  • This is part 2 of a marine gasoline inboard/sterndrive engine conversion from a mechanical pump to an electric fuel pump. This video show the installation of the sending unit and required oil pressure switch. Stay tuned, part 3 of the wiring installation is in progress.

    I have a 1979 181ci chevy marine. My fuel pump failed and have the only option of replacing with electric fuel pump. Went thru your videos- great info though one thing you did not address was my fuel pump had 3 hoses. One from tank , one to supply carb and another I presume as overflow from carb back to fuel pump. I'm guessing/. what do you do with this line from carb? Cap it off or drain into a reservoir?

      That's a good question, I will do a quick video to explain what that 3rd hose is for and its importance for mechanical pumps. It is a vent hose. You can just cap it off at the carb.
