When I was a kid I was really afraid of cursing but I loved NSP so I'd rewrite all their songs into cereal-themed parodies in a notebook and called them Ninja Chex Party. I don't know when else I could possibly share this information

Also, for the history, Chex Quest was originally included for free in boxes of Chex cereal as a prize in the box to promote sales of the cereal. It was included on a CD alongside a trial for AOL and was actually made in the Doom engine, it was basically a Doom mod with the Chex flair added to keep it kid friendly. It was widely considered to be one of the most effective marketing campaigns of the time and increased sales of the cereal dramatically. It was incredibly short, but it was free and fun, and spawned 2 direct sequels, both of which were downloadable through the Chex website and weren't included with the cereal. Chex Quest HD (this one) was made significantly later, didn't really follow the original games levels or structure, changed the art style and added multiplayer, it was a download code included with Chex Mix, which is indeed what this version was promotion. But it's pretty much agreed that this version was nowhere near as successful as the original game.
Damn it was a free dowload code? I got my copy on Switch.

Arin going on his tangent about being vegetarian really speaks to me, as one who's working on lowering his cholesterol. I haven't cut meat out of my diet or anything, but I've notably reduced my fast food intake, I go on walks every day, I take supplements recommended by my doctor, and I've lost weight since the last time I officially checked, so I'm proud of the results that have come about.

You have got to moderate what you eat. Do not overeat, do not UNDEReat. Get some walking in, stay active. If you supplant most of your diet with meat and forego veggies and fiber etc, then yeah, your body is going to have a hard time processing those proteins over and over and over in mass quantities. Also that being said, like Arin said don't feel BAD about what you eat!

I'm pretty sure seed oils are ok for you in normal amounts, it's really the things those oils are used in that are bad more so than the oils themselves.

I DID want to mention, in the sake of countering misinformation, that seed oils are not bad for you. Not worse than any other oil. Turns out when you deep fry things they are bad for you, and they are often deep fried in seed oils. Thats where that misconception comes from.

I think I read something once that said the oil itself can be good for you, but deep fried foods are always bad for you, and that it might be because heating the oils to such high temperatures can turn them into trans fats.

On the topic of vegetable oils being bad for you, they're not. That's just misinformation being passed around on the internet. The belief is tied to the fact that vegetable oils can often be found in a lot of deep-fried and ultra-processed foods, but the oils themselves are fine in moderation
What's bad with seed oils? They have a lot of monounsaturated fats which are healthy. Especially canola oil is good for your heart.
What's wrong with them is Arin was told by the same crowd that says a vegetarian diet is better than a well balanced omnivorous diet that they are "bad"
For one thing: Game Gyaru is top notch
And two, "We would have ordinary sausage on the show but we are out of ideas for more sausages" *laughs uproariously at the years of sausaging things that should NOT be sausage*

I remember playing the original Chex Quest way back in the day, when I was a kid. It came right in the bag of cereal itself, packaged in it's own separate little protective baggy, which was naturally covered in chex dust. I had never played DOOM, and the original Chex Quest was among my very first video games ever- I think the sound effects are still zorched into my permanent memory, even all these years later.
You know it's a good episode, when one of them stops mid sentence and asks, "what are we talking about??!!?"

I worked at a Boy Scout camp after i stopped eating beef and that meant that half my food sucked because scouts love their meats. The vegetarians there had it so hard. Some meals you just have no protein, just noodles and broccoli.
