For the first time on the channel, we are checking out Willie Nelson and Ray Charles as they perform the song "Seven Spanish Angels." I have never heard this tune before, but it definitely moves the soul! I love the vocal contrast between Willie and Ray throughout this performance! I definitely need to dig into the catalogue of both of these amazing artists! Hope you enjoy! #reaction #willienelson #raycharles #countrymusic #countrymusicreactions #liveperformance

Does it get any better than this?! Willie Nelson and Ray Charles at the same piano!!
@setonhillstudios listen to Ray Charles & George Jones,
"We didn't see a thing."
Ray is at the piano again.
Ray loved country music & put out a country album in the 60s.
"Georgia on my mind," was one of the hits. It's cool to see legendary artists from different genres sing duets. Some l liked & others l didn't. I didn't care for Tanya Tucker & James Brown together. I guess l'm to picky. Lol
Ray Charles is his own genre.
This is one of my all time favorite songs. Ray was an absolute legend, a national treasure for sure. He crossed all genres, and was respected by everyone. His version of "America The Beautiful" will chill you to the core.
Both are legends with deep catalogues...rabbitholes.
Angel flying to close to the ground by Willie Nelson
One of the most beautiful songs ever written
You should watch Willie's 70th birthday with Willie and Ray and Leon Russell doing A Song For You. Man. What a video!
And Bill Clinton, he inhaled with Willie that night or did an outstanding impression of someone who was totally baked.
Willie wrote Crazy, Night Life, and Funny How Time Slips Away, 3 huge hits, on the road from Houston to Nashville.
Two all time legends combining for an unbelievable showcase of otherworldly talent and soul❤
"Seven Spanish Angels" is a song written by Troy Seals and Eddie Setser.
For another fantastic story telling ballad by Willie Nelson, "Redheaded Stranger" is an absolute must!
Omg! I ❤️ Ray Charles!!!
The audio is my absolute favorite. This is a beautiful song! 😢
Always on my Mind by Willie
One of my favorite videos, incredibly well written, and emotionally sung by both.
I never tire of listening to this song. Just beautiful. Ray Charles started playing piano at age 5 - the same year he started going blind. He was fully/legally blind by age 7. Thanks for reacting. As far as them coming from different backgrounds - yes - Willie grew up in a small town in Texas. Ray grew up in a small town in Florida.
I adore this song.
And Willie Nelson is a absolute legend. He's done so many genre cross overs (even has a song with Snoop Dog). There's even songs about him (Check out Toby Keith's I'll Never Smoke Weed With Willie Again). Also look up The Highwaymen! It was made up of Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson. 😉
As for songs to check out
Always On My Mind
On The Road Again
Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain
Whisky River
Pancho and Lefty
Perfection is a great way to describe it.
Let's Gooo! Love Willie and Ray. Check out Willie and Waylon Mama's don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys. I think you'll like it. Great reaction Steven and Peace out ☮️ ✌️ 🙏
One of the best duets ever. Peace, Love!!
My favorite Willie " You were always on my mind" and anything he did with the "HIghway Men"---Loved it!!!
One of the greatest collaborations ever 🙏🇺🇸
I took my two kids ,my sister and 13 other people, kids friends to go see Ray Charles in 1998, in return kids took me to go see Willie
This was a HUGE hit
Great tune!!!
Willie has a huge catalog and it's well worth a listen. Red Headed Stranger is an absolute classic album. The Time Of The Preacher medley is a great, albeit dark, story that became a movie Willie starred in. Dude is a legend for a reason and he has his own cannabis cultivar named after him.
Another of my favorite songs. Great reaction
Love this song. Great collaboration. Willie was born in Texas and Ray in Georgia. I use to live in Saint Augustine Florida. They have a school there called Saint Augustine school for the blind. Their most famous student is Ray Charles.
Oh man. This is one of my favorite performances of all time.
The best of both worlds
And the sound quality is unbelievable!!!
It truly is! Unreal!! 🔥
@@setonhillstudios ❤️
One of the most beautiful songs ever written and sung by two legends!!
Steven, You must watch the movie “Ray”
Great Reaction 👍🙏💯😎🇱🇷
Thanks so much! 😁
This is off the album Ray Charles and Freinds.
Many legends on it. Bocephus, Johnny Cash George Jones & Janie Frickey as well as micky Gilley and Ricky Scaggs. All are great tunes.
A great duet & storytelling song! Love it!
Ray did a lot of country & duets.
