    Cookie Sheets!!! I have about 4 half size cookie sheets from SAMS to transport food/equipment to and from the griddle. But you are spot on in keeping it simple out on the griddle.

    Two things I think are a must that are not on here:
    1) The aluminum tubs that go into the grease trap. Saves you a lot of cleanup! They are so cheap.
    2) A fold out elevated tray that you can put somewhere on your griddle when cooking things such a pancakes. You can put the finished ones on the elevated trays and it keeps them warm while you finish all the other food
    Bonus 3) A TV so I can watch the Chargers games while cooking for everyone at football parties!

    I have to agree that an instant-read thermometer is hands down the must-have. Using it to get the proper temp increased the quality of our food from hit or miss to home chef quality. Especially getting the breast right on a turkey!

    I bought the generic spatulas and scraper on your recommendations. They are awesome. The best thing I bought was a rolling tool chest from Harbor Freight. I use the top as extra table space for prep and the drawers for my griddle and grill tools, tv remote, etc.

    Aluminum serving trays make great steam covers, just use tongs or spatula to lift them up. I have a dewalt tool box to keep the griddle tools and accessories under the griddle shelf and out of the heat. The blue rhino griddle has wide side shelves that double as a cover, and allow hanging a grocery bag as a trash bin. You could punch a larger hole in the ketchup bottle lid. The spray can of Chosen avocado oil works well for a light mist.

    Whether you have a flat top or charcoal or gas, the #1 game changer in improving your cooking is the instant read thermometer. Knowing when to pull your food off the heat is so important. Your final product will be more spot on more often. My steaks come out perfect every time. Going by touch is way to iffy, and it depends on your cut of meat. Sirloins feel different than ribeyes at 120°F.

    Blackstone's combo thermometer doesn't seem to get enough recognition IMO. Infrared and probe features and it's awesome . It's small, accurate, and combines two tools into one. I recommend it to everyone that buys a new flattop and I'm not sure why I almost never see it on UA-cam.

    Such great videos! Quick question on cooking essentials: How do you clean your wood cutting boards? A local chef once told me to never use soap and water as the soap can leave off flavors. I didn't think to ask him "So what do you use instead?". So? Asking a different chef now : ) Thanks again! Love the videos and your presses are fantastic. Cheers from CO

    • @TheFlatTopKing
      @TheFlatTopKing  12 днів тому +1

      Personally I think thats crap...ahhaha now way you can sanitize chicken pork beef etc....I have used soap my whole life....never once have I noticed something off...My biggest advice is...make sure your cutting board is oiled/seasoned correctly...this will prevent the deep penetration of flavors...as well as bacteria
