As a Leafs fan, at this point, Im just counting Woll as the #3 goalie. If he can play games, it's a bonus. He simply can't be relied upon. It's a shame because he has so much potential. But all the talent in the world means nothing if you're always too hurt to play.
Look at Matt Murray. He won two Cups and can't stay off IR. When you're injured as often as he has been, you can't expect your level of play to remain high. I've always felt bad for him. I thought the money goalie that he was showing fans he could be, he was going to lead Canada to the next Olympics one day. Not many goalies peak in their early 20's. His career has been an anomaly.

pretty much, and he can fill in if the habs are injured to shit, which is almost a guarantee at this point. not my first choice, but he works well enough.
gus wouldn't have been my first option, but the habs are familiar with him, and he can fill in in a pinch.
Lindstrom give more option on the right side with the injury to Reinbacher.

Looks like it's more than just STL who are out to mess with the Oilers. The Oilers should just sign a couple more tweeners since they still have 5 available contract spaces.
As a newish hockey fan (2nd full season; thanks shoresy), I love just about every aspect of the game itself and the players’ passions for it.
However, with the constant roster and management and even ownership changes - it feels like that tale of if you change every board on a ship, at what point is it considered a new ship? what exactly is the ship i’m supposed to find to support?
so far, i’m drawn to certain players individually or as groups as well as teams with names or colors I happen to like. but the trades and coach changes just in the past couple years have been staggering. I’m finding it absolutely impossible to pick a favorite team. (I do not find this to be a problem except when daydreaming of what could be “if so and so was still there 🥺” lol)
and that’s not even touching the injuries that just strangle my soul when I think about what those players are going through (and how we still selfishly want them back as soon as humanly possible for the sake of a W - which only feels better knowing how existentially hockey matters to the players - again, thanks shoresy)
Hate to tell you this but the last couple years haven't been that bad. If you're looking for a team to root for don't worry. It will happen. I suggest do what you're doing by following players you like. Watch as much hockey as you can or want to. Before you know it a team will just jump out to you and you'll know it's your team. There is no rule that you have to have a favorite team either.
