a week after he left every last import was stuck in limbo and everyone building the product suddenly had no work. 3 months of nothing coming in because people didn't know how to do trade law stuff they rehired the guy at four times his salary but he only came in two days a week from now on. The Monday after he showed up a dozen semis showed up and they started shipping packages again out the door keeping the business afloat. The people that do import/export stuff can be so valuable.

Because it's all a bunch of Nerds doing it, that's why. You probably had a couple nerds involved with the TV productions. Everyone is a Nerd at LTT even the people on camera. They're gonna pick the best of the best they can afford or the most efficient and they're gonna run things and develop them that way. That's how Nerds work. Most people don't think or operate this way.

The first I watched this channel was over 10 years ago when Linus was still working for NCIX and unboxing razer mouses and subscribed. As kid at the time, it was mind blowing at the time that one normal guy on a UA-cam was showing off all these cool tech and I was mind blown. Fast forward now, not only at my amazed at how consistent and open this channel is to this very day, but how inspiring it is to see someone so passionate and dedicated to their hobby is something that truly touches my heart. Not only does he have a very good relationship to his staff, but also remains to keep everyone (the viewers, his clients and partners) happy. All in all, keep up the good work.

      Def. Not.
Linus have managed to find a lot of great people. Not trying to take anything away from them. I even think someone like i.e. Jake is a great little gadget hacker (just look at Linus' new house) - but Cyber Security is at another, and very, very specialized level where no one from LTT comes close.
And then - why should they? LTT have little use for it and it's not content they cover.
But they should probably hire a full time supporter to help non-tech staff, so the other tech savvy can spent their time on more value adding things.
