I love the Grizzlies and have been going to games for years. I'm hoping the Grizzlies move up and become the AHL affiliate. ECHL players rarely become NHL players, so having them become the AHL team would be great!
Thank you for the comment. That is a very good point. League promotion is a possibility. Maybe some research into. That would be worth it. Grizz up to AHL makes sense. Thanks for watching
The primary development will come from the Tucson Roadrunners. Meruelo still owns the Roadrunners and is currently in development for a new hockey arena in Reno. The Roadrunners currently have a 2 year lease in Tucson with an optional 3rd year. I have a feeling that the Roadrunners will move as soon as the new arena is done. With the NHL you will have prospects in several different leagues. That is why you have the affiliate links in the ECL and will probably have one in the OHL. You have draft picks that are currently playing in the KHL in Russia, in European leagues, and in collegiate teams. That being said the primary development will come from the AHL, currently the Tucson Roadrunners.
In their inaugural season, 1994-95, the Grizzlies were the Denver Grizzlies of the IHL. First in-person games I ever went to, watching Tommy Salo and Ziggy Palffy play, as they were affiliated with the NY Islanders. They moved to Utah the next season because Denver wasn't quite a big enough hockey market yet to support them too after the Nordiques moved here and became the Avs. P.S.- go with Mammoth, Yeti is too closely affiliated with our previous shoulder logo 😁
Thank you for the comment. It’s a big help. Interesting breakdown there. I honestly didn’t know thst the Grizzlies were originally in Denver. Very cool. Mammoth I think would be good but we shall see. Thanks for watching.
This Jets fan says hello. Welcome to the Central Divison, Western Conference everybody. You will enjoy this season, as you are competing in the best and the toughest Divison in the NHL. Arizona was not a good team, but you could see they were getting set to turn the corner. It will be fun to see your season unfold and if you develop a rivalry with another team in the division.
Thank you for for the comment and the warm welcome. Really looking forward to this season and seeing how the team progresses. Look forward to developing a rival or two. There were alot of folks at the intro conference that said Avalanche are going to be a rival, but only time will tell. Thanks for watching
Thank you for the comment. That’s a bit bit picky. it’s not like we got them in the wrong state. Do your basic grammar and capitalize the team name as well as the city. See we can do it too. Thanks for watching
Also, the ECHL no longer stands for East Coast Hockey League. It is just the letters. So you called the league by the wrong name and used the wrong league logo. Please do your research if you're going to cover a sport.
Thank you for the comment. Agreed. It seems like it would be the right move. The Grizzlies have been here for decades it just makes sense. Thanks for watching

This is great insight! Thanks for tuning in and thank you for the comment!

the Tuscon Roadrunners are said to be moving to Reno when the Reno arena is built that is if ever gets built with that Owners track record
Right?! Fair point there. They are 0-3 so far in getting their hockey team a home.
The grizzeles signed the contract in 2018 so if the math is right this should be the last yr for the contract with the aves
Yeah that’s kind of what we were thinking as well, would you want the Grizz to be Utah Hockeys affiliate team? Thanks for watching?
That’s what we were thinking! Would you want them to be the affiliate team of Utah Hockey? Thanks for watching!
could it be that they the Coyotes were already with the Americans last year to be the ECHL team and they filled the roster with some of their players
so geographically Idaho would be a better fit for the ECHL team
Go Roadrunners
Thank you for your comment.
Can't stand the Allen Americans so even though this year they will be affiliated with our new NHL team, won't be rooting for them.
This is actually awesome. How come you don’t like them?? Thanks for watching!!
@@UtahHockeyDNA Lots of bad blood between the Grizzles and the Allen Americans. Allen Americans play dirty, take lots of cheap shots.
Tucson roadrunners please do basic research if your going to cover a sport
