Besides cleaning the cabinet, what other prep was done? Any sanding or filling? Also, the stain part confused me. The piece already looked stained and you just apply stain on top of a stained piece? I paint all the time with Dixie Belle chalk paint. Wanting to try the silk. I’m a bit confused as to how to go about prepping.
Thank you for the video! I’m painting a desk with Silk paint. The desk will get a lot of heavy use so I plan to use Gator Hide as a top coat. How long does the Silk paint have to dry before I can apply Gator Hide?

My jar of Silk mineral paint needs to be thinned, do I use water?
Hey there! Yes, but very little bit. If you use too much, you may have to seal the piece because it ruins the properties such as primer, stain blocker, topcoat, etc. I hope this helped!
How long is the curing time?
Hey Tessa! The cure time for Silk All-In-One Mineral Paint is 21-30 days. 1st coat- 4 hours, Second coat- 24 hours. Hope this helps!
Can you list the products you used?
Hey Suzie! She cleaned the piece with White Lightning, applied 2 coats of Hampton Olive Silk Mineral Paint, and applied our No Pain Gel Stain in Colonial Black on the top with an applicator pad. I hope this helps!