Check out "Georgia On My Mind" by Ray Charles
Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground by Willie. His son Lukas sings it and sounds just like him.
We were at a bar and this song played and ever one was listening, and it was quiet.Very popular. 😌
If you love Ray Charles check out Ronnie Milsap also. Another blind piano player and country singer. Ray and Ronnie actually did a song or performance together. Absolutely AMAZING!!!!!
BEAUTIFUL love the song👍👍
Ray Charles America is a treasure.
Ray- Hit the Road Jack
Bless you for reacting to this. Learning this morning of the passing of Quincy Jones, this song hits me hard. Willie and Ray both were in We Are the World. How blessed we all are to have this music at our fingertips.
I really want to see someone listen to Willie singing The Scientist. It’s a cover and amazing but like nobody has reviewed it… Willie has enumerable hits. Another recent song he sang with his son is really, really good called Just Breathe.
Chris Stapleton, his wife and Dwight Yoakam perform a tribute to this song at a country music celebration and it's fantastic.
One word. “Timeless!”
💯
That's Great.
Another fun duet is Willie and Julio Iglesias singing 'To All The Girls I've Loved Before'
Ray Charles ,Willie Nelson , Leon Russel A song for you !
You're Welcome .
Beautiful song. 🎶
Ray Charles started playing piano at age three. A cafe owner gave him lessons after Ray Charles was captivated by one of Mr. Pittman's performance. He played for an audience at age 5 and was totally blind by age seven.
Magic for humans through the power of music.
Absolutely love this collaboration!! Neither of these gentlemen are in my preferred taste for music but these are both monster legends in separate lanes coming together, like you said, for the love of music. Willie and Snoop Dogg have done a lot of collaborating over the years as well. Some of them are hilarious but really good at the same time! 💪💪
Willie is the last of the Highwaymen. Watch "Highwayman" by the Highwaymen. Supergroup of country music.
It’s actually on the channel! I forgot that I have a few Highwaymen tunes here on the channel! 🔥🔥
❤❤❤❤❤
Such a great duo and a wonderful song. Very simple story. Lovers who refused to be parted. Check out Ray Charles "America the Beautiful". Check out Willie's "It's All Gone to Pot", "Wives and Girlfriends" and "Red-Headed Stranger".
The song is about an outlaw and his lover who are trying to escape a posse sent to return him to Texas. When they are cornered, the outlaw fires on the posse and is immediately shot and killed, prompting his distraught lover to pick up his gun. She deliberately points the empty weapon at the lawmen and is shot dead, after praying for forgiveness. After each death, the titular angels gather to pray for the lovers. This is followed by "thunder from the throne" and the angels "tak[ing] another angel home." As written the song included the lines: "Now the people in the valley swear/ That when the moon's just right/ They see the Texan and his woman/ Ride across the clouds at night," which was not recorded because it was thought it would make the track run too long
Thank you for adding that. After all these years, I never knew there was another line❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I never knew this either!! Is there any recording of it with that verse as a part of it?
@@stevenangle8407 Not that I know of. I've heard of people doing covers and including it but I haven't found a recorded version. I keep hoping someone will, though.
One of my favorite duets of all time. I'm amazed you haven't hit up any Willie Nelson yet. I always loved his duets with Waylon Jennings, like Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys and pancho and lefty with Merle Haggard. Even his duet Beer For My Horses with Toby Keith is a great more recent duet. If you want just Willie, id go with City of New Orleans, Always on My Mind or Living in the Promise Land.
You need to watch the movie Ray with Jamie Foxx; it is amazing the life he lived.
Hi, Steven! Long time, no comment. I hope everything has been going well. I get goosebumps every time I hear this song. I did a quick search and found, "he began his musical career at age five on a piano in a neighborhood café. He began to go blind at six, possibly from glaucoma, and had completely lost his sight by age seven."
Thanks for the insight and great to hear from you again! Hope all is well! 😁
Good Choice You'll Love It ❤ I Love Love Love Your Channel Sexton
So glad you are enjoying the channel! Thanks so much for hanging out! ❤️
All I have to say about this song, being from Texas is.... YOU CAN TAKE ME BACK TO TEXAS, BUT, YOU WONT TAKE ME BACK ALIVE!!!
Ray Charles is from Georgia you know like the south he’s bout as country as it gets
I believe this is a tribute to Marty Robbins and goes with El Paso. I believe the female is talking from Feleena’s perspective.
written by Troy Seals and Eddie Setser
another good blind player is Gordon Mote. you should check him out
